Agnostic, I guess. I do think there's a higher power out there, but I'm not sure what it is.

I'm studying Wicca/Neo Paganism, although I'm a bit nervous to try and follow the practices considering my family. sweatdrop And I HAVE read some of those ridiculous 'fluff bunny' authors, and they honestly make me sick.

Born, raised, and still remain to this day a Lutheran.
It's all about the food anyway. Kidding, only kidding. wink
My beliefs do not allow me to pass judgement on others and, as such, prevent me from imposing my own values unto them -- I do make an exception to this rule when it comes to harming others, as I don't like the idea of suffering.

I'm an agnostic atheist, I guess. I'm pretty much just flat atheist.
I come from a father with little religion, and a strictly Christian mother. ^^

RMarques Really? Catholics object to being called Christian? I tought it was Protestants that didn't consider Catholics Christians. o_O I'm Agnostic... I was raised Catholic, but meh, Religion just sounds like a bad idea to me... Buddism does interest me, even tough it's probably because they're atheists xd I dunno, but there's some people out there who don't consider Catholics to be Christians. I can't keep them all straight. xd not related: WAITWAITWAIT. I just remembered. I'm Pastafarian. I DEMAND REPRESENTATION! xd

MipsyKitten I would like to hear why 'cult' was in the same option as 'Pagan'. A cult is not a religion. Being a Pagan, I found being lumped in with cults (most of which are Christian in their main religious beliefs) really offensive.

RMarques sybex Shark Joselle`Stark sybex Shark I'm atheist/weak atheist/atheistic agnostic. Something like that.
My family is Christian, nonspecific. Occassionally, when he's drunk, my dad starts rambling about Jesus and Republicans, but that's as religious as we get. xd
Um... why is Protestantism separate from Christianity? O.o I was going to ask why Catholicism was separate too. They're all the same thing. Why not just put "Abrahamic religions"? For some reason Catholics sometimes object to being called Christians, but Protestants... If Protestants aren't Christians, what's left of Christianity? Really? Catholics object to being called Christian? I tought it was Protestants that didn't consider Catholics Christians. o_O I'm Agnostic... I was raised Catholic, but meh, Religion just sounds like a bad idea to me... Buddism does interest me, even tough it's probably because they're atheists xd Indeed. Catholics ARE Christian. Some Fundamentalist (Protestant) Christians believe that Catholics are not. This poll is rather offensive, actually.

Christianity encompasses both Catholicism and Protestantism.
It would be easier and free up more space in the poll to just put a Christian option and that would be that.
Abrahamic religions would encompass Juddaism, Christianity, and Islam thus freeing up even more room the poll.
A cult is not a religion. It would be easier to simply put "pagan" as an option.
It would also probably be best to put an "other" option, in case you forget any.
Atheist/angostic would also be a better option because atheist means 'no religion' and I'm sure agnostics don't mind being lumped with atheists.

My mom does that; she believes Wicca and Paganism are cults and won't let me practice Wicca because of it. She doesn't think it's a real religion.

Jewish!
(And btw, mildly offended by you lumping Jews and Messianics together... Messianic Jews are just Christians who think acting Jewish makes them 'special' xp )

Captain_Theoretical Atheist/angostic would also be a better option because atheist means 'no religion' and I'm sure agnostics don't mind being lumped with atheists. Atheism is simply the disbelief in god(s) and/or dieties. There are some atheistic religions. 3nodding Like LaVeyan Satanism, for example. And some sects of Buddhism (?).

What is my religion, you ask? Hmmm, this one is actually pretty tough. I used to identify myself as pagan (12 years in fact), but I found that that particular label simply didn't encompass the varied and somewhat un-paganey beliefs I had developed over time (and the fact that most pagans disgust me also had a hand in me no longer referring to myself as one. neutral )I guess you could say that I am just spiritual, and do not abide by any particular religious doctrine.

ANSWERS!
1) Why seperate Catholic christian and protastant?
-Because I've had enough european history force fed to me that There was no way I could handle putting them under the same title, even merging Protastantism and Christianity.
Like wise I felt that if I had to merge anything it might as well be the category of my own religion, just to ensure I offended no one.
2) Why is "Cult" in with Paganism? ect.
- My mother is Pagan, so understand I am trying to not offend anyone with this. I put paganism, And wicca in with cults and earth religions, because sometimes cults consider themselves religions in much the same way as Paganism and Wicca are. While I understand that Cults are cults, and Paganism, wicca and other earth born religions are NOT CULTS they kinda fell in the same kind of "Other" area that I was attempting to form... Sorry!!!
Thanks everyone for participating!!
