I think it's a good idea to remake some old horror movies, just don't like the remakes of the Japanese movies...the Japanese versions are way better than the american remakes.

Yes, I will agree that some movies do not need to be redone, but then again, some do. A lot of old horror movie originals (like the Amityville horror) didn't make a lot of sense and need to be redone. I mean, the idea is great, but the acting and plot need to be sorted out.

I think that some movies should be left alone. If it's a classic then you really shouldn't mess with it.

The_Wicked_Man... You are right with naming all those remakes. The originals I didn't like. But their remakes I LOVE. Two of the few remakes that made the "Remake Idea" good.

Ashley_J the thing was a good remake True, it was a lot closer to the original source material ( Who Goes There? a book by some dude, his name escapes me), and captured the paranoia perfectly.

If the movie is a classic they have to make the re-make flippin awesome. If not it wont even remotely match up with its predecessor. a good re-make is Texas Chainsaw Massacre. You can take the remake in a different direction to a point, then after that it could be bad.

I really don't think some remakes are a good idea..................or alot of sequels either...............some people take some of the best movies, remake them, and turn them into a big pile of s**t.

For the most part I've been very disappointed with the remakes as of late. Texas Chainsaw remake made me fall asleep, The Grudge made me sick, need I go on? I heard they are remaking Evil Dead...not really looking forward to it. The original was great, a true cult classic. They will try to relive old glories, but I'm afraid that it will all be in vain.

Depends on if the movie needed a remake. But some remakes are worse then the original.

I don't know what I hate more, remakes or sequels. There are some good sequels, but they only work for films that were crap in the first place. Sure with remakes you can add CGI and better effects in there, but you could be tampering with master films, showing that it's nearly impossible to perfect cloning.

Vinessa_Valentine I beleive that the GOOD originals should be left alone, aka: all the ones you've mentioned but along with the other good horrors. Now if it was the remake of a crappy horror done BETTER, then the whole remake thing would be a good idea. It all depends on what is being used to remake. the originals get remade because some people like to see how the badguys get revamped
