selinevalentine I need apple recipies. if you can kindly point me to them i would appreciate it. I still have half a bushel of apples left. Depending on what kind of apples you have, look at the side dish thread. I put up an applesauce recipe. I'm seeking a tried-and-true recipe for Max and Erma's style tortilla soup.

I'm looking for a holiday-ish cookie recipe. I was hoping for sugar cookies, but others will do. Please just not chocolate chip, i am making these for a christmas party at my guitar lesson place, so lots of people will probably bring that (besides, i want to try another cookie recipe, i am tired of chocolate chip!! xd )

Hey, does anyone have a chili recepie that does NOT require ground beef? I like chili, but I hate how it has so much meat in it that it turns into meat soup. It MUST have beans. A vegetarian alternative like tofu would be appreciated, too. Thanks!

A vegetarian alternative like tofu would be appreciated, too. Thanks! you can add ground tofu but just adding more beans to a regular chili in place of meat will do the trick as well I guess it just depends on how much you like beans I also like to add rice to my chili to make it thick and nummy ^^ of course Im a big patron of the canned chili...

I don't want it to be just bean soup, though. I saw some vegetaran chili at a store, and it had corn and all sorts of stuff in it. I was also wondering if anyone knows how to make chicken chili.

I thought you meant what would provide the best substitute for meat... to get a similar result for chilli where you had already added the other things you wanted Im just going to shut up now...

It's allright. I got what I wanted. ^^ Well, it's one of those things, where you can pretty much add what you want. XD
Oh yeah, anyway, I was wondering if anyone had a recepie for orange glazed salmon. My dad made that once, and that was a long time ago. sweatdrop

Telria Can i request we have a Christmas recipe thread? Or Jewish equivilant of that. I think it would be nice to have some recipes to try out from other cultures biggrin You mean like potato latkes or Kosher food? There are plenty of Kosher recepies here in this subforum, but I don't really know what is Kosher (other than anything not pork), since I'm not Jewish. sweatdrop Anyway, I've made potato latkes a long time ago with instant mashed potato mix. Oh yeah, there's a cranberry sauce recipe in the side dish thread. It has nuts in it, but I'd like to try it without the nuts, since I'm allergic.

This is not to requests threads this is a place to request specific recipes if you dont see a thread that you think needs to be here you dont have to ask permission to make it the cookbook is for your benefit so you can find recipes easily

Okay, I just bought a whole sirloin. That's approximately twelve pounds of beef. I've made steaks, I've made roasts, what else can I do with it?
