"Not the strangest? Ah well, that would make it easier for sure. And dogs are quite happy and content creatures aren't they? Never owned one myself but I have met alot. Belonging to my friends and that."
D smiled more as Iden described Sidney, and velvets in general too, as 'neat'. She was rather proud of her little charge, as any mother would be and she was also glad Iden didn't seem upset or disturbed at all by this strange phenomenon. "Ah yes, just about growings and things. You know, about velvets since Iden here is new to it all." D followed Idean answer to Sidney.
Sidney paused and studied the pair with his golden still-rather-reptilian eyes. "Yeah I've grown! Ssso that would mean Tobler will too. Can't wait. You can't really play very well when they're sstill a plusssh. As for strange thingss..." He tilted his head and thought for a moment. "Cooking iss sstrange." He stated. "D alwayss cookss her food but I like it fine either way. And raw iss eassier to sswallow."

"Sometimes I wonder if I don't attract weird things somehow." Iden grinned wryly. "Yeah, a lot of dogs are that way. Depends on the breed and all that. I've had a few. None right now, though." Well, she didn't have any ordinary ones, anyway.
"Raw, huh? I've always sorta wondered what that would be like.." She scratched her head, the shrugged, half-smiling. "But I'm stuck forever wondering, unless I wanna make myself sick."

"Attract strange things? Well maybe you're just lucky. And yes, breed and upbringing influences it quite a bit. I know it does with caits. Ah, a kind of cat-like animal I breed as a living." She explained. "Well, you'll have something a bit different to a dog soon." D nodded at the inanimate plush.
D pulled a face and chuckled at Meep's answer to Sidney's raw-meat comment. "Yeah Sid, we can't eat raw meat. Makes us ill. Or probably would. Some foods have raw meat in them. But I think I'll stick with Iden and leave that to those with stronger stomaches."
"Doesn't make me ssick." Sidney stated. "And cooked iss okay I guesss. Not bad." He shrugged and got out his scrap of paper again. This time he slithered off the other way, going around the couch and then stopping to draw some things on it.

"Or unlucky, as the case may be." Iden chuckled, shaking her head. "Caits, huh? I met Naraka's. Suta, right?" She watched Sidney slither on his way, smiling a bit, then nodded. "Yeah, guess I will have. I've got a couple of things around that are at least dog-like, so he'll have some good company, I hope."

D smiles and nods to the other woman. "Yeah, Suta. His 'little girl'. She's a cait." The blonde replied with a grin and shifted to make herself more comfortable on the couch. She absently plucked up a cushion and held it in her lap, leaning back against the soft back of the couch.
"Unlucky? Well I don't know about that. And dog-like? I think I get ya. Some people bring in some very curious pets I've never even heard of before. Not to mention some of the customers are rather.. on the exotic side themselves."
Sidney wanders off, seemingly too focused on his 'work', until he's slithered out of sight around the other side of the couch.

"A few of 'em are kind of a pain to have around, so I'm not sure I'd consider myself lucky to have them." Iden pushed down one of her armwarmers a little, partly revelaing what looked like some bad cat scratches. "One of my nyokiir, a little gryphon sort of thing, hates just about everyone," she said by way of explanation.
"Yeah, most of mine are the curious sort." She nodded, pulling Toby into her lap now that he was no longer the subject of any investigations. "The customers exotic, too, huh? I think I've met one or two who qualify."

Being in the pet-breeding business herself, D wasn't unfamiliar with scratches. And these ones on Iden certainly looked like they were from something small and feline. But she wasn't expecting the answer to be a gryphon. She gave a blink. "Oh a gryphon sort of thing? Never seen one of those before. But ah, if he hates everyone..." D gave a nervous chuckle, "..then I'm not sure if I want to."
"Yeah some of the customers... well, aren't human. Let's put it that way. Obviously you've met Naraka. And there's one or two others yes." She didn't know exactly who else Iden had met and those who she might consider exotic. And D decided it probably wasn't too polite to go giving away the fact that LP was an ex-demon or that Kanth was a shape-shifter.

"Well, Tor'en's a bit of an exception, thank god." Iden grinned a little as she pulled her armwarmer back up. "I've got several others who're much nicer. I could bring one of 'em by some time, if you want?"
"Not exactly your normal clientele." She chuckled, intrigued rather than put off in any way. "Bet it can make for some interesting times, no doubt."

"Ah I see. Well that's good, for your arms." D gave her a sympathetic smile and nodded. "Oh yeah, I'd love to see one. A better temptered one prefferably. I can't say I've seen a gryphon before or anything like it. I'm rather curious." She gave a sheepish laugh and brushed her hair back. "If it wasn't a problem of course. And they let most animals in here. As long as they're not a danger to anyone or anything."
She paused and thought for a second on Iden's other comment. "Oh yes, certainly been some interesting... times. On the whole everyone is fine and there's usually no trouble. I do... get a little worried about one or two, to tell you the truth. Not that they aren't nice enough of course. But some are into more... dangerous passtimes than others and it can be a bit of a concern when it leads back here. Iris and Naraka are dead set against any of their customers coming to harm though."
Suddenly Sidney slithered out from under the couch, right by the girls' feet. He grinned up at them and put down his pencil nub. "Finissshed!" He stated happily and surprisingly quick (snakes are faster than people think) he coiled and climbed up D's ankle and leg until he had reached the couch again.
"Here." He announced proudly, spreading out the scrap of paper on the cushion in front of him. "I've made a map of the sshop."
The 'map' however looked as though it was only understandable by Sid and was covered in all sorts of lines and swiggles. A couple of spots had a bold X on them and he had gone to the trouble of drawing a pointer in the corner to show which way was north.
