Smiling, Siku nodded, listening to Pumbaa's words, unable to help a soft laugh at the mention of the beetle. Gazing off into the distance, a soft sigh passed her lips, bright blue eyes falling back to Pumbaa. It hurt, thinking that she, too, would have to leave the warthog. Biting her lower lip, her gaze fell to the ground.
"I.. I'm sorry, Pumbaa.. I have to leave, as well." She said quietly, tail shifting uneasily. Paws kneading at the ground, she murmured.
"The jungle.. isn't where I live. I'm from a place called the Pridelands, visiting with my friend.." Siku admitted, feeling bad for having to desert Pumbaa. Looking up, she sighed.
"So, I'll be leaving soon, too. But, I'm never really gone.. right?" She said, tears welling up in her eyes.
"And besides, maybe one day, you can visit my home!"

Pumbaa sighed heavily, since he knew all good things come to an end, whether one wanted it too or not. He shook his head, keeping a smile on his face. He looked to her, nodding. "I know. You are still young enough where you miss home... I was like that. Except, this is my home now." He said, looking around at the thick jungle aboust them. "I usualy don't leave this place anymore. Considering, I do not like to travel alone... very much." He said, shrugging. "Not to mention alot of others would eat me on sight... or run away at the smell. "
Pumbaa smiled over at her again, his tail wagging slightly. "But perhaps I will come and visit you... at the pride lands right? Perhaps I will wander there sometime Siku." He said, with a kind hearted smile.

"That's not true, Pumbaa! You don't smell bad." Siku said, which, of course, was a horrible lie. But honestly now, you didn't tell someone they smelled bad. That was just plain rude. Trying to fight back the urge to cry, she shook her head, forcing out a laugh.
"An.. and I would really like that. You would be able to come meet my family.." she managed to choke out, a tear managing to roll down her cheek. Holding the rest back, Siku rose, turning away from Pumbaa.
"I do want to see you again, Pumbaa, even if you're never really gone." She said, turning back, now freely crying, but a smile plastered on her face.
"Since I'm always going to remember you, and you're going to remember me!"

Pumbaa smiled kindly, shaking his head with a smile and a sigh. He knew he smelt, but felt better about it when people ignored it. His beady eyes blinked for a moment, before he stepped over to Siku and knudged her on the side. "Aww, do not cry Siku. I just may come and visit. You just wait and see. I get lonely and I know where you are.. so I can come visit anytime, right!" He asked, a smile on his kind face; sitting down. "but for now, I will stay here and remember you deep in my heart Siku. I will... I never forget a face or a life!" he said, turing away from Siku and walking slightly into some tall grass. He turned back.
"Look for me soon! I might show anytime, if that is alright and if I do not get too old.." He said with a laugh.

"I will!" Siku called to him, before rising slowly, and heading off in the opposite direction. Though the tears were rolling freely down her cheeks, a smile held strongly on her lips, as she pressed through the brushes, turning back one last time.
"I expect to see you soon! And it's always alright, I'll be waiting for you!" She called, blue eyes clouding from the crying, as she turned and headed on for the thick of the jungle. Kijibwa would likely be waiting at the waterfall by now, and though Siku knew crying wasn't going to help, right now she couldn't stop herself. This, she thought, is why I never told mother goodbye. It would have hurt too much, and I'd never have left.
"You shall always be in my heart, as well!" She cried, before darting into the underbrush. She would see Pumbaa again one day; they'd promised.
