Japi heard Risika's voice behind her and slowed down. It's not like she expected her new friend to follow, but she was certainly happy for the help. She had no idea what that thing was and it might be good to have another pair of eyes. Besides, Japi had a feeling that Risika wasn't a normal human either. ((Yeah... Japi is Captain Obvious at this point... xd )) Japi shined the light around, looking for where Xia might have been taken and hoping somehow they would be lucky enough to find her without whatever it was that took her.

Having quickly caught of with Japi, Risika stood beside her, her eyes constantly moving around their new dark surroundings.
" You'd think I'd be able to hear something," she muttered to herself. The fact that she culdn't hear Xia or even maybe the steps of what ever took her put Risika on edge. She hadn't been this weirded out in years, and it took a lot to weird her out.
While Japi searched with her flashlight, Risika would gaze at the spots that she had just searched and the spots that seemed to be the darkest. If someone were to flash a light at where you were, you wouldn't just hop out and go " HEY HERE I AM!" You would wait until the light passed and then hop out to move further along.
Wouldn't you?

((Sorry to inturrupt, but would it be prohibited to join you guys down in the basement now since the museum's locked down?
I just wasn't sure if, when Bal mentioned no one who wasn't already in the rp couldn't join anymore, she meant we couldn't enter the basement, because it's locked out from the rest of the museum somehow.))

(( The entire museum is in lock down, not just the basement. In this case Bao and Lymar didn't make it downstairs. I do still need someone active upstairs. Hint hint wink wink. ^.~ ))

((I know the museum is in lockdown, just curious if that ment the basement was cut off from the rest of the museum, and if so, how. ^^; Sorry I didn't explain it better.
Ah! Okies, then! XD *wonder if Bao and Lamar were close enough to hear Xia scream* So...should I just continue in the main hall, then?))

The guard made sure to keep himself in front of the girls for various reasons. One, he should be the on in charge here, not them. Two, it was his job wasn't it? Three, they wouldn't see the fightened look on his face if he was in front of them! Though as he waved his own flash light around in the dark, the flight flickered from the shaking of his hand. Afraid? Yes.
Though each girl searched, there was nothing there in the darkness to find. Nothing but occasional spider webs or a mouse trap here and there. Everything was in order, and in an unsettling way.
As they rounded the corner of a corridor, the man ahead sighed. "Perhaps we should split up? I can heard voices of the other guards down here, I'll go ask them if they seen anything and if they can get the power back on soon."

(( you got it !! *shakes the dice in her fist and rolls* X333 had to delete my last post o-o i refreshed to make sur eno one else posted and it got rid of my dice action > Risika frowned at the guard before them. Split up? That was deffiantly the worst idea Risika could think of. Sure it would have them covering more ground, but she didn't trust whatever took Xia, and she deffiantly didn't trust it alone with Japi or this guard.
She looked to Japi for her say in the matter of "splitting up." Risika didn't want to be making choices when there where two others to decide. If majority ruled, she would be s**t out of luck.
" Well Japi, what do you think about spliting up?" She had a small frown plastered upon her face, so it was pretty obvious what her choice in the matter was.

Split up? Japi scrunched her face up at the idea. Splitting up made her a little nervous. It was cliche too. Japi had a bad relationship with things cliche. "Well," her voice was a bit higher pitched than she meant it to be, showing off her fear. "We could cover more ground that way..." she didn't like being pressured into things, mostly because she knew it would always work, but her new friend's voice told her she didn't like the idea either. "But don't you think it would be more dangerous?" she asked the guard. ((edit: gonk Oh! Botch!!))

"It may be more dangerous... but also more effective. There isn't much place to get lost down here, just follow and pipes on the ceiling. If you find a dead end turn around and go back. But there's only two of them here." The guard explained, scratching at the back of his head.
"We need to find that girl as quick as possible, even if splitting up is the case. Um... Here." He reached onto his belt holding out a can of mace. "Once of you two can take this, I only have one. It's the only protection I can offer you at this moment."

Risika frowned at the desicion of splitting up. She shrugged and turned away from the offered mace. She would not be needing the device, it would only keep her hands occupied, and only get in her way.
"I'll go this way then I guess," she pushed herself forward, leaning in toward Japi as she started to walk past her. She whispered softly so that only Japi could hear. " If you need me, just yell I'll be able to hear you. The last thing I need is to lose a new friend." She smiled, not worrying if Japi could see it in the darkness, then continued past her, following the dark passage in search of Xia and the creature that took her.

"Umm..." Japi shifted nervously back and forth on her feet. "Okay." She took the mace when Risika rejected it but wasn't sure if she'd really need it. Japi could not see Risika's smile, but she could hear it in her voice. She shined her light after her new friend and then went off into another direction. "See ya soon," she said to the guard, mostly for her own comfort.

The guard just watched as the two girls headed off in their own directions as he too went another. Surely he wasn't the smartest man out there, but he was dumb enough to send two girls intot he dark on their own...
JAPI You go down the dark hall, and with the aid of your flashlight can at least see the floor. It's a standard conceret floor but wait! What's that? There in the middle of the walk way is the paper hat Xia had been wearing. Is she near there? Oh where could she be?!
SIKA Your eyesite is much to your advantage there in the darkness. At the far end of the hall is a figure hunched over. It didn't seem to notice you at first, but a few footsteps away and it's head shot up and the figure took off down another hall. Where it has been standing was a few drops of blood and a few strands of silver hair.

Sika sighed as she walked down the hall, her eyes constantly darting around, taking in her surroundings. She was worried now, for she had no clue as to what happened to Xia and now she was wandering around in a dark basement with some creature on the loose. Any other day she would have just said "******** it I'm outta here." But with the combined reasons of the place being locked down and the fact that she actually cared that Xia was missing, made her choose otherwise.
She slowly came toward a deadend and slowled down a bit as she slowly caught sight of a hunched figure. From what she could tell it didnt seem to looke like Xia, so she approached slowly, but approached nonetheless, her hands flexed out at her sides, ready to defend herself. She was nearly there when the thing's head shot up and it took off down another hallway.
She had jumped at the thing's movement, and took a few steps forward as it began to get up. But it was already down the hallway, before she could have even really reacted.
" s**t," she said breathly, still recovering from the shock. She gazed down where the thing had been crouched, and her eyes narrowed.
Crouching down, she reached out toward the strands of hair with a gloved hand, her fingers gently grazing the blood as she lifted the strands from the ground. She brought the strands and blood to her nose, taking in a deep breath. Her eyes darkened as she recoginzed the smell of blood, yet didn't recognize the smell laced within the hair.
She growled and stood up from the ground, wiping the blood off on the leg of her pants.
" s**t, either that thing was bleeding, or it was eating something." She paused as a small frown crossed her face. " Of someone..."
With that thought now vivid in her mind she took off down the hallway the thing from before had gone. She didn't care if it'd be smarter to walk rather than run, something was wrong.
