Jem, arriving with her team, and a lazy smile on her face, removed her helmet and slowed to a walk as she approached the small group in front of the offices. There was that man again, the one she'd seen leaving the brothel area. Ah, well. She didn't hold his sexual pursuits against them. Men didn't seem to have the willpower of women. Besides, who cared if he got an STD? She didn't.

Catching part of his plan, the 5'4" redhead frown up at him, now at his side, and raised a brow, eyes half closed in a deceptively drowsy fashion.

"Wait, you want to put oil in the river? Ugh... Have you even thought that through...? Some of the camp gets water from there, you know."

Still...

"... Why would you need to?"

Turning to the new commer Quin gave her a quick look over and shrugged. Giving a slight smile as his eyes took on a devilish glint.

"It's really quite simple really. We deny them the use of the river. I'll also note that we are up stream, thus are own water supplies will be safe."

"True enough, but..."

She sighed, and shook her head. She encountered this type a lot, those that were willing to destroy shamelessly as long as they came out on top. Nijemi didn't support the company that was destroying the Vale, she supported the miners, like her father, that were being attacked simply for doing their jobs.

"... Mmph. I've a few men with me. You said ya needed supplies taken up? Tell me they won't all get their asses killed, and ya got 'em."

A charming smile from the girl, and she blew short red strands of hair off one side of her face as she shifted her helmet under her arm.

Skinner's Office

"Sir..." Ji Long's shallow grating voice hissed electronically in the room as he adressed the head man himself, though he was nowhere to be seen, as if waiting for any orders to be passed down through the ranks, or to be performed personally.

The man would be in the room with the boss, taking orders directly from Skinner himself. The UGH soldiers however, were in the camp, patrolling the area and on alert, ready to roll out into the hostile environment.

With the report coming into the camp of the situation, the soldier waited for an command.

Quin shook his head for a moment and sighed. There was no way he could keep that promise. Leaning back against the wall he looked at her and chewed on his lip for a moment before speaking. His words were soft to begin but the whisper was enough.

"I can't promise that. This is a war zone and while your men would be appreciated I need more then them for this opperation."

Pausing for a moment before continueing he looked back across the room.

"What's their equipment? They can join and help. The more there are the less likely they'll get killed. Fire superiority and all that."

A chuckle from low in her throat and she shrugged, fluidly, before shaking her head.

"We're a tacticle unit. Strategy over fire superiority. I'm not a big gal, I know it, so I've got to use the mess in my skull to survive. I don't know if I can't help you, if you're th' gung-ho type."

Her mischevious smile suggested that she didn't mind either way, helping him, or wandering back to camp to cheat more men of their money in cards.

"Taticle is one thing, but when the s**t hits the fan getting fire superiority is a good thing. Even in a small unit, but if your more the stealth and recon type in which case then it's better to get the hell out of Dodge."

Quin didn't know where Dodge was, he assumed it was a place; but he had liked the sound of it when he had heard it not so long ago.

"Really, I'd love to do something simple. We can load your men up with explosives and set about setting up shop in the caves and mines."

Thinking on his feet he began to alter his plan.

"What we can do is take the trucks as far as the depot and what once was the grass field and the first of the woods. Then we can split and head up into the hills."

Quin was more for subterfuge and court politics and manuevers. A game of chess was always appreciated, but here he felt as though he didn't have all the pieces and part of the board was missing.

"Yes, lets split up and be devoured by the enemy."

A grin showed she was joking, but obviously the type of girl who predicted the end of horror movies, and was usually correct. Nodding, she slid her helmet on once more, and signalled rapid-fire sign-language, not american sign, that was for sure, to her comrades, who silently began to check their weapons.

"Give us the goods, and we're set to roll."

Grinning back at her he shook his head for a moment. She was interesting, possibly a woman he could grow to like; but he doubted it.

"Head to the warehouses and we'll get up some supplies. I'll hit the barracks to grab some additional warm bodies. The fires of war never seem to have enough tender."

When he began to move out the door she would see that he had a rather pronounced limp in his left leg and had to steady himself with a hand out along the wall.

With a brief relay but as quick as radio waves can travel Quin's message was coming in at the office.

"This is Quin, I have taken the twilight woods. We currently have ten troops plus a driver and a dump truck protecting the area. They should have set up some traps for any hostiles so they should be all right for a while but any heavy fighting and they'll be gone.

So you might want to send them some re-inforcements.

We have also taken the Mountain Pass and are preparing to taking the mines and network of caves. I have some demolition experts with me to help with a little blasting, maybe we'll strike gold."

Further messages would come in that the Skinner Mining Corporations Mercenary Army had taken the Dank Caverns, Northern Climb, and the Lightless Caves. The ones on the Northern Climb would ask for troops to back them up as they didn't know if they could hold the position by themselves.

A general order is issued by radio throughout the entire camp.

'All hired hands in the vicinity fall in by the barracks. Stragglers will be shot.'

It was an official order.

One of the UGH soldiers which remained in camp would take position to relay information from the strike team to the camp. Also, others would be there to inform other mercenaries on their location incase they wished to join them.

This message was delivered to all men out in the field over the radio.

Quote:

Did you see the light yesterday? That shining beacon of destruction that destroyed our dam? I want that light. I want that power for our side.

Our spies intercepted a message from the Shades, talking of a beacon of light, hidden somewhere in the mountains. An object of great power, so great that great lengths must be taken to even remove it from its resting place.

Retrieve that object. Even if we can't use it, we can't let the enemies get ahold of it. Keep it in your possession and away from the enemies until the magic which draws it towards the ruins in the center of the vale has faded.

The UGH strike team radioed in a request

'Secure the dam made bridge.

Supplies and men are requested to secure the area of the Fueling Depot and the dam which have now formed a bridge connecting the Blazing Plains and Crescent Plains over the water.'
