Ujuzi settled her head onto her paws for much needed sleep, though she didn't drift off just yet, listening for the sounds of her mate and alpha. Other than that, however, the female didn't have the strength to move again so soon. When Kengee approached them and reassured her that he was there to keep watch, Ujuzi shifted her head a little and gave a tired and grateful whine back, thumping her tail against the ground. She was now feeling utterly spent, as one by one their children found their way closer to her forepaws. The first born followed suit next, curling up next to her siblings against their mother's stomach and giving a little more leeway and free space among the feeding station.
Haiji's scent wafted down into the den a little bit later, following the sound of shuffling paws outside. Ujuzi felt a third swell of warmth as her dear friend arrived, and called back out softly.
"Everything's fine, Haiji... Eleven healthy puppies. Six boys and five girls." She smiled towards the alpha, her indigo eyes perhaps the most visible part of her besides her white markings, as her own orbs met Haiji's forest ones.

Poka took advantage of the opportunity with his sister's vacancy and crawled closer, situating himself against his mother's stomach to suckle, a muffled squeak coming from him before he finally quieted down and fed. The sound of the other adult registered in the ears of the tiny pup, but he didn't understand what it was. And frankly, he was much more concerned with filling his stomach than worrying about anything else. His eyes closed sleepily as he drank, liquid drizzling down his soot-colored face.
A pair of orange eyes glistened in the light beside Ujuzi's lilac ones as Kengee also spotted their alpha. He smiled and offered a gentle and respectful noise in greeting to Haiji before turning his attention back to his mate, ears flicking forward and tail swishing beside him. Eleven children, and she had to bear it all. Even now as the labor was over, she gracefully endured as the near dozen small forms huddled close to her and fed. His eyes met hers, a fond smile on his face. "Have I told you lately that you're amazing?" He spoke, chuckling softly.

After having his fill of his breakfast, Jabari started to crawl his way away from his siblings, when he heard the muffled voices of and unknown Wild Dog. He lifted his head up slightly and squeeked at Haiji, wondering where the voice was coming from. He slowly attempted to stand on all fours, but fell back down on his stomach with a weak cry. It seemed that standing and walking was going to be more difficult than he expected it to be.

 Haiji peered into the dark, making out the laying form of Ujuzi in the shadows, Kengee faithfully beside her. She was glad her friend had not been completely alone. Despite all the new life that birth bought, she understood it to be a hard thing. And Ujuzi did look spent!
And no wonder too! Haiji gasped as the total amount of pups was given. There did seem to be alot in th gloom of the den... but eleven?!
"Oh! That's so many! So many new pups!" She cried out in surprise and shock. But it soon turned to delighted laughter, though hushed somewhat so as not to awaken and disturb the mother and her brood. She could hear a few squeaking but most seemed sleepy and tired.
"We're such a big family now! Congratualtions Ujuzi, Kengee." She nodded to them in turn, grinning all the while. It would be hard work looking after so many, but it'd be worth it. And for now she simply relished in the thought of so many new faces to be considered their packmates.

The new mother smiled both tired and proud, heart warming by her mate's compliment. Though it left her feeling a touch shy afterwards she did take it to heart, feeling the contentment his vote of confidence brought.
"Thank you Haiji... and yes, quite... this puts us at sixteen now, I believe..." She yawned, despite her best efforts to stay awake longer, she couldn't manage it right then. "Please forgive me, but sleep is..."
She didn't get a chance to quite finish that sentence, for her eyes slid shut even as she spoke, and her voice began to slur towards the end. It wasn't long at all before finally her exhaustion took it's toll, and she was fast in the realm of dreams.
