Etain brightened a little. So maybe it wasn't all his fault? That was good! Even if...well, he didn't want Orpheus blaming himself for his mistake. So he opted to nibble edgily on the side of his finger as the man described the next part of the lesson.
Purifying? With his...horn? What if something in those cups ate it up like a catapillar through a leaf?! Etain wasn't entirely sure his horn would grow back if something like that happened; he eyed the cups nervously again, chewing more vigorously on his fingers.
But - well, Orpheus wouldn't tell him to do something that was dangerous, right? This was like school, except no letter writing or rading and no pens and pencils. Sorta.
"Okay; touch my horn to it..." he repeated, more for his own benefit than Orpheus'. Etian warily reached out for one of those first cups with poison inside that Orpheus had set aside. It was a little difficult to angle himself properly with the way the horn twisted to a slightly upward angle away from his forward. With a little bit of tinkering, her managed to get the tip of his horn past the edge of the class cup and dipped it into the odd colored liquid.
It didn't...feel like anything. At least it wasn't making his horn melt off, Etain reasoned. Aah, focus, focus!, he told himself, biting the inside of his cheek. Purify, purify. This stuff made his skin crawl a little; the hair on the badck of his neck stand on end, and now that he knew it was poisoned something about it most his nostrils itch...
And then it was gone. Etain blinked, straightening sharply and nearly knocking the cup out of his hands because of it. "I...I think I did it."

He took the cup from him, looking a bit excited himself as he went about the instructions given to him to test the water then gave a whistle, "Wow, this stuff is better off now then the water I got out of the water fountains in the hall." He said, water more pure then even D-Corp's building made it.
He was... impressed wasn't strong enough of a word for what he was feeling at what he'd gotten to witness, "That was... amazing Etain!" He said, praising the child's skill.

Watching Orpheus scuttle about the office to check the state of the cup's liquid made Etain think a little of the ants in the front garden. So busy... But, wait? He done it? Done it right? The boy flushed with obvious pleasure and pride, a broad smile cracking across his pale features. No one had ever sounded that proud of him - with the exception of Tovar, of course. It made him feel...important; like he'd done something spectacular. Etain wondered, briefly, if anyone else could do the same thing. Maybe Anoki - he had horns, so why not?
"D'you want me t'do the other ones?" he squeaked, glancing a little excitedly toward the other cups Orpheus had set aside as poisoned.

He nodded his head as he moved the water cups out of the way and picked up the cups with the various poisons in them to sit in front of him so that he could purify all of them as well. He wanted to see it done again, curious about this power that the unicorn boy had.
(( if you want to post the sort of item that he would like for reward for passing the class I will get it done quickly before the class ends ))

((Oooh, a cute charm for Etain's bracelet would be cool. : DD *dork*))
Nodding, Etain gingerly took up one of the remaining glasses and repeated the whole, slightly awkward porocess of tipping it head at a weird angle until he could get the tip of the horn past the edge of the glass and down into the liquid. It would be easier if they were in bowls or something, he reflected, but this wasn't that hard - it just took alot of manuevering.
Again, the little swell of discomfort - a slight skin-crawling sensation along his arms and in his fingers - rolled up like bile in his throat as he touched his horn to the poison and then... nothing at all. Straightening, Etain set the cup back down slightly aside from the others so Orpheus could test it in the same way he had with the first one, and then he moved on to the next cup and repeated the whole process over again. This was, weirdly enough, easier than trying to figure out which ones had been poisoned in the first place. In retrospect, Etain suspected it might be easier to detect what was poisoned if he just stuck his horn in it - that weird itchy feeling was pretty telling.

Depsite being sure that the cups that once contained poison were pure he still ran the tests on them, just in case. One after the other came up as pure water though, enough so that he gave a whistle, "You know... it makes me wonder." He found himself saying. The test, that consisted of putting a strip of paper into the cup and awaiting it to turn any number of colors to indicate what was wrong with the water, was harmless so... he took the paper out of the cup, set it aside and drank a glass of the water.
This showed both his curiousity over what the water would taste like and his complete trust in Etain's skills. He had no doubt in his mind after he purified it and after the test that it was safe enough to drink, "Wow, thats pretty good." He said, smiling.
(( Etain's charm is all done! Very shiny. ^_^ ))

So he was doing it right after all! Not just a fluke or dumb luck; this actually worked. That was...pretty darn cool, in Etain's oh-so honorable opinion. Oh, wait, but--
Etain stared wide-eyed as Orpheus knocked back to glass of - "M-mister, that's not good for you!" he squeaked in a panicked tone, flapping his arms slightly, tail trashing with worry. What if had delayed effects? Or... or the poison came back while it was still inside him?! "Y-you shouldn't drink it!"
That couldn't be healthy. It seemed dangerous and a little unsettling that Orpheus trusted him that much to drink what had been, a few minutes ago, poison and definately not recommend for consumption.

"Its fine, its been purified of the effects of what was added to it. Besides I have all the antivenoms on hand just in case." He assured Etain then reached under the table that they were sitting at, fetching a bag that was sitting down there along with random other things that he'd brought with him to set up this class. He set the bag on the table to dig into it, rooting around until he found what he was looking for, "Ah-ha." He held his hand out to Etain, "Here you are. A reward that signifies that you passed the class with flying colors." He said to the unicorn boy, "And my thanks for letting me see such a wonderful ability."
