He wouldn't go as far as saying she wasn't a freak, but he certainly didn't mind her. Well. Her powers, anyways. "Maybe you'll understand when you're just a little older." Fedha was beyond his years, in a lot of ways it seemed.

When she looked like she was about to begin crying he winced a little and made a harsh, hushing sound. "I'll let you know a little secret. I can see the future too, in my dreams." Now he didn't know if she'd believe him or not, but whatever.

"Really?" She couldn't help but shuffle forwards slightly, drawn to him through curiosity. Maybe that's why he was the way he was? That would explain a lot of things. Her mood swings were caused byher powers too and she was sure she'd have been a perfectly happy cub if it weren't for them.

"So there's others like me?" Her tears dissapeared under her smile and for a moment it seemed like maybe she was warming up to Fedha. With him she didn't feel alone anymore.

"Why Fedha? Why are we...different from others?"

Good! He had hooked her. Well, he hoped he hooked her. "Yes, there are others like you. It seems there are a lot like you in this pride, even. I met another girl some days ago. She's black in color.." He shrugged lightly. "She left though."

At the shortening of his name his expression grew stoney. "Fedha'Kialio." He corrected her. "Don't shorten it." He didn't eve say please, how nice.

"And... we're different because we are what balances out the mortals and the gods." Ah he had come up with this on his long walk after meeting Mrost. How special he still felt, not even the gods could control them once they knew the full impact and understanding of their powers. "Though we are mortal... if we use our powers right... not even the gods could stop us." At this he began to look a little power-hungry, a little unnerving.

"Really?" She hadn't met many cubs or any lions really but she had no idea that she was not so unique. If there were others like her she wanted to find them and talk with them. Only they could truly understand.

In fact she had no idea that her father himself was a seer.

"Why don't you like your name shortened?" She asked with a frown, "I let others shorten my name if they wish..."

"My sister says we're related to a God." She piped up suddenly, "maybe I was blessed with this power to keep the God away?" She tilted her head slightly. "But I never really believed my sis about that anyways, if we were related to a God we would have had wings."

His tail flicked in a slightly annoyed manner. "Because, Ivie'lingwa, a name was given to us for a reason and to shorten it is surely an insult to it." It was just what Fedha believed, that anything less than the full name was an insult to the bearer and even the parents who gave it.

His eyes flashed, ears perking. Coincidence? Maybe. "I met a god the other day. He said not all gods have wings. If that's the case you wouldn't necissarily be born with wings..." Actually Fedha didn't know much about genetics, he just guessed this would be so. But it was interesting that she could come up with the idea of keeping a possible relation away. That certainly was a coincidence to his other conversation with the god.

"I never thought about it like that..." She said slowly, finding some truth in his words. If her name was meant to be short she would have been given a short name. She sniffed lightly and nodded in confirmation.

"What's the point of being a God without wings?" She huffed, slapping her tail against the ground.

"I wish I could give my powers to someone else. I don't want them anymore." She let her ears droop. "I want to cuddle with mother and father...I want to pounce my brother and sister..."

Yup, that was the idea behind it. "How would I know, do I look like a god to you?" One day he would! One day! "Besides it's not just like flight is the only thing they're gifted with. That's silly, I bet some with out wings have the best powers of them all. They gave up their gift of flight for something better." Fedha was just making this all up on the spot, but he also heard the words and thought them very good and an educated guess.

Oh no! He hated when girls did this sentimental crap. "Is it only when you touch them... or can they touch you and you get a story?" Maybe the contact had to do with it, what could Fedha know?

"When they touch me too..." She sighed softly, wishing that her vision could come to her when she slept. Atleast then she'd be allowed contact. "It first happened when my brother woke me up. He nudged me and I saw images of him and mother sitting out on the grass."

A pointless vision yes, but what could one expect from the first encounter with her powers?

Only time would tell if her powers would grow more useful.

"I thought it was just a dream, but it kept happening..."

He was still a little skeptical. "Well then only touch those you know that won't give you horrible visions right now... like your brother." Well maybe that wasn't really the way to go about things.

"If you always fear your power... how will you ever control it?" Ah now this was part of Fedha that was trying to manipulate her. Did she know she could control such things? "You know.. I'm here to learn to control my own power. Only seeing things when I am asleep is useless... to me."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 10, 2006 5:37 am

She nodded slowly and thoughtfully. "I suppose control would be good, but how? If I learned to control it could I finally touch others without being afraid?" Since meeting Fedha she seemed to have grown up a little.

"I don't want to fear it anymore..." She crawled forwards a little more, finding herself growing more and more curious about this seer.

"You want visions when you're awake too?"

See, this was easy! He was slowly building trust with this cub... maybe he could convince her to touch him and see his story. It would just take a little bit. "How should I know? I guess you can find that out only by yourself. I don't even know if I can have visions while I'm awake."

He watched her crawl forward, his eyes lighting up just a little. "Yes, I do. I don't know how painful they would be though... sometimes I get headaches from my dreams. They've never been too bad, though." He actually had physical pain to deal with, when his visions were involved. Just think if he could learn to 'dream' while being awake. Headache city.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 10, 2006 5:52 am

"I s'pose..." She said, looking a little disheartened. "Well if learning to control it means using it then I don't know if I want to. I don't want other people's memories in my head, there won't be enough room in there for my own memories if I kept doing it."

She moved even closer to him as he spoke of his own pains, realising that with great power came pain. Perhaps all seers suffered for their cause.

"I'm sorry Fedha'Kialio...I didn't realise your powers made you hurt too."

He wondered if her powers could even be controlled at all. Or his own, for that matter. "Well. I heard of one that could maybe teach me how to control mine.... maybe he could teach you too.."

At the next words Fedha was mostly pleased to hear his full name, and it put her up a notch on his 'likable' post. A very hard feat, truly. "It's not so bad, and usually they don't last too long.. I sure wish I could find the seer who I hope to learn from, though."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 10, 2006 6:02 am

"Does the seer live around here?" She questioned, ears perking up at this new information. Maybe if she found this seer too he could help her with her own troubles.

"I'm glad your headaches aren't too bad, it wouldn't be nice to be in pain all the time. Do you dream everytime you sleep? Or is it similar with me in that it only occurs sometimes?"

She raised a forepaw to pat lightly at an insect that scuttled past. Luckily for her that bugs were too stupid to have any strong enough memories to pass on visions.

"He lives in the pridelands, I'm just not sure how to find him." Sometimes Fedha could be a little stupid, why didn't he just offer the name of the seer?

"No, not every time I sleep. And I only know that because I always remember the visions, if not what they mean... and sometimes I wake up with out remembering anything." Not even normal dreams, sometimes.

He watched her pat the bug, and smirked to himself. She could be friends with bugs! A hoorid thought, really.
