I bought my dress for junior prom recently!! O.O
It's lolita...but I got it from Hot Topic *dies*
Okay, well originally, I was going to get a different dress from a website, but it was like...triple the price of the dress I have now. Plus, when I found my current dress, my mom right away said "Well, you know websites can be so unreliable..." But in mom language that means "Less money = very good."
But when I told her that it looked fake-ish and not as pretty as the other one, she got all excited and told me that she would help me make it look a hundred times better than it does now. So yay <3
DX I can't seem to find it on the web site...but I'll get pictures of the finished product <3

I want to wear an amaloli dress to my prom in May. But does anyone have any suggestions or photos of dresses that might be appropriate? Cause I really have no idea.

My husband and I did Loli for my Senior prom and then His Senior prom (dirffent outfits though)
On mine we did Bunnies (after my nickname ^^) I wore Pink, white, and black. I even had a cute parasol (my first one and i was soooo excited over that) and a pink and black cape made for me to keep me warm (its was soooo cold that night so i was thankful even if it didnt blend in with my outfit so much) but we both wore bunny ears and i have a tail just to add a little cute to it.
His prom we did Red and Black. its was a mix of Mideval/goth/loli. But its what he wished for. I eaven made matching kitty ears. I dont think i'll wear black velvet anytime soon. Way to hot ^^
Oh yeah... I like how the ears look with a top hat. ^^ just a little added comment. ~sigh~ I miss high school. sweatdrop

Why does that have to be a problem? I was going to ask my best friend, bu then my other friend didn't have anyone to go with so I let her take my friend instead. So now he's just going to ask someone to go with me, just for the prom, it's not like it's really meaningful, I just don't want to go by myself. But even if I have no date, I'm still going.

I am not going to Prom. I don't like the kids at my school. I don't trust them, and they don't like me. I am a guy and I don't want to wear a Tux. Guys only look good in Tuxs but I dont know.
What would be good for a guy to wear that is Victorian. And kinda male-lolita typish??? No skirts for this LAD!

It wouldn't be so much of a problem if it weren't for my promise. I promised myself when I was younger that if I didn't have a boyfriend, I wouldn't go to prom. It just seems silly to pay so much money to go to a dance that doesn't even play music I like with friends. Only a special moment with a boyfriend would be worth that. Aristotratic boy outfits are soooo adorable.

I was a fairy princess for my prom-- wasn't so much into Lolita at that point. I even had "glass" slippers, and my train had "wings" that fluttered out when I walked. They were so cute, so random, and so pointless.
I asked one of my guy friends to take me, as I'd sort of had a great big old crush on him [and it was mutualish-- that's a long story] and thought we'd have fun. Dinner was definitely the best part of the night. We rented a private room at a sushi restaurant in town and ate dinner there with a group of our friends [even though he and I were the only promgoers for the night].
To be honest, I don't think that I would do it a different way. Lolita's cute, but I think that I wouldn't have been very comfortable during the event-- and my dress was so lovely. ^^;

Ooo! I am so happy ^.^
We voted on prom themes today at school, but it was a private vote so we won't get to know what it is for a while.
The 3 choices ended up being:
Shanghai Moon (maroon, navy blue and gold as the colors)
Medditeranian (white, gold, light blue)
A Knight for a Princess (pastels, grey, blue)
Really, all of these would be pretty nice for a sweet lolita theme especially with the pastel colors for Med. and AKforaP...buuuut
I'm bias and really want it to be Shanghai Moon. And my dress is GothLoli...so pastel = not that awesome.

I've been planning on totally splurging on some super expensive loli dress for next year. So I'll either be dressed loli for prom or as one of the Disney Princesses sweatdrop

I'm recreating the Same black and white stripped dress from Sleepy Hollow (Adding a bit of original touches also.. I think it'd look at lot cuter if it was bundled in the back more than it was in the actual movie ^^'')
I think doing sweet loli for junior prom is a fantastic idea! Good luck and have fun at it<3
