I didn't do a whole lot of anything as a judge. The times I was online and reading, there didn't seem to be alot of complaints that couldn't be resolved among the players. The complaints that were their, were solved before I got there.
Overall however, it was very enjoyable to read, and despite the fact that I didn't do much judging, i'd love to judge or help out in some way in another event like this.
I will agree however and say it was too short, and at the begining I was completely lost in how the system worked. I think I got a grasp on it now...maybe..
Good job though, and contact me if anything comes around.
I'll be back for results n' such.

I loved the event, the mines took me for a spin, but other then that I was loving it. The only thing we need to change, Swat Zombie’s idea but a very good one, is that teams should all post together. There were a lot of times when, depending on who attacked who you wouldn't get a post before they were forced to react on their turn. Team based turns would let the team post before or after each other, for set up team attacks, and defend one another as well.
All and all, loved the capturing of locations, loved the dam, almost had a heart attack over the artifact, and still think that the settlers could have 6-manned Omnikron. blaugh
Well, there’s always next time, and I’m definitely coming back!

'twas awesome. Seemed like time was a little short, but after the chaos that was PoC, maybe short was good. Considering my innate belief that I for some reason have to be online constantly.

What can I say, it was a great event and I enjoyed taking part in what I could.
Unfortunately I become ill Friday night and Saturday I was really bad so I did not appear Saturday, I just managed to be able to take part today. But the time I did take part, I really enjoyed it.
Yes there was acouple of things against it-
1. It was too short, it should like others of said been held over a week or longer. With the objectives being laid out abit further and if it was longer some more objectives to go for.
2. I was abit confused on where to start from, when I first came in. I wish there could of been thread titles like- Shades Base, start point etc.
3. And one last point, which is a small one. Was to set like a time were everything stopped so that there was a clear rest period for people to go and get some sleep, then it would be up to the individual when they continued on the next day.
I can not wait for the next one, please let me know when the next one is coming up.
Also thankyou to Shades, who were a great team. I was glad to be apart of them.

Lanceian I loved the event, the mines took me for a spin, but other then that I was loving it. The only thing we need to change, Swat Zombie’s idea... S T A T ENGLISH, ********, DO YOU USE IT? - Harhar, Honestly, I didn't say it any better. What I have to say was awesome was hanging out in the Miner's chat-room during the event, working with everyone in real-time... Even if it mostly was to figure out what the heck was happening. Whoever's idea that was (I believe it was another teams...), thanks, it made the event for me. The size and scale were awesome, but the fights becoming huge, many-hour events started to suck. I loved working on the team, with NPCs and objectives, but people I think started to see this as Competitive PvE, instead of PvP. For me, that actually made for a better event on the 'fun' level. When the UGH mercs pull out a minigun and strafe the enemy lines, s**t shoudl be going down. Rooks and Bishops are supposed to be powerful, frightening enemies as capable as a mortal mage, PC or not. On the other hand, it also made the tournament-side of the event fall apart. This, however, was not something I've ever enjoyed playing in. Strategy and tactics have always been more important to me, and make for a better event to read than two people shaking their e-cocks at each other. Exceptions [see Moo, Vahn] of course exist, but for the large part objective and tool use seemed to make things more interesting. Anyways, great team guys, and I'll be back/stalking you in the future. Maybe even deserting you to fight the entire enemy team alone, too.

Addressing a few points people are bringing up.
1. While I agree that 3 days is a little short for everything that we wanted to accomplish, especially when battles would take a good 8 hours of nonstop wailing on things in order to reach some sort of tenative conclusion...
On Friday I was here from 12 PM until 2 AM moderating things. On Saturday I was here from 3 PM until 8 AM moderating things. On Sunday I was here from 2 PM until we ended moderating things.
That's 39 hours in three days that I spent, in this chair, in two different chatrooms, with three other IM windows open, keeping track of three different threads AND any movement on the thread index.
To make a better RPing experience for the rest of you. To keep things moving, so that it didn't seem like a bunch of empty, useless threads that had no NPC life other than what you gave it. To stop arguments before they got out of hand.
I would have loved to do a week with this... but it's really hard on us. sweatdrop
2. This is probably just a continuation of 1, but... it rolls 24 hours a day, as per what the poll vote said. We were originally going to throw down 6 or 7 hour posting windows for the event, but since a lot of people are in different time zones and have obligations which can keep them from participating at some points, we thought we'd be a little more generous. We wouldn't have had that awesome seige of the ******** Alamo if it weren't for the ability to continue at odd, even insane hours. o__o;;
People can interact whenever they want... however, with all the judges offline, there's a limit to how much action we can throw out. Things pretty much stopped once JB decided to go to bed, and I think that was for the best honestly.
3. Team chat is a must, and enriches the experience. We've been doing event chatrooms since Grand Wish back in September 2003. It's just great to be able to plan and coordinate a strategy with your team in real time. To be able to get info about things happening in threads you're not watching, so that everyone is on the same page.
4. Rock on, people. Rock on. *Salute.* I only wish those of you who didn't get to participate much had had more time...
However, on the same note, I can't take another day of this.

I would have liked another day. But that's more of a selfish thing, as weekends are my busy, I can't get to a comp for more than five minutes, times of the week. Friday, and Sunday Early Morning were the only times I could really get a chunk of playing in.
That said, I liked it. No big problems that I saw or experienced. Most of us have been in several events now, we know what to expect and how to play nice. Or at least we should.
Somehow, the time between the RP starting in the pre-event shade thread and the event seemed a little short. I would have loved to have another week. I was actually planning on going back to the village and doing the inside man thing.
Now I just have to go and backread over all the chaos I missed... and find out what happened to my character's body/location while I was gone.

I don't have much to say, only that I wish the event had lasted longer. We had a powerout in my city that finally ended about an hour ago.
It was really fun, only more moderation would have helped keep some people in check.
Also, maybe a post that showed you how to get everywhere, like a map that said which threads linked to which, and where you'd eventually end up. That'd be helpful.

I think the best fight in the event was Mooo vs Vahn.
Even if it had a shaky start and wierd interrupt from Stryphe.

Indubitably It was really fun, only more moderation would have helped keep some people in check. Also, maybe a post that showed you how to get everywhere, like a map that said which threads linked to which, and where you'd eventually end up. That'd be helpful. On the second day we finally got a map up in the 'thread dominance' sticky. Probably should have made an announcement about it, though. We were short 4 moderators pretty much the entire week. crying Vahn Kyonuske I think the best fight in the event was Mooo vs Vahn. Everyone who was there agrees.

Yeah. More than half our staff suddenly had things come up this weekend.
There were supposed to be me, Dan, and Jello, then the two "heroes" on each side. Nine of us should have made for plenty of moderation. Only most of our heroes either couldn't make it at all, or could only make it for short amounts of time.
I was lucky, Fish stuck by me a lot of the time.
It's tough for us to keep track of everything going on. We tried, and will try even harder next event.

I don't think there's anyway to adress hours without cutting it real short to a few per day, which would limit what gets to happen, but...
I would personally suggest an event run for about a week. Two days of objective and moderator work, followed by a 'moderator's day off' where there were no objectives given and in camp/team rp'ing was incouraged over fighting or other things that might need a judge to do something they don't feel like.
Then repeat the 2-1 thing until your event is over.
Side note: It was nothing, Owle. But I rock anyway. cool

SoG, for what it was worth, ended up fine. Plenty of debate on all sides about problems and what not, but the mods that were on duty handled it well enough that no one tried to kill each other...much.
Kudos to you lot for organizing a good time for all! 3nodding

Same issue we always have with these things. And despite the stress, BS and etc, it still always ends up being a whorthwile experience. Good job.
