That's from episode 5 if my memory serves me right(which it not always does) and according to the subber's note it's an elaborate Mazinger parody. I also think there was a possible joke about American wrestling in episode 4, but I'm not sure about that one...

I just realized, as I was munching on some cake, that in episode 6(when they're at Momoka's private island) Tamama stares at the clear night sky and says "Tamama... home...", in the manga I believe he even says "Tamama phone home...", while having this far off expression. Such a rip off of E.T. xd

Vicious-Loner I just realized, as I was munching on some cake, that in episode 6(when they're at Momoka's private island) Tamama stares at the clear night sky and says "Tamama... home...", in the manga I believe he even says "Tamama phone home...", while having this far off expression. Such a rip off of E.T. xd you made me choke on my laughter edit: ...i checked... redface in the manga he says "i miss my family...i want to go home" and in the anime he says "i want to go home" i fell like such a douche wad now...sorry sir.

We might as well have watched different versions of the sub, it's no big deal. The manga might very well be different because mine isn't even English, it's in Swedish since I'm a Swede(the citizen, NOT the vegetable, though I admit I sometimes have memory like the latter xd ) And wouldn't their laser swords be a Star Wars pun? I know there was something more, I got a 'sudden realization' earlier this week but I've forgotten what it was sweatdrop Maybe it'll pop up in a while... Edit: Got it! Fuyuki's Men in Black theory in the episode where Kururu appears xd And they were making fun of old, mystic places in ep 53, like Stonehenge and the Giza pyramids cool

Most weapons from Gundam. Actually the most parodies are from Mobile Suit Gundam. The old school type! Seig Zeon!
I also love the parodie of NGE in the first book of Aki is shown as a Beserk Eva. xd

Ohh, and there was a beginning page thing that referenced Parappa the Rapper too. I think it was in Book 1...Encounter 4 or 5 maybe...wild guess. *doesn't feel like fetching books this time since I just put them away*
