ok, the CD's have the title of Aria but i'm having trouble finding it on the web.

the guy who made them pretty much just took classical Opera and remixed it with new electric. it's really cool but i can't find it so if any one else can help by posting it if you find it, we can spread the joy

I think Vanessa Mae did a similar thing with a Bach piece... My sister likes it a lot, but I have a great recording of the original, so I like the original more.

Jesca Hoop makes me think of Alice with some of her songs. Dunno if you guys will like her, though.

My favorite musical artist alive at the moment has been on an Alice kick for awhile.

Marilyn Manson's new album, called Eat Me, Drink Me wink Is quite Alice themed. Plus, he has been working on a movie for almost a year called.

*drum roll*

Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll. Aside from directing it, guess who Manson plays?

The author, himself. Plus, it's worth mentioning that quite a bit of his previous work has a dreamy, surreal feel similar to the Alice books. (Check out his albums Golden Age of Grotesque or Holywood)

Check him out on IMDB.com for more info about the movie. It's gone a bit cold since his divorce and album, but I have hope it will still be out. 3nodding

And as far as his music goes...Don't be turned off by how he looks (Though, in this guild, I don't think I need to worry about that). The singles he releases tend to be very different than what is on his albums as a whole. If I sound protective of him, well...I am a lil' bit. sweatdrop I had to go through middle and high school with people telling me he had breast implants and ate a puppy onstage. eek

I've never actually heard his music (actually, that's a lie - I listened to him last week at a friends house) but I like him anyway. I want to see Phantasmagoria whenever it comes out, but not as much as I want to see Alice, if it EVER comes out. crying

Regina Spektor is pretty nuts.

Correction: She is insanely mad.

But in the restrained sort of way...

A lot of her lyrics are just plain absurd.

Actually, one band that I happen to like (and hope/think others will enjoy) is Nightwish. I've been obssessed with their song, "The Siren" for the last few days. sweatdrop
Not only Nightwish, but the band Hypnogaja; a friend of mine got me into them, and their song "Looking Glass" is just amazing as anything. heart A lot of dark/melodic metal seems to be in order over on my corner; It helps me get through my art better. sweatdrop
