Paper blinked vacantly at the man for a few moments, her ice blue eyes wide and unassuming. But for a moment, there was something else behind the glassy, pupilless blue.

"I'm Paper," the little ghost chimed after a second. "And it's not nice to curse," she added, hugging her kitten plushie to her chest. She dug her toe into the floor shyly as she glanced sidelong at the masked woman.

"Um.. welcome to the temple."

Or not...This man really was a source of irritation for her and as she released a snort of annoyance she turned her gaze away from him and towards the girl once more. Perhaps if she kept her gaze averted then she wouldn't have the urge to punch him at somepoint and that way they could both avoid any hassle.

That being said, now that she had bowed the woman leapt onto the ledge of the baclony once more and took a seat, tilting the plumed hat downwards to hide her eyes although she made sure to maintain her gaze upon the girl in the process - she didn't want her suddenly materialising right beside her, there would be an accident...

"Temple to what exactly?" She enquired at last.

Roger tried to smile warmly at the creepy little girl, chuckling nervously as he did so. He tried to relax, leaning backwards against the railing, so he could keep his eyes on the girl, and the woman. He really didn't trust either, if push came to shove. One threatened him, the other, was, well, he couldn't quite remember, but knew she was creepy.

"Roger," the man introduced himself to the girl. She hadn't seem to have done anything too creepy, maybe it was just his imagination.

With a giggle, Paper pointed at the window. "Why, this is the Temple of the Crystal," she said rather matter-of-factly. She swung her doll around at her side as she rocked on her heels. "You should know, after all... I mean, t'was the crystal what called ya here, y'know?"

The ghost child almost seemed like she was simply unable to sit still as she continued to rock back and forth, smiling at the two.

"Um... Okay..." Roger muttered, shaking his head, "Nothing called me. You're mistaken. Nothing would call me... I just... um... came long with Dune..." he told the creepy little girl, frowning slightly, "Is this one of those cults with the kool-aid and suicide stuff..." he asked quietly, mostly to himself, as he looked down at his feet.

Yes, now she completely understood why she used her masks to the extend she did, for beneath the venician smile the woman gaped. The girl had explained everything in one simply sentence and had almost seemed to know exactly how she had gotten here, so Dune had been right, it was the crystal that was the cause of her desires.

"How did you know?" She enquired in a rather uncomfortable manner, her shoulders tensing as she surveyed the girl from beneath the ridge of her plumed hat, "And what is that crystal if it holds such gifts as those you speak of?" She continued - well, the girl seemed to know so why not ask?

"Uh.." Paper's glasses slid down her face a little as her mouth hung open in confusion. "You.. you weren't called here?" Again expression changed slightly as dark pupils appeared in her eyes and widened as they fixed on Roger. However the odd look passed after only a moment.

"Well.." the girl said, pouting a little bit. "It doesn't matter, I guess. You're here and stuff.. so... that's what counts."

The ghost tilted her head at the woman, Dune, as she talked. "How'd I know?" Her face scrunched as she regarded the masked lady. "Cause the shadows told me," she whispered, again motioning at the window. "And the crystal," she continued, in her normal tone, "well... the crystal's special. Very special." She nodded sagely at the last part, as if she had just imparted a very important bit of information. But.. of course she hadn't said anything of the sort.

"The shadows told you." Dune repeated, her lips pursing as she mulled the statement over in her mind. To think that the shadows her been her only source of comfort and security in the passed and now they were driving her insane by sending her into the middle of nowhere to stare at a giant crystal that almost seemed to talk to her!

For a while she remained silent as her mind chattered endlessly in regards to the information until at last she had come to some form of a conclusion and continued on her barrage of questions - the poor ghost wouldn't know what hit her by the time the woman had finished her 'interrogation'.

"How is it special?" She murmured curiously, placing her arm against her bent knee as she fixed her gaze upon the ghost girl once more.

Roger shook his head, "No, you want Dune there. She's the talented one and stuff. I ain't anything like that... um... yeah... you don't want me..." he told her, still getting too much of a creepy vibe from her, especially since she didn't answer his question about this being some creepy cult or the like. For once, he was glad he wasn't special or anything, now they had no reason to get him all brainwashed and ready for some mass suicide.

Paper hopped from one leg to the other as she listened to her new friends before finally leaning backwards and landing with a thump on her hind end.

"Masks are funny," the ghost mused out loud before addressing Dune's question. She squinted for a moment, then suddenly her eyes and mouth disappeared. An eerie squeak followed after as Paper felt across her face curiously.

The disturbing act only lasted a minute before Paper missed her missing features and fixed her visage. Snorting, she turned to Dune.

"The Crystal." She rubbed her chin importantnly as she absently started to float. "It's alive and all," Paper offered. "And.. well that ain't normal, y'know. The Crystal feels and stuff. I can tell, it was sad when I got here. It was sad cause it was lonely. So!" She peeped and smiled at Roger. "It doesn't care who you are, it just wants company. And stuff."

Roger's eyes were poping out of his head, and he wore the perfect expression of shock and fear as part of the creepy little girl disappeared, and she rearranged her face right before his eyes. He trembled, and stammered, "Uh... Uh... Uh... Uh... Uh... Uh... Uh... Uh... Uh... Uh... Uh... Uh..." as he leaned back, away from the ghost girl, about two inches from falling over the railing.

The ghost frowned and floated closer to Roger, fixing him with a curious look. "Whassa matter? You look sick." She reached out a pale hand to touch his forehead.

Dune attempted to contain the laughter that threatened to burst from her lips as she watched the interaction between wraith and man - needless to say, she had been rather surprised by the sudden rearranging of the face herself but now that she had begun to watch the wraith more closely she was aware that the girl meant no harm and was therefore more prepared to relax and interact with her on a more light note.

"So you say the crystal is alive - that it has emotions," She continued behind the girl as her gaze fixed upon the pair close to her, "So why is it that it would call to me and not to Roger?" She enquired curiously, "If it wanted company surely it would have called to someone closer - he spends his life in this forest!" She piped up confusedly.

That was the last straw. Roger tried to flinch away. However, there was not more 'away' to flinch to, as the creepy dead girl reached towards him. He leaned back farther, and started wheeling his arms, letting out a terrorfied scream, as he realized he was tipping over, falling over the rail, to the stones below. He had time just for one thought... is this going to hurt a lot, or kill me?

Paper's eyes became completely black as she saw Roger about to fall. Even the tips of her hair darkened to shadow as she quickly reached out with her free hand and grabbed him firmly by the arm.

Her touch much have felt like death.

With more strength than should have been normal for her size, especially with one arm occupied by the cat doll, the ghost pulled the flailing man back onto the balcony.

Paper shook her head, the black fading from her appearance, and scolded Roger. "You should be more careful!!" She pouted and hugged her doll tightly, defensively before turning her head slightly toward Dune.

"You should be faster," she chided. "He could have fallen, y'know.. and bumped his head or something."
