Ai slid off Keir's back, landing a bit ungracefully on the ground. Making note not to step in the acid melted grass. "I okay..." He looked at the ground, knowing he should probably appoligize but he really didn't want to either. Ai looked back up at the newt boy and took on a tough face. "Don't you know how to stop him?"

Taken aback by the the kid's rude question he planted his hands on his hips and glowered at the kid.
"Look Keir is a dragon, not some pet. If he doesn't want to listen than I have no control over him." As much as it hurt to admit that he could NOT control his dragon he knew he better just be honest. "you should be caerful with creatures you arn't familar with. " He continued his lecture Wondering if the kid was listening to him at all.
Keir looked at Chath sharply when he mentioned he was not a pet. So the child realized this...finally. Keir looked to the green scaly kid and then lowered his head down and nuzzeled the kids side.

Ai glowered at him. Thats not what he ment, but his limited vocabluary didn't help him much so he didn't retaliate with a response to that. "I was careful...." Ai pouted looking off to the side avoiding direct eye contact. This was an uncomforatable subject and Ai'shern couldn't really respond to it, so he decided to change subjects.
"What kind of thing are you?" He was so bright an orange! He hadn't seen very many people bright and orange before.
When Keir nunged him from behind he reached back to pet the top of his muzzle. Atleast the dragon wasn't angry with him too.

With a sigh Chath collasped into a crosslegged position on the grass, careful not to accidentally lean a knee onto the acid eaten earth. Well...at least the kid was somewhat listening.
He gave the kid a half smile and then a sigh. "I am a Red spotted Newt." he replied and gave the kid a once over. "You are?" he asked, trying not to be rude but manners wernt really an issue here.
Keir felt better that Chath had stopped his badgering, it was really his fault to begin with he shouldnt of encouraged the kid, laying down to get in a better position he never realized how nice it felt to have someone petting you.. it was vaugely calming.

"A newt? Whats that?" Well he had a tail, maybe it was like a lizard or something. Ai wondered why both of them had sat down on the ground, and not wanting to stand out he joined them. His clawed feet sprawled out to eather side as he leaned on one hand and pet Keir with the other.
Upon the question of what he was, Ai'shern looked straight at Chath and grined "A Basilisk!" Though his smile filled with sharp teeth would not have been the most pleasent thing. Especially if Chath had the fainitest idea what a Basilisk was.

Chath took a breath a held it for a moment as he thought. "Well a newt is a amphibium...likes frogs, they go through three stages of growth, though I am not sure if i missed a stage or if I will dramatically change in the near future. Newts are found in damp mossy areas or in lakes and ponds, they eat soft bodied creatures like worms, slugs and other insects." He explained, his mom had gotten him a book about amphibiums so he could leanr about the species his DNA came from.
"Now tell me about the Basilisk, I have heard of the name but i am not entirely familair with the species." Chath asked in return observing tehc hld and determining that he must be of some reptile.

Ai'shern nodded a bit at his explination. So they were like lizards cept they lived in water. But they change? Now that was weird. Maybe it was like the way bugs did, but they ate bugs. This was confusing concept to him. The only thing he knew that change was a catterpillar to a butterfly or moth. "You look grown up to me." Yea there was no way he could change when he was already that big.
"Ah, da' says they're a mythical creature, or maybe that was monster, ...they're like giant reptiles, mostly lizard like, though some times the story says they're bird like. The storys also vary on what powers they have, but its always being able to turn things into stone by looking at its victum, or was that paralyze?" The little monster didn't know most of the details exactly only what his guardian had said or yelled at him. "I think dey can eat rocks too or stone.."

Chath gave a wry smile, "Well yah i guess I do look grown up, but I am only 11 years. Or around there anyway, but you will have a lot of growing to do as well I would imagine." After listening to the young boy describe the species he gave an inward wince. No wonder Keir liked the kid...he was very much a monster.
"So...do you think you will grow up and be very large?" he asked and he sudenly wondered about the kids description of being able to turn things into stone by looking at them.
Well so far he hadn't be turned into stone, which was a good thing but being paralyed didn't sound very fun at all either. "Sounds like you will become a formidable opponent in the future." he said trying to laugh off his worries. "I best train so I don't end up being turned into stone." he laughed a bit though it did sound strained.
"have you tried eating rocks?" he asked mildly surprised by this fact.

"I dunno about big, but I'll be strong fo sure!" Another fang filled smile. He ment it in the cutest way possible but being a large reptilian predatory like creature doesn't really help that. "maybe a little taller dan other people."
"i don't think i can turn people into stones." he sounded dissapointed. "I dun know how to even make people stop movin." Though that train of thought was easily lost when Chath mentioned training. "Training, for what?" The newt's obvious nevousness went right over the boys head.
Then Ai's attention jumped to what had just been suggested. "No I haven't, but i can try!" And with that, impulse got the best of him and Ai'shern grabed the nearest rock and stuck it right in his mouth.

Chath gave a bi of a sigh of relief as he watched the young child seem to float from one topic to the next, this reminded him that this kid...was still a kid. Though he seemed pretty sure that he was going to be tall...Chath didn't doubt him he had a strange feeling that the child was going to be fairly scary when he grew older.
Best he start and try and be this kids friend now. "Well you best be careful about turning people into stone,,,if you ever develop that capability. " he added hastily, " and though it can be tempting i am sure paralying people would be a bad thing as well." he continued though e was attempting to not sound like he was lecturing.
He watched in doumbfoundment as the kid reached for a rock and popped it in his mouth...why did he ask that question??? "Uh...are you ok?" he asked hoping hte kid didn't break his teeth chewing on them.

"I'll try not to do it on purpose." The kid muttered through the rock in his mouth. "I know hurtin people ish bad." He looked at his clawed hands. He had hurt some one before but they didn't seem to upset by it. That had confused him, people where suppose to be upset when hurt. Thats what his dad told him.
"I fine." The rock gave a loud grinding crunch as he chewed on it. "I don't taste very good though." Ai spat it back out and droped the rock to the ground. "i dunno why anything would want to eat rocks." He looked at the one he spat out confused.

Chath gave the kid a questioning look and then gave a snort of a laugh. "Well..i don't suppose rock would taste very good." he said feeling himself settle down. Though the kid looked dangerous it was only his nature and he didn't go around purposely hurting people.
"Well I suppose you will just have to be careful." he said and then offered his bare arm towards the kid. "But, it is okay if your not careful around me." he said looking fiarly proud of himself. "I heal real quick, try a claw."
