The man looked over at her confused, first her retraction, mid outburst voice, then her seemingly calm, kind-ish voice. He smiled nonetheless, as he pulled out the box, and took out the fresh cards, shaking his head slowly, "Nah... I can do it..." he answered her. At first he bridge shuffled the deck three times. Then, he took it up in his left hand, shuffling it one handed, in a corkscrew manner, a smile on his face, "What do you wanna play?"

At the question a genuine grin flashed up onto her lips, what game did she want to play? As if anyone had to ask! For a while she simply smiled, glanced at the cards and then back towards him in a peculiar manner before her smile seemed to grow and she prepared her short, yet important reply (or at least she considered it important).
"Poker." She chirped, canting her head to the side as she watched the shuffling - poker was a game she had always enjoyed because she was rather good at it, she would elaborate on how she was but well; she was, "It's the only decent card game to play -" She explained, finally dropping her dislike towards him as she leaned forward in preparation for the game, "Plus, it takes a decent amount of intelligence to play!"
Now she would say what metal he was really made of.

The man smiled back at her, finally finishing shuffling, "How about seven card stud, then?" he asked her. After all, there were nearly a hundred different ways to play poker, so why not choose one of the more common?
His hand reached into his right pocket, and he pulled out a small pouch, holding some of his personal gold, setting it on the ground, next to his right knee.
He placed the deck, between him and the woman, waving his hand over it, "Cut."

With a nod the woman lifted approximately half of the cards from the top of the pile and set them beside the other, she then retracted her hand and placed it within her lap as she waited patiently for the cards to be squared and then dealt. She hadn't played this game in a long while due to being busy but now she would see how rusty she had become.
"You know, you never did ask my name." She mused, glancing across at Roger with a hint of a bemused smile appearing in place of her grin, "Too scared of this individual to ask her identity were you, or did you not care?" She enquired at last.

Roger shook his head slightly, as he took up the cards, and slowly dealt, one face down to her, then him, another face up to her, and one to him. Her face up card, was showing the 6 of diamonds, his, the jack of clubs. Her face down card, was a 9 of spades.
"Would it have mattered?" he asked her, smiling a little at her, "And would you have told me the truth anyways," he asked, as he peeked at his face down card, chipping in two gold coins from his pouch, to the pot.

"Sometimes knowing a person's name helps to eleviate misunderstandings," She replied as she glanced briefly at her cards and placed her free hand into a pouch in her waist - she extracted a few coins and tossed them in as though it were the most natural thing in the world to do and released a sigh, "Sometimes knowing a person's name also makes you feel more comfortable." She continued, raising a brow as she glanced at her cards again - yep, she was rusty.
"It's Dune." She murmured at last without even asking if he truly wanted to know it, "And I specialise in espionage - does that quell some of your misconceptions by any chance?" She enquired with a raised brow.

Roger frowned slightly, shaking his head slowly, as he threw in another coin to match Lady Dune's bet. He reached for the deck, and dealt out another card to her, and one to him. Hers was a 7 of diamonds, his, a 2 of hearts...
"Not really. I don't need to know what some spy is doing here. Don't wanna know..." he said slowly, a smile reappearing on his face, "Possible straight, your bet..." he told her.

"No, neither do I," She murmured at last as she lifted her card, quirked a brow in a seemingly satisfied manner and tossed another coin into the centre, she seemed more interested in continuing to talk however and continued to do so, "But to be entirely honest I should be out working - amusing how something like this can drag you away from your best source of income and into the middle of nowhere whereby you are stalked by an unknown man and encounter a very strange crystal through a window." She mused and sat back once more, her gaze drifting along the walls in a distracted manner.
"Have to admit that it is a nice place though."

"Yeah... I know what you mean," Roger said, nodding as he matched the bet, and dealt again. This time, the woman's card was an Ace of Clubs. His was the Queen of Hearts.
He tossed in another two coins, and looked over to Dune, "Eh, I like getting away from work. Bit tedious, and well, the company isn't that great either..."

Paper watched the two people playing cards from her spot on the stairs. She was invisible at the moment, settled in her natural, ethereal state as she observed them with interest. So far they had been the first to come.. aside from that odd zombie, kheleksul, anyway.
With an unseen wiggle, the ghost moved a little further down the stairs.

{ Enter from Outside the Crystal Temple }
The second he stepped into the Main Hall, Eidos wanted to clean. Yes, he knew large forgotten buildings tended to accumulate dust and cobwebs, and yes, he was aware he lacked all cleaning utensils, but nevertheless he was somewhat of a neat freak and this room was not tidy.
Ah well, at least the webs were mostly shadowed and ergo easily overlooked. What was far less easy to overlook was the sight of two people sitting on a brand new carpet and playing cards. Uh...okay...
"Hey," he greeted simply as he walked closer to them, pausing a respectable distance away.

Unaware of the ghost upon the stairs due to the spirit's inate ability to hide from the view of humans, Dune continued to glance between the pot, her cards and Roger. Now that she was within the temple she was suitably relaxed or would have been had it not been for the sight of the new person coming through the doorway into the temple - her expression immediately clouded into one of anger and she promptly dropped the cards into the centre, replaced her mask upon her face and set the plumed hat upon her head.
With that done, she leaned back against the wall once more and simply took to glaring through the mask at the intruder who had decided to interrupt the piece of tranquility she had found now that Roger had become slightly more relaxed in her presence.
"Oh look," She purred, "Another visitor intruding your forest - I wonder how much damage he caused." She snarled and retreated into her own mind once more.

Roger, jumped at the voice, and Lady Dune's reaction, his hands scooping up the pot, his pouch of coins, and the cards, stuffing them quickly into his pockets. He seemed to have had a measure of practice at this, as the whole thing took about one and a half seconds, without even knicking a single card.
The man stood, and ran a few steps away from Dune and the stranger, towards the stairs where he knew not a certain ghost lurked. He was trembling slightly, his heart racing, and he looked about ready to bolt.

Releasing a chuckle, the woman rose to her feet and slipped into the shadows, her masked face warped grotesquely by each individual shape cast upon it by the dancing flames of the lamps within the temple. She wasn't annoyed a great deal by the interruption but what had irritated her was the fact that she had under went so much hell with the weak-kneed man to get here and this new gentleman had reached the temple without any difficulty whatsoever.
"Shall I say it or shall you?" She mused cruelly as she glanced towards Roger and then the man, "Perhaps you lack the courage - so I will," She paused mid-step towards the opposite stairwell that led to the otherside of the balcony and shook her head, "You are not welcome." She murmured as she glanced at Eidos and began to make her way slowly up the stairwell.
