I thought that movie was awesome, it was soo cool to see a movie that was based on a competition about band, and all of the music was pretty sweet, I'm not gonna lie. I loved the thing they did with the bass drums at the end....
I'm one of the "others" for the poll, and I play the oboe, I love how bagpipes come before double reeds x.x

i liked it even though
A. a person who couldn't read music wouldnt survive in a competative college band
B. did anyone else notice that when he tapped out a rhythm the computer picked it up and gave it different pitches?
since when does snare drum give off different pitches?

I love showbands and have had the oppertunity to watch a few of them live. Some of their drumline instructors are straight from DCI and do a great job at teaching. There are several very good show bands out there that focus on the music and having it sound good. Now thre are also some very horrid showbands out there but i wont go into that. *cough* U$C
I really enjoyed drumline and it remains one of my favorite movies.
For those schools "halftime is gametime"

the movie itself was ok, though i've never been fond of dance squads, there was a colorguard in one of the deleted scenes! and GenericWit F.Y.I allthough my father was on a drum line pre-DCI (and marched in the very first DCI!) and has played drums all his life... he can't read the music, some one has to play something for him before he can begin to learn it xd he's pathetic (although kick a** at drums!!)
aand i chose other on the poll because i play a lil' piano and a lil' guitar, and was on the colorguard in my band

I need to watch it again but if there was only 2 different notes that I think that stands for which hand to hit with.

i think it had like eight different pitches on it.. i was like " *blinks* ???"
and wow... nowadays... i know my DCI instructor would rather have a sixth grader who can read music than a HS kid who can't.

I liked it because hey at least it was a movie about band because those don't come around every so often. But yeah I think that they did kind of go overboard about how big a competition is. I mean I never seen that many people at one competition.
