Popo glanced forward. She looked down before looking back at Iyasu, "How about a song about longing? A song both happy and sad? I feel both."

"A song of longing . . ." She said a loud in thought. "Hmm . . . how about this." She picked up her shamisen and tuned it accordly. Iyasu picked up the bachi and began to play a small sigment of the song. "How is that?"

Popo listened closely. It echoed in her heart, she felt it resonate inside of her. It was exactly what she was thinking of. Her eyes closed as she looked down. "That was beautiful, onee-san." Popo opened her eyes and looked at Iyasu, "Teach me, onee-san! Teach me, please!" Popo smiled.

"Wonderful! Now then, do you girls remember how we tune our shamisens for a song of peaceful melody?" She asked them carefully. It had been a while since she put the class on hiatus. Iyasu was hoping that they would remember something.

Popo nervously giggled a bit and said, "Maybe a quick refresher course, onee-san, and I'll be good."

She laughed a little, "It is all right, girls. Do you remember the strings? Ichi no ito, Ni no ito, and then San no ito?" Iyasu pointed each string as she said their names. Her bright hazel eyes scanned over the girls to see what they might remember, "The thickest to the finest?"

"Oh, okay..." she said quietly seeing Iyasu point to the strings. She looked down at her Shamisen and noticed the same strings.
She nodded and smiled.

"Good! Now then, listen and watch closely as tune this into the style we want." She took her time and twicked each string, stricking it every so often with her bachi to hear the note. She continued to do this until each sounded as if it were in a minor key.

Ariku began to imitate the notes on the shamisen. It took her quite a bit longer than Iyasu, but, she eventually was able to get the shamisen tuned correctly.
((Lol, I found a shamisen, koto, and taiko drum option on my keyboard...))

"Very good! Listen closely and watch my hands, I'll play a little bit of the song then you shall do your best to play it back to me individually." She smiled, "I will help you if you need it."

Popo tuned her shamisen and listened carefully. She was pretty good at picking up on things fast and remembering stuff. She waited for Iyasu to play...(!)
