He smiled and awkardly took it.
"I was afraid you'd offer me a brightly coloured scrunchi instead." He chuckled and stopped, tucking his laptop between his legs and drove his walking stick into the soft ground he sweapt back his dark hair and tied it back with the band.
The wind kicked up again.
"Much better, thanks." He beamed, grabbing his things, then looked around again.
"It's quite far to the villiage isn't it?" He observed.

Malik laughed at her offer.
"Maybe after a few beers I'll borrow one. I've bound to have a shirt to match them in my suitcase."
The dark haired man looked around and pointed with his walking stick to a trail leading into the tropical forest.
"Want to explore? Looks less windy in there and is just asking to be walked through."
He limped towards it, looking back to Minna, hoping she'd follow.

The forest was alive with wildlife, the birds twittered in the background, while the snapping of twigs and the rustling of bushes betrayed the presence of smaller animals foraging for food.
The sun filtered through the gaps between the leaves as the pair followed the well used trail.

Malik smirked.
"No problem, just let those sneaky snakes try anything. I'll protect you."
He started fencing with his stick at an invisible foe, knocking it against a branch, causing a bird to fly in alarm.

He stopped at the question, believing he had shown her enough of his snake-to-stick combat skills.

"Ah, you know you should never ask a guy his age." He replied light heartily "No, wait that's women isn't it?" A chuckle left his lips.

"Well how old do I look to you?"
His grey eyes seemed to sparkle in curiosity in the filtered light.

He smiled.
"24, but not far off. I once was told I looked like I was in my 30s. Why they thought that I'd never know."
He shook his head slightly confused to that memory.

"So I guess you're in your 20s? 21, 22?" He asked.

"Then let's pray they have a bar to celebrate said freedom." He grin became wider as he looked at her. "Of course, in Britian we get to do almost what we want when we turn 18, funny how it differs in different countries."

A rustle of leaves sounded to their left that was much bigger then the small wildlfe that had been around. Something ran through the tropical forest almost unseen.

Malik's head turned to the movement.
"Did you see that?"

"I think it was a person." He said slowly, frowning.
Then called out in a louder voice.
"Hey! Whose there?"

The running person stopped a couple of yards away, indeed if it was a person, but stayed hidden in the thick foliage as if wondering whether to come out or not.

Malik, not one to wait around for things, strode forward following where he last heard the movement. His cane held back leaves in his path.

“Hello?” Malik called out again., glancing at Minna with a confused look as to why anybody would want to hide from them.

Malik stopped and looked at Minna with a smile. Chocolate would surely tempt anybody out from hiding, he mused as the women came up to his side holding what appeared to be a twix bar.

The sound of movement was heard again, but cautiously it was coming closer. Who ever it was obviously was shy as they peered through the overgrowth while they crept forward.

The humanoid shape could now be seen between the foliage, and it looked female, a young adult except the curious strange short grey hair that had a stiff appearance and black feathers standing up along her parting, assumingly braided. Her eyes were brown with what looked like red paint around them while leaves hid the rest of her face from view. She was wearing a pink-strapped top and white shorts, which were mostly hidden behind large leafed plants.

Her hand curled around a thin tree as she peaked behind it at the pair with a sad expression. The top part of her arm had, what looked like small grey feathers on, while her lower arm had small black feathers.

“H-hello.” She replied in a small voice, not wanting them to see her fully the girl stood a few metres away. “A-are you new to the island?”
