The ending of Wolf's Rain made me think a bit. It left me with this feeling that I can't even begin to explain, lol. But yes, it related to the real world and how it would end similiar to that...and Paradise. Oh my.

Well...pretty much anything Ghibli... I'm still obsessed with Spirited Away. It was the first anime movie I ever saw, and it still leaves me breathless. But out of all of the Ghiblis, My Neighbour Totoro really made me appreciate the simple things and it made me happy that I didn't try to dawdle my childhood away. *hugs Totoro* Plus the totoros are so cute!
Speed Grapher took me for a deep dive (excuse the KH pun) into reality and displayed everything I've known about life on a silver platter, while still throwing some curveballs in my face. Its truly an amazing anime that isn't afraid to show you the darker side of mankind.
Plus, you gotta admit, a camera that blows stuff up...awesome.

Lain.H I don't know if anybody's ever heard of it but the anime Boogiepop Phantom will really make and Serial Experiments Lain are both anime in which take a lot of thought even begin to comprehend the material. I sadly have not seen lain yet (and I call myself an anime fan) but I do agree with Boogiepop. It is a really hard series to follow if you don't pay attention. Some of those episodes are rather disturbing as well. I just thought of another movie that makes you think. If you haven't seen the series or read the manga first, X/1999 (movie version) is really hard to follow. I had to watch it about 3 times to get the gist of what was going on. However if you can fill in the missing information in your head, it is a really good, and horribly depressing story. Two others that are sad and thought provoking have to be Night on the Galactic Railroad and Dog of Flanders. crying I can't even talk about how sad these two wonderful movies are.
