“Same for myself.” Kilua spoke, swallowing another piece of warm meat. “I mean- not the pridelands. I mean...I was born a rogue too. My mother, Ciyari- she just sort of popped us out. She’s an incredible person.” The female spoke fondly, her ears flattening. “But I havn’t seen her in some while...my brothers too. Utomo was always a strange one, but Kayin...I hope nothing bad has befallen any of them. I thought I could find my father once- that’s why I started to walk down this way... but, then I realized...” She paused, wondering if perhaps she was blabbing too much. “I mean...he wouldn’t know who I was anyways. There’s no point in it- I certainly wouldn’t know my own father if I saw him. So I decided I’d follow this water. I will do whatever it tells me to do.”

Danzi chuckled lightly. "I don't imagine you were born in the Pridelands, anyway. I'd have recognised you a lot sooner if you were." An ear flicked as he listened to her, then sighed. "My mother was taken by strange two-legged things... I was just a small cub them, with two sisters.. We found a jungle to hide in, but..." He shuddered. "River crocodiles ripped one of them apart in front of me, the other got washed away by the river..."
Green eyes turned to the river's flow. "I went searching for my own father... It led me to the Pridelands, because my mother used to tell us that our father came from there. I ended up taken in by a honey lioness and her mate, and they've become more of parents to me than my actual parents would have ever been considered." A heavy sigh escaped and Danzi turned back to Kilua, "My father's dead, though. Has been since a plague swept through and took him and his nephew with it, as well as most of the pride at the time. But it's best not to think of such a thing, is it?" A kind smile returned before he took a leg from the zebra to chew on. "If you follow the river, I imagine you'd find your way to the sea. That or the river's source."

Kilua paused and lowered her eyes, nodding softly. “Oh- I’m sorry... But...I guess we’re sort of in the same boat. I don’t know if my father is alive.” Faintly, she added with a light chuckle. “I barely knew what a father was until I was a teen. I thought for a while a friend of my mother might have been...” She paused and squinted. “Maybe he was. He never said anything.” Hodari had taken care of Kayin more then even mother had...
It took a strangled sigh for her to find some center. She’d resolved herself not to get herself tangled into the mysteries of her family. Instead what she waited for was at the end of this water way- what she hoped she waited for, anyways.
“I just hope I know what I’m doing. I’ve never been the smartest kind of person.” She sighed, and rested her head down, belly now full of meat. “How did you know when you had something good? When it was time to stay?”

Danzi tilted his head, listening. "At least you had a male presense, though. I've only met two males older than me. One became my father figure, the other," he chuckled lightly, "is my only friend with a mane." The male stretched a bit, watching Kilua. "As crazy as it sounds... The winds told me. I followed them to the Pridelands, and there I stayed. Now... It's just a matter of my paws itching. For you, though... From the sounds of it, the water is what talks to you."
He rose up, popping some joints. Was age catching up? Perhaps... But he wasn't too old yet. Smiling gently, he nodded at the leftovers. "You should stay here and rest, recover, before you go on further. It might help, too, to go upriver. You'll probably have better luck finding what you're looking for that way."

Kilua nodded her head dutifully, and looked towards the water. “It does, I think. Not so loudly but- it tries...” Perhaps now she would be able to make the way to this unknown place. She felt full of warm food- so much so that she perhaps needed to take a nap to allow it to settle. But even without the slumber, she felt more energy. “I think I will do that.” She said softly, and gently nodded her head. “Thank-you Danzi. I don’t know if I could ever repay...” The grey creature frowned softly, and vieled her eyes.
And weakly, she tumbled into a slumber.
