Seffy, I was talking to Angela yesterday (in between her feeding Elizabeth & fending off Sam as he climbed on her & asked for cookies sweatdrop ), & I told her about your doll. She suggested making the horn from Sculpey, then gold leafing it. She said it would be outrageously expensive to have a solid gold horn made. I suppose another option could be to have the horn made from baser metals & then gold-plate it. Did you see the SCA people?

Yep I saw the SCA peoples. The lady who is in charge of out local chapter told me to goto the Machineshoping people on campus. So sometime in the near future I am going to go see if I can find out who I have to talk to in order to get something casted. Aparently they had a jewlery casting class a couple of years ago. Maybe for a 1/3rd (she has a 1/3rd scale) or 1/4th scale model it would be ridiculous to cast something for them but a 1/6th scale it would be within reach.. especialy since I have pure gold that they can cast with. I am definitly not makeing it out of sculpey... I work with it and for something like that it would be prety tacky even with it being gold leafed. I would know it was plastic clay under the gold leaf.. If all else fails I'll try to find some gold wire and shape a horn out of that.

You could probably make a very cool & interesting horn with artfully twisted wire! 3nodding

Angela has more doll pics up on her LJ, Seffy (also an entry about Ernesto I find amusing...she actually got on the cellphone & talked to me a while during what she describes there because I recognise the situation...). mrgreen
