Celes nodded thoughtfully, watching him. Then, she moved over to him again and put his hands in the right position,
"Like this," she said. He obviously wasn't a natural at swordplay.

Irvine smiled, "Thanks." He moved it more the way she wanted, but he still felt clumbsy. "How do you get the hang of this anyway?"

Celes smiled,
"Practice." Though really, she'd taken to the sword fairly quickly...and he really didn't seem to be getting it,
"Though...sometimes a person just isn't cut out for a sword. Viki uses a staff, and I couldn't ever imagine her trying a sword."

"Oh, yeah?" He liked hearing that. "I wonder what I'm good at?" He handed the sword back to Celes. "Maybe I should find a stick or something and we can pratice more?"

Celes pondered this,
"Or we could go to the store and you could try different things. There's a weapons shop somewhere around here...and I think having one in your hands will be the best way to find out what kind of weapon you like."

Irvine pondered that for a moment. "I reckon that may work." He smiled, as she had a great idea. "Show me the way, pretty lady!"

Again, Celes flushed a bit at the compliment. She really wasn't sure what to do with those sorts of things, having never had any before. The girl sheathed the sword and headed towards the weapon shop she remembered having seen,
"Do you have any idea what sort of weapon you'd like? What are you good at?"

Irvine saw the blush and smiled. He then followed her. "Hmm...well, I'm not to sure. Maybe something small?" He hadn't been a kid too long yet. He hoped the store would help him out.

Celes tilted her head, a small section of her bangs falling into her eyes as she did so,
"Small, hmmm?"
Maybe he had good hand-eye coordination? If so, perhaps he could use a throwing weapon.
They reached the shop quickly enough, and she opened the door for him,
"We'll try out all sorts of different weapons, and figure it out that way."

Irvine followed her in. He saw many weapons. Swords like hers, then some bigger and some smaller. He saw things he didnt' even recognize. "Well, were you reckon we start?"

Celes took Irvine by the arm and directed him towards the smaller, more mobile weapons,
"Well, you said something smaller, so we'll start here."
She picked up a few of the smaller items and handed him a javelin,
"This is a javelin. You throw it.."

Irvine smiled as she pushed him along. He picke dthe javelin up and shook it in his hand. "I don't know aobut this one...it's long."

The girl nodded, pushing strand of blonde hair behind an ear,
"Well..." she took the javelin,
"how about this then?"
She handed him a shuriken,
"It's a throwing star..."

Irvine picked up the star. "This seems neat." He then felt a p***k. "Ouch! Well, maybe not." He looked at his hand as a little spot of blood appeared.

Celes blinked, looking at his hand as it started to bleed,
"Oh!" she ripped off a bit of her sleeve using the star and motioned to his hand,
"Here, let me wrap it up for you."
Perhaps not necessarily the best choice for him. There were other small weapons, though. ...and a few larger ones that he might like, she supposed. She wasn't much for guns, but they were just over there, and he was a guy afterall-- Boyue had told her once that boys liked guns and explosions and stuff a lot sometimes when he was trying to explain why he thought Sagitta should have been born a boy.
