Sunstrike stopped in surprise, waving Flare to c'mon. When she caught up at a slow jog he smiled softly.
"Yeah, I'll be alright...just...a little out of it."

"Good," Flare said, opening her wings to glide alongside him. It took less energy than jogging, after all.
Out of it?
An out of it Sun. A white mage she didn't trust. Shades of unknown capability.
Flare sighed. She couldn't exactly leave them alone, could she?
She would miss the fireworks at the fuel depot, but she could always head there once she was sure Sun and Sey and the shades were safe.

A crater would suddenly form in the ground. A rook had fallen from the sky, and was now running full tilt through the plains.

Not stopping for anything the shade made his way across the plains... Though even running this fast it would take a bit.

After quite the run, the rook made it to some trees...
Twilight woods or none, the rook was going straight through.

Landing upon the grass of the plains, standing there she would begin to look about just to make sure there was no danger. Her wings would fold back up then disappear into her back until they were needed again, She would let her senses sweep out over the land again to get a feel for where she had to go.

The four of them raced through the plains like hell was on their tail.
"No time..." Sun muttered. They all seemed rather strange, he and Flare, clothed in black, and this white being whom Sey rode piggy back.
He almost missed Lenne and his eyes widened. He knew her.
"LENNE PROTECT THE RUINS!!!"
And he was gone, Flare and something white and armed behind.

Seeing something approaching fast she took up guard, then as Sun and the others got closer she began to recognise who it was. But why were they moving so fast, making sure she was out of the way she heard what Sun had to say.
"What the hell....yeah sure..."
Lenne would watch as all of them take off, she lowered her guard now as she saw it was only them. Looking out over the plains she wondered where the shades that were following her had gone, she hoped as she was travelling across the plain that they would see her and follow to the ruins.
"Where are those shade?..."

No sooner had she said then they all formed up out of the grass in front of and behind her. The lead bowed his head.
Obviously these had been studying ninja training videos.

Sensing the shades behind her she would speak, to let them know where to next.
"The ruins ahead are our next location."
Lenne would walk on heading towards the ruins, as she walked across the plain she would ponder on a few things. Pushing her thoughts to the side she would clear her mind again as she never knew when she might need the focus, she took quick medium paced strides so that it should not take her too long to get to the ruins.

Lenne continued to walk through the plains, her footsteps were light and silent on the grass beneath her. Finally she would be coming to the edge of the plains and get closer to the ruins.
"Right we are nearly there, I have been told to protect the ruins."
She would speak while she continued to walk as she headed towards the ruins and exited the plains.

Daniel moved out quickly, keeping as low as possible, using the grass for cover. His heart was pounding, adrenaline flowing. He didnt' see an enemy, but in grasslands like this, with those scattered ruins, the trees, well, it didn't much matter. They could see him.
4, 5. There, the count, and his spared a look back, there were his companions, spreading out just as ordered.
Daniel started to wade ahead through the grass, standing up a little, so it was even more of a target against the barren lands.
Nothing. No shots. No fireballs, no cannon fire. No screaming barbarians with swords.
Nothing.
He stood up fully. Still nothing.
He walked around. Nothing.
At this point, so far from cover, standing up, walking no fire, he figured it counted as 'safe' here.
He waved over his shades, and started to look at the plains. This was a huge crossroads. Open ground. There had to be a way to use it. He knew it.

With a sharp whistle, Daniel called the Shade Company to him. All three came quick enough, standing at attention. It was, quite unnerving, the precision and willingness these shades put into their tasks.
"Our mission is to scout, and to help fortify our positions," he started, and gave a nice, long gaze around the plains. "Al. Go to those ruins," he pointed towards the Lakeside Ruins, "Start digging a trench around the ruins. Use the excess dirt to make an earthen wall to plug up the holes."
"Ben, same thing, go to the homeward Ruins."
"Con, see if you can get a work crew here to help with the tasks. I'm going to scout the vale. Everytime I lift my arm, make a note of the position. That's where we'll build the auxilery defenses."
"Okay people, get to it!" Daniel called out, watching the shades move effortlessly towards their objectives.
Gods he was jealous. All this power, energy, toughness...
Clearing his mind, he looked at the plains, studying again where he should set the barriers...

"CON!" Daniel called, walking in a circle, looking over the area, "Get a hold of the crews at the Jagged Cliffs. Tell them I'll need any of the sharp, jagged, broken rocks they can spare from up there, thank you."
Con nodded, and started a new message for his fellows above.
