A request to stay with her and her son till this Yazid came back to Kol? While Kirjava thought twice about it, she nodded slowly before turning to make her way back to her sleeping son. "Yes, you can stay here." Just as her crimson eyes spotted that small teal turf of hair, she felt herself loosen a bit. She was being too tense, she told herself silently. Sitting down not too far from her son, she gazed back up at Kol.
Memories came back to her from when she was a cub. Oh, how that seemed like such a long time ago, a time where she wandered around this crater with a few others lions and the earth shook. Shaking the memory away, she looked back at Kol, letting reality settle down again. "I remember when I was young, before I was taken as a slave...I lived at this place, I forgot the name, but I remember it was this large crater. Those were happy times." A fleeting smile danced across her face before it vanished as quickly as it appeared.

"Crater?"
*Kol’s eyes narrowed as she spoke- as if in the back of his head he was plotting. With a soft yawn the male sat down in front of the mother and son, his large frame shadowing Ravi’s. He wouldn’t come any closer- he knew that Kirjava was still uneasy with him being around her and with the offer she just gave her she must have been very spectacle about him. It was understandable. To better his chances with conversation Kol spoke out.*
"Yazid is a wolf and he is searching the lands to find a place to form this pride- the Pride that I someday hope to make into a reality."

Nodding her head slowly, the memories of her time at the crater came back slowly and slightly fuzzy. Like a dream of sorts to Kirjava. Her gaze shifted slightly off to the side as they sort of glazed over. In a soft voice, "It was peaceful, I remember that much. There was plenty of room for a pride, water and trees as well. I think one of the elders called it the Ngorogoru Crater, or something along those lines...." Her voice slowly faded off before she realized she was speaking to Kol. A slight blush spread across her features, though it wasn't really that noticeable with the dimmed lighting and her crimson coat.
Though, her attention spiked a bit when Kol spoke of a wolf. Being a former slave of the desert, this was slightly new to her. A lion befriending a wolf? If her looks could show her surprise, her mouth would be agape at the moment. "A wolf? I never knew of such things...I'm sure you'll find such a place, as long as it's not the desert." The desert was a touchy subject, but she knew, deep down, that it'd never go away. Unless, her son left her, that is. Crimson eyes shifted over to her son, who she was thinking about. He looked like the very lions in which she was enslaved to, a kind of pain to look at him some times, a reminder of her harsh past. Eyes were downcast and in a soft voice, "Ravi looks so much like those red pelts...so different than a normal cub should look like..."

*With every word she spoke Kol listened and nodded. The information she gave about this place would help him later on in his quest. She seemed in a blissful state when she spoke of this place, good memories must have been placed there. With a deep smile, though not wide enough to really see he sat himself down.
With her reaction to his words about his wolf friend Kol laughed and nodded to her kindly.*
"Yes, a wolf. He has a bit of a temper but I feel he has the right to be upset if he wants."
*He nodded and pushed his paws in front of himself.*
"I hate dry lands."
*He added before moving his sight back to her. With a soft look of worry he felt himself frown slightly. She seemed to be upset again. Whatever the red pelts did to her it must have left scars within her. He hated thinking about what could have happened and what he knew did. Kol eyed her son and studied him. He was a red color- then again so was she… He saw nothing wrong with Ravi or her for that matter.*
"Ravi is fine. Normal, what is normal? I mean- look at myself- do I look normal?"
*He frowned taking a slight offence to her comment. No one was normal in Kol’s mind.*

Crimson eyes gazed off in the distance, "The desert has a beauty of it's own, the lions there do not." Was all Kirjava had to comment about the desert. The sunset and the sunrises were beautiful, but her time there was nothing but suffering. She wondered how her sister was doing. Hopefuly Kib was alright.
Though, at his questions the lioness knew he didn't understand why she felt her son was different. She shook her head and sighed softly, "Everyone looks different, yes, but it's hard not to think about the red pelts whenever I look at my son. He..." She felt her voice quiet down, "He looks like the red pelts. Really looks like them. Has the same features, the same body shape as they do. They are massive and cruel, considered me useless since I was 'raped.'" She spat out the word bitterly, oh she remembered Teleka talking about her one day.
At his question about himself, her crimson eyes shifted over towards Kol. He was different, that was true. He didn't look like any lion she knew of. "You look different, but then, I've never really known any lions...just lionesses." Her world was turning upside, nothing seemed right at the moment. In a soft voice as she turned her eyes away from Kol, "It's just an open wound that needs to heal."

*Thinking about what it must have felt like, what she went through Kol found himself sick with a bitter feeling within his mouth. Why did he care so much anyway- she was after a lioness he had just found- but something seemed different about this one. Sighing deeply Kol’s green orbs fixed upon her as he spoke.*
"The male that did that to you will forever regret never knowing the fine son you have. I am sorry for what happened to you- it makes me sick just thinking about it. I will not let any one do that to you again, and that is a promise."
*As he spoke he found himself dazing off into his own thoughts. His past- his mother. What ever had become of her- he would never know. She left him to find her own satiny after his father’s death. For the longest time his mother thought Kol would die like his father had- but some how he managed to stray away from the sickness his father had, luckily.*
"Your son is your son, no matter what he is nothing like the red pelts-you understand? He isn’t one and never will be one. I am sure your boy understands right from wrong- and if he doesn’t he will learn. You seem very well rounded even if scared so I can tell you he will be fine- just so long as you keep loving him like you do."

Something rang deep down inside of the crimson lioness as Kirjava blinked. Her son. He was her savior, and if it wasn't for him, she'd still be in that desert trap. Now, with that in mind, it didn't seem as painful as before. Why didn't she think of it that way? Because the desert sucked out her hope and happiness, that's why. In a whispery voice, "My savior...my son was the reason I left and if it wasn't for him, I'd probably still be there."
An ephitome of sorts, things looked a lot clearer, or at least she hoped so. Feeling comforted by Kol's words, she was slightly trusting them. He hasn't done anything but talk with her, and for that, she was grateful. And, Kol was right. Her son was just fine, the desert didn't make him cruel, it just made him have a close bond with his mother. She sighed softly, feeling a burden slowly peel itself from her chest. "You're right. I have nothing to worry about with my son, he's perfect in every way." Crimson eyes shifted slightly towards her son's sleeping form, glad to see that he was plump with no ribs showing like herself. She did live in the desert for quite a while and that does take a toll on the body.
Her gaze shifted towards the male and wondered about his past. It would seem rude to ask him while she's rambling away like an idiot. The corners of her mouth slowly curled in a small smile that was for Kol. As the darkness draped over her, she took it with welcoming arms. The embrace was nice, and in the desert, this was the time of day where she'd teach her son. "The night time was our sanctuary. I took Ravi out from hiding and showed him the world, or as much as I could. He loved it."

*The male listened to her carefully and nodded every time he felt need. His green eyes narrowed and with a soft yawn he smiled at the mother and her son. He felt odd- he was not himself right now… he felt like someone else. He was enjoying speaking with this female about her life and her son- something Kol never did. Most of the time he was pretty selfish and lame, he never liked talking to others and felt most other’s were a waste of time.
But right now he was very relaxed and had even offered them both protection from the red pelts within his pride. Even though they were not what he was looking for in recruiting members- something inside told him to stay. With a sly smirk the male contracted his claws in and out of the earth below him, thinking to himself. The night grew dark and the winds picked up as they spoke.*
"Then let this night be marked as the free you both became free to do whatever you please. No one will harm you now."
*Kol spoke, his words strong and promising.*
"Kirjava, if you will let me- some time I think I would like to take your son out on a night hunt with me- He will need to have a male influence in his life- I would like to help him become the best he can."

The idea of being able to roam around without fear was very alluring...very tempting. Crimson eyes looked at Kol, he meant well. Kirjava perked up a bit as he spoke about her son. Poor Ravi, he does need a male influence in his life, all it has been since he was a baby was her sister and herself. She could feel herself feel lighter from all the trouble with her past. Crimson eyes gazed at Kol, "That sounds great." Her tail flicked back and forth with pleasure at the idea of roaming around without fear.
His relaxed posture made her feel the same. She wasn't as tense and on edge as she was before, but there was still a barrier that she held in front of her, for the pain. Her gaze fell on her son, "That...might be good for him. Ravi's been around my sister and I for most of his life, a male influence might be what he needs as well." Since he never had a father, she had to do everything.

"If you will let me I will do my best to fix that."
*Kol nodded slightly, his gray mane pushing along his line of view; his green orbs lay hidden within the shadows of his bangs. He didn’t say much after that. He felt the conversation was nearing an end anyway. Moving to yawn a bit he sat up right and eyed her again. She was strong- he would give her that much. Maybe someday she would see that she had made a good thing out of a bad situation. Flexing his claws still- to keep himself focused Kol spoke once more, his ton husky.*
"You both should rest now. I will take your shift. You need will need all the sleep you can get."
*He nodded and opened his eyes wide, moving himself to pad over to the two. Kol sat himself down behind them, so that nothing could attack them from in front or back. He knew that he could never be too careful, so he wouldn’t rise anything right now.*

Getting up and settling herself around her son, Kirjava's crimson eyes gazed at Kol. It felt different to be in the presence of another, especially a male who she has just met. While she didn't want to trust him or anyone else that she didn't know personally, perhaps she could learn to open up her heart once again. Curling her tail around her son's sleeping form, she lowered her head on the ground. Her eyes closed slowly, but not before she whispered, "Thank you...Kol."
