kageling I'm not all that in touch win Chinese music either...sadly, can't even connect to my own heritage, haha. The main problem is that I don't have a source for it. But I do have/recommend the following:
Jay Chou (Zhou Jie Lun) S.H.E. Jill Hsu JJ Lin (Lin Jun Jie) Michael Kong (Guang Liang) Landy Wen A-Mei (Zhang Hui Mei) Elva Hsiao F4 F.I.R. Fahrenheit Jolin Tsai Coco Lee Wang LeeHom
Coco Lee also sings in Canto.
Jay Chou, S.H.E., A-Mei, Landy, Elva, Jolin, F4, F.I.R., and Fahrenheit are all Taiwanese. JJ Lin is Singaporean. Guang Liant is Malaysian but big in Taiwan. Wang LeeHom is Taiwanese-American. So yeah...I'm Taiwanese, so you can guess why I know these in particular. XD ---------->
yay! jj lin! <3

what about Eastyle? they're a brand new Taiwan boyband but their voices are very angelic and so is their songs. Try these songs from them: "Beggars", "Rain", "Freestyle"

morningdew214 wang lee hom JJ (lin jun jie) S.H.E Zhang shao han liang jin ru pan wei bo these singers are pretty good, a mixture of male and female. mm those are really good to start learning manderin with. My manderin improved quite some by listening over and over to Liang Jing Ru's silk road. The words are pretty simple but arent boring begainner words.

I don't listen to Madarin much, but F4, F.I.R., Fahrenheit are a few I know that are really popular.
Also I have a few Madarin songs By Vanness Wu of F4 and KangTa of H.O.T if you want to hear it. ^^

Leehom Wang FIR NanQuanMaMa JJ Lin Fahrenheit Tank SHE (Maybe 'ZhongGuoHua' but it's alot a little hard) Michael Wong Angela Zhang
O_o;; I'm just here listing artists that I like now.. but they're good for learning chinese - mandarin. I won't really suggest Jay Chou (Sorry Jay) because he doesn't really pronounce words properly..
