The waters surged up higher then before and were spilling Quin out into the mine itself and not just some off branch. Blacked out for a while before regaining himself.
"Well I'l be damned. I'm alive."
Pulling himself up he looked upon the corpse of one of soldiers he had left behind. Well that was more life on his hands, already so much blood, what wasn't a few more drops.
Pulling himself over to the corpse he checked the body for equipment and found a food ration.
Chomping down on it he was disgusted by the taste of it but couldn't really protest as it was food none the less, albit bad tasting food. But that wasn't what he was looking for. Returning to his search he found it.
The detonator for the explosives he had set up, sure something had happened, but making sure they remained unused could be handy. He'd keep hold of that.

After the dizzying journey was over Shade, sighed in relief mind you... underwater but still. He journeyed onward to try and find his way the hell out.

Swiming out of the water, Shade popped his head up and noticed a man was there, obviously not a friendly. This was the very same he had tried to kill yesterday, and right now was not the best time to be fighting especially when wet. So he turned around and headed back down into the water silently and tried to get back into the Dank Cave, breathing silently through his built in rebreather.

Jak was then summarilly re-douched out of the hole when another huge cave in below blasted water in his face.
It's like an effing themepark in here.

Then Shade did the Run Like Hell option, because he is about to sleep at his ******** keyboard. Night folks. This all happened in IC too!

Now that was interesting, someone was behind him. Standing up he noticed movement and heard the sounds of rushing water as rocks raised the level even higher.
"Well this could be interesting."
Holding onto his sword he readied himself for what may come.
"Well that's a disapointment, not interesting at all."
Sheathing his sword he was on his way. Last thing he knew he had to head towards the depot.

IC, some chipmunk started clapping his hands.
Seriously, they do that sometimes.
Jak ran like hell, and everyone could move on with their lives, saving the dramatic conclusion to this battle for another day.

Jacknife's head broke the surface of the water in a big gasp for air. That swim was... Refreshing." He hauled himself up out of the water and set up in a crouch behind a rock with his guns out to wait on the others. So these were the infamous mines huh? Jacknife really didnt see what was so amazing about them. Buncha wet rocks if you asked him.

Shortly after Zen emerged from the water, he hopped out onto dry land and waited for Shade and the others to come on out and join the party.

After an argerous journey through the water with the animals, not to mention the bear. Shade was glad to be done with that damnable leg of the journey; so far so good.

Jacknife hustled over to the exit of the mines, switching off his flashlight as he went. He paused briefly to let his eyes adjust, then stepped out into the afternoon sunshine.

After Shade came up from the water Zen headed for the exit of the preliminary mines, he stepped out into the warm sun and peered across the land.

Urging the wet band onwards, not to mention trying to have the archers calm the slightly uneasy animals who were trying to run out of the cave, which Shade had no problem with. He ran, begging them to come on and exited.

Only to be greeted by Quin holding a detantor so a set of explosives that had been placed there. Now if this had been any other spot the charges might have been too wet, but the prelim mines had not suffered the flooding the others had.
"Hello poppet."
With a depression of the finger the dynamite blew, causing a cave in all along the mines and the side branches. It seemed the miners had been very good with their demolitions.
The pre lim mines where officially closed.
