There are actually cosmetic products out there that are really good for this. Most are to slow melanin production and restore brightness to the complexion for people with dark spots from the sun. However, they bring a paler look overall. DHC has a couple systems for brightening, which were recommended in the Gothic and Lolita Hair and Make Bible. (They also recommended DHC's Acerola products.) Clarins has a system as well as Shiseido. (Shiseido also carries knock-out powerful sunblock. XD) A lot of these are pretty pricey, though, so I suggest going the natural route by making it a habit to carry your parasol and wearing sunscreen regularly in high amounts.

Does Shiseido produce makeup, also? I swear I read an interview once where Mana said he used Shiseido eyeliner...

Nevermind. Google answered me.

I'm naturally pretty pale, though an odd, olive-ie asian-ish pale. *shakes fist at weird genetics*. I think it's cool, though. lol

i wish i could be more pale, sadly, my family loves being outside on our boat and such so i often tan because i almost can't stand sunblock (it feels icky!!!) and when i tan (due to the native american blood?) i get a weird dark color that becomes and orange-ish when taking pictures... crying (damn genetics!!!)

I'm quite pale; most likely because of my poor eating habits xD
You can't really get rid of it; if it's tanned, it's tanned. Just stay out of the sun as much as possible, or use a little sunscreen on exposed skin before going out.
Buy papaya whitening soap from Asian markets; you can use it all over your body and face.
If you got a tan by sun, you're skin will probably be pretty pale in during winter and it will stay like that it you use sun precautions. If it's natural, then try the papaya soap =3

and eating them =]

I used to keep my skin /really/ pale until I realized it just doesn't work well with my skin tone. But, if you insist on staying pale-

Shave, don't wax, shaving helps exfoliate
exfoliate, exfoliate, then exfoliate some more. xd
Wear high spf sunscreen ALL the time, even if it isn't hot.
Buy whiteners, Asian markets usually have a lot of these.
Parasols!! These are a loli's best friend in attempting to stay pale.
This site may help in producing a homemade whitener: Gawth Pallor

Theres my 2 cents.

Before I started acutaine, I would use proactive (You've probably heard of it ^-^ Its a very popular acne treatment) Anyway, they sell a little bottle of lotion called "skin lightening lotion". I never thought it would work, but not only does it take away redness from acne and past acne scars, it also get rid of tans. Its really great. I think it was expensive though, maybe $20?

I started to notice a lighter color on my skin within 2days. I put it on at night before bed, and it acted like a moisturizer. It doesn't smell that great though. razz It doesn't bleach your skin or anything it just takes you back to your natural color.

i hear that "Likas Papaya Skin Whitening Herbal Soap" works pretty well- i'm trying to find it for myself! i mean, it's not a quick fix 'get pale!' solution, but i hear it helps lighten the skin if you use it often.

I USE IT XDDD and its really good XDDD

Although there is a cream version of the papaya soap but its actually a lot harder to find sad

My grandma said you can find it in chinatown (L.A/USA)
Although, if youre filipino(pinoy <3) then you can find it at your local filipino store XDDDD

Crazy filipinos are trying to find a way toget their skin pale XDDD (found out though girl talk with them XDDD although im doing the same thing too XDDDDD)

I've had tanned skin for quite a while but naturally, it's quite a lot more pale. It's getting worse every year with me going out in the sun too much. My skin doesn't get back to it's natural colour very easily and I'm asian so I know that I wouldn't have REALLY pale skin. But does any one know of an afforable (and unpainful xD) way to get rid of tanned skin? heart

scrub it every day with a nail brush, it hurt a little but it worked for me.

Naturally, I'm EXTREMELY PALE, people seriously thought I was died in the middle of class once. it was very weird. (I love my genetics!) BUT I moved last December to the suburbs. it's REALLY HOT. this summer I have gone from REALLY pale to tan. I had a bunch of bracelets I used to wear and when they broke when I fell while camping I noticed that a 2 inch band of pale on my wrist and next to it is tan.
I miss my pale

Non-painful!!! > > ;; That seems more like removing dead skin than anything else.

That's exactly what it is. It's also bad for your skin, since it's there to protect the layers underneath. If you remove the top layers, you're more easily prone to infection and further sun damage.

Anyway, there's no real quick fix for a tan. You just have to wait for it to fade. Bleaches and soaps can be just as harmful to your skin as scraping. Additionally, bone white skin is not healthy at all even if it is your "natural" tone; you need at least 15 minutes of direct sunlight every day to properly produce Vitamin D so you can process calcium. You're going to get a bit of color in your cheeks with that. Taking vitamins can help, but unless you have a severe skin condition, sunlight really is good for you and a bit of color in your cheeks is better than not.

I still have no idea why people are obsessed with being so damn pale. o_O
