Inishiro pace slowed, and a strange, small smile crept over his muzzle as his thoughts swept to his home. Cyan Serenity... Located in the mountains, on one of the larger and lower plateaus, the Pride was quite peaceful. A larger waterfall at the back of the plateau was the King's wading pool, and now Ferrian's.. And in a lower set of falls, many of the princes spent their time wading. The river flowed away from the falls and through a meadow before winding out of sight beyond a line of acacia trees.. Game was common and varied, where a lion could bring down a zebra for lunch and a gazelle for dinner if he or she was so inclined. "Yes.." He said gently. "It is, very lovely there." He glanced at her and smiled. "Waterfalls for the King, and Princes.. Smaller falls and wading pools for cubs and the rest of the Pride.. Its right on the river.." Turning back to the North, he nodded at a range of silver peaks. "On one of those mountains is a wide plateau, and with a slight slope it trails down to a meadow, where you can watch the young herdmates play in the late afternoon heat, or wade in the river... There is always an air of happiness, peace, Home."

"Home..." Ariel mused aloud. She scarecely remembered such a thing. Home to her, was where the heart was. She wandered too much to have an actual home. Though she wouldn't mind it...

Inishiro nodded, a gentle smile on his muzzle. "Yes.. I.. I really can't imagine leaving.. You are... You're always safe, and wanted.. Its a good feeling." When trying to describe how he felt about the Pride and his friends and family, Inishiro found words were largely inadequate.

"Is it?" She looked where her paws were placed. "I wouldn't know..." She sighed aloud. Talking to Inishiro reminded her of the things she didn't have, things she hadn't experienced, the things she wanted to have, or do. She enjoyed it. She offered up a rare smile of hers. "I like you Inishiro... you're very kind hearted and loving..."

Inishiro smiled. "You could come back and stay for awhile if you liked.. We like visitors too.. Even if you don't want to stay very long..." Moving at a steady walk for a few moments, he fought back a blush. "Just trying to do my job, Lady Ariel.. I'll be as charming as I can, and hopefully we'll find that wayward sister of your's.."

"I'm sure you dont have to try very hard... as for my sister... I'm sure she'll turn up sooner or later... Normally we stay together, but when we are seperated.... we find eachother again... "

Inishiro laughed and bowed his head. "I thank you for the compliment, Lady Ariel... But truly, you do this Prince too great of an honor by your presence..." He glanced around, wishing he could help her find her sister. He knew what it was like to miss a loved one. With a sigh, he hung his head. Once again mourning the loss of his mother, the heartbreak his father was suffering in silence.. The dissappearance of his brother, and the silence of one other... His family was torn.. They were all loving, but hurt..

Ariel smiled. "For a friend, I would do anything." Of course, she was shy, and thus she didn't have many friends, but to the ones she had, she was loyal and true. "Tell me, Inishiro, of something less sorrowful... lift our spirits with your soothing voice?" Ariel was beginning to depend on him a little, and she wasn't sure if that was good or bad yet.

Inishiro smiled. "You do me a great honor, in naming me friend, my lady... I am honored to call you mine." With a soft smile, he paced on silence for a few moments. "And what shall I speak of, Lovely Ariel? What could I say that would lift your spirits, and make you forget that a lion so dull as I am your companion?" He grinned, flashing fangs, and then gave a slight toss of his mane.

Ariel sighed, then looked to the sky. "Tell me tales of the future and what happiness it may bring... Tales of the past and what sorrows have been left behind."

"The future?" Inishiro murmured, and then smiled slightly. "My brother, Ferrian, the Crown Prince and current King of the Pride in my father's absence.. Ferrian is soon to be a father, I'm sure of it..." He gave a chuckle. "And.. One of my best friends, ever since we were cubs, is newly in love... She and her mate celebrated the arrival of three daughters not long ago.. And my friend Nitarin is newly in love and a father. His mate is the elusive BlueFlower, a wandering Princess forever on the run from the male that slew her family..."

Admiration and amazment were evident in Ariel's very different eyes as she watched Inishiro talk about his friends and their lives. Ini was a very well socialized lion, as far as she could tell. Her years of guarding the temple with her sister certaintly had cut in on making friends. ((Note: The temple is a tentative idea that just poped into my head, i'm actually going to PM doodle about it and see what she thinks))
"It all sounds very exciting." She had often fantasised about love and life, though never thought that she would actually have a chance outside her duty to experience it.

"Yes, they were my dearest companions growing up." Inishiro smiled. "Some, I must say I have not seen in some time, I feel I should seek them out soon, we used to have so much fun. " He gave a wistful smile. He too dreamed of being in love, having a family.. But Rakastaa's family did not seem willing to allow it, and his father was less than understanding... "We will all find happiness one day."

Here, Ariel nodded. She was a shy creature, but she was ever hopeful. She knew she would find her sister, and perhaps, one day even find love beyond friendship. "It is always darkest just before the dawn.", She whispered warmly, a smile resting in place. It was a phrase she knew since birth, and to her, it symbolized the hope for the future, that it wasn't all some game to the gods.

Inishiro gave a soft huff. "Then I believe it shall be dawn, soon.." He spoke more for Rakastaa than himself, for if she was happy, he would be content... If her mother and father let her know joy, like that which he felt in her presence (and even if she found love with someone other than he) he would be happy..."For it is blacker than the abyss..."
