halo_master Omega Darkness halo_master Omega Darkness I'm getting a job at EB Games, if that counts.
As it turns out EB was secret shopped to no end before Gamestop bought it, and they are still secret shopped more than Gamestop stores, though not as much.(Knows nothing about it) .....Well, there's also a nearby GameStop, but when compared to the EB games, they're worse. What do you think I should do?
That must just be that particular GameStop. Generally EB is worse out here; at least the ones near my store. (Customers say bad things about those stores and compliment us, etc.) We're not too fond of the stores around us either. When we were merging we got a shipment from an EB store. 400+ games DISKS ONLY. wtf. Half of them needed to be re-furbished, and about 30 were so obviously copies that it wasn't even funny.Damn. Yeah, I was guessing that GameStop is generally better than EB Games (from all the talk I hear on Gaia). I've shopped at both, and my EB games has more games and faster customer service than my GameStop. Then again, I haven't been "behind the counters" yet, so I'll just have to hope for the best. Thanks for telling me.

It's just that I got back home after work AKA stupid people giving my associate and myself headcahes, and I had to let off some steam.
Edit: Only 1 out of 4 people spoke English today. I didn't even think that was possible considering as how I rarely find people that can't speak English when I'm anywhere else in this city. (Except at drive throughs. >.>) oh ho ho, that funny. Do you work at gamestop? *steals all your games*

It's just that I got back home after work AKA stupid people giving my associate and myself headcahes, and I had to let off some steam.
Edit: Only 1 out of 4 people spoke English today. I didn't even think that was possible considering as how I rarely find people that can't speak English when I'm anywhere else in this city. (Except at drive throughs. >.>) oh ho ho, that funny. Do you work at gamestop? *steals all your games*
Anyway, I've just updated the guide a bit and added a small visual tour of my store after a horrid customer destroyed it!

And the place I go to, I haven't seen a single person under the age of 13. ...I can't stop thinking about those pictures. Are you not allowed to talk back to the customers, telling them to leave? I can hear myself now, screaming "HEY!" as loud as a firecracker, getting fired in the process. It's just..... God, I'll be having nightmares about this.

Not a technical term, just something we at my store use, but a fiesta is when a bunch of Mexicans come in at the same time. (3-15, seriously) WITHOUT FAIL, -EVERY- time, they knock a bunch of stuff down. (No offense to anyone with Mexican heritage. smile I'm 25%, and half my family is 100%, lol)
If we did that we would get a warning the first time. (At least at my store. Our boss understands and is fairly leniant.) The second time you'd definetly get a write up. The best thing you can do is just let it happen, then clean up after wards. Think about it like this, if someone in a normal mood causes that kind of mess, what could they cause if you piss them off?

"Do you have Dead Rising? | Yes, we just got in like, 20 extra copies. It came out a week ago. | If I pay you $20 will you sell it to me early?" -.-

Does anyone else work at Gamestop?I wokred at Toy R Us int he RZONE [electronics] and Target in the Electronics... I feel you pain all the way.

I hope this doesn't get too off topic, but I can relate like many others.
I actually was going to apply at an EB Games in the mall (My bad if its the enemy), but on my way over I decided to see if I'd be able to get a job at a women's clothing store just for fun. (Wet Seal) Well they hired me on the spot at Wet Seal, so EB was out.
It is retail so it is kinda the same thing - lemmie tell you.... what goes through someone's head when they look at something and DROP IT? They don't just drop it - they leave. I was staring at a customer doing that with the purses. She turns around and looks straight at me after dropping eleven of them, (Yes, I counted) and just smiles, turns and leaves. Don't even get me started on how messy the panty aisles were. Good GAWD.
I could go on but I wont - Just letting everyone know that retail can be a b***h. Although I would rather work at a videogame store. MUCH better than folding t-shirts for about FIVE HOURS STRAIGHT. *eye twitch*

Gamestop owns EB now, after all. Maybe you can up their standards. neutral (Every shipment we get from an EB store SUCKS a**. One time we got 600 games from them. 300 were too damamged to be sold, and 50 were so blantanly copied crap versions that you could tell from across the store. Also, last time any one of my associates was at an EB they employees were always doing some stupid, unproffesional s**t, duing open hours. IE: Last time I went the two workers were throwing stuff at each other from across the store. I mean, c'mon...at least wait untill you've locked the doors.)
Edit: Yeah, folding shirts sucks. neutral I can imagine...because they are so easily unfolded, and most people don't know how to fold, or don't care enough to do it, after looking at a shirt.
