Yua chuckled a bit at how surprised the other lion seemed to be at hearing that his extravagant markings were, for the most part, painted on. "Only from the neck down, persay.." he commented, then waved a paw to the 'mask' of a marking on his face.
"This, on the other paw, has always been there..." he added, then laughed. Allowing the other lion to study the markings on his shoulder with closer detail. "It was a very.... well... organized pride." he decided, nodding. Yes. That was the right word for it.
Pondering about Umo's birth pride, he frowned a bit. Were there truely prides out there that were so cruel as to make a young one think ahead to the future so sadly? Indeed.. it... seemed so.
".. On my own?" he blinked, pondering, before smiling and nodding again in reply. "Yes. I guess physically I am on my own... though even then I have to think about my family." Another sigh.
"Perhaps it's supposed to be a good feeling, but I can't help but keep feeling homesick."

Umo chuckled as well, his crimson eyes dancing across Yua's marks of his pride. He shook his head, tearing his gaze away with a smile. He really admired that Yua was proud of his markings, even though he was not of hte pride anymore. He leaned down to rub his muzzle across his paw quickly, before looking back up. "Well, that is perfectly normal to be homesick Yua. I was just as you are. I hated my pride and yet I missed them" He said, looking out into the rain, his crimson eyes watching chosen rain drops fall.
"Either that or I missed the feeling of those around me and not just the presence of my family in their state of.. well... the state I thought them to be... unhappy." He said, sighing.

There was a laugh from Yua as he nodded. "Perhaps so.... I am unsure of anything anymore..." he decided, tail flicking a bit, before crinkling his nose and shaking his head.
No.. he didn't like that much.
"I'm never alone, so I know that it's not because I am lonely either.." he added, rising up again to walk out into the rain, which seemed to have lifted ever to slightly.
After a few paces, he sat down again and sighed.

Umo was not sure if something he said had made Yua saddened suddenly. He furrowed his brow; blinking his cool crimson eyes in thought. It was tough, being so young and misunderstood by his own family. He shook his head; looking down at his paws that seemed to big for his body. "That is right. You have hte spirits wiht you... much more that any normal lion." He said, watching the young lion walk into hte dying rain.
Umo stood, walking up beside Yua and looking out into the distance. "I have a son out there somewhere." He said simply, his tail curling slightly at the tip. "He was all alone when I found him. He was left by his family and then left by anouther lion who said he would watch over him.... he is off on his own now... I hope he is all right." He said, looking downwards at his feet again. He did not like hte fact Kajji was alone out there... and did not like hte fact that his daughter would be too some day. He shook his head, time for something more positive. "So, any plans of settling down someday... perhaps with a mate?" He inquired.

Like a human would have spurted soda at this comment, Yua's expression mimicked such a thing at the suggestion of him having a mate, before he looked up to Umo with a look of shock.
"A -MATE-?" he sputtered shakenly, before shivering a bit. Not at the thought of 'OMGMATEYUCK' but more of 'OMGBABIES'.. as that would probably be the result of such a thing...
"... I... really haven't thought about that, to be honest..." he finally settled as his reply, frowning a bit. "I dunno if I'd be able to put the burden of my 'gift' onto another lion, let alone one I loved...."
His tail flickered ever so slightly as he thought about it, before he added;
"And I wouldn't be able to hide it either.. it.. is a predicament.."

Umo simply watched Yua's expression when reality hit him that Umo had talked of a mate. Even Umo had that small, disliking of that 'm' word. He simply smiled, knowing that Yua was worrying for the same reason Umo had. "I thought the same thing. I almost, did not have a child due to the fact I did not want to pass on my familys genes into a baby." He said, looking blankly into the distance, his ears slightly flat.
"But you know what. It is worth it in the end... it is alright to worry about the outcome though. I was terribly afraid that Kinamasi... my daughter would gain the very life actions I so hard wished to hide from her..." He said, lowering his head. "I worry for the child that I wish to have again with Kika. It is a silly thing for me to be worried about... but I am"

Yua pondered this thought a bit, his expression thoughtful, before he shook his head. No. That wasn't what he feared for in a child...
"I fear more then anything passing on the same gift that got me ridiculed..." he explained thoughtfully, the slight changes in his expression ever so subtle, almost to the point that to notice them, one would have to be flashing a strobe-light onto him to miss the transition from face to face.
"But... perhaps you are right, and I am simply worrying over something that may or may not happen......" The rogue thought about this for a mere moment, before the gears in his brain stopped, leaving him with a vacant stare out at nothing in particular.
"....... But perhaps.... what I fear most is that I would make a bad father...."

Umo sat thinking; sitting beside this young male that had already had a horrible life. He listened to what Yua had to say, and he nodded with a type of understanding that not many would possess. "I understand Yua... It is always a burden to wonder if the child will be born healthy, in a state of body and mind that you wish you were in." He said, looking down and rubbing his nose with an overly large paw.
He looked to Yua with a surprised expression. "A bad father? What makes you think that? A bad father?" He asked, looking at Yua with a curious expression. Yua, of all lions; shouldn't worry about fatherhood. Umo already thought he was more exprerianced in life than many other males.

Horrible? No. Confused? Yes. Yua's life was confusing, more then it being anything else. The words of comfort did little to lift Yua's peace of mind, before he shook his head solemnly.
"I would be a bad father. I know not what it means to be a son, or a brother.... how would I be able to know how to treat a child? Surely not the same way I was treated by my own?"
The rogue looked over towards Umo, frowning ever so slightly, before shaking his head.
"No. I could never be a father."

Umo was saddened by this young males words. He wanted ever so badly to be the adoptive father to this fellow, since it sounds like he never really had one. He wanted this fellow to a brother to Kinamasi. "Well, it only takes a bit of time. I could offer you a place to stay with My mate and my daughter. It pains me to think you are alone; when you should be with a family and someone who cares..." He said, looking at Yua was a comforting smile. Something about the hurt and the lonely made Umo a big... bigger softy on the inside.
He blinked into the dying rain; his thoughts taking time to sort out. He looked down. "Forgive me... I may have sounded a bit... desprate... or perhaps that is not the word." he said, looking to Yua. "It just pains me to think you suffered so much... and I guess I would love to help you... but..." He shrugged. "I feel for others who suffered like I had. If I could. I would save them all." He said with a shy smile.

Yua shook his head curtly at the offer, knowing better of himself. "No. I'd rather not.." he decided, frowning a bit at the knowledge that this almost stranger had taken up the offer to take him as a burden.
No. I cannot allow that.
"As lovely a thought as it is.. I cannot accept that. I am a wanderer..." he insisted, nodding firmly. Yes. That was true. He couldn't post himself in one location when he had yet to speak to spirits all over the land.
Again looking to the dying rain, Yua frowned a bit, before shaking his head.
"As much as it has been a pleasure chatting with you, Umo, the rain is letting up, and now is when all the hunting animals will be coming out..."
The lion frowned a bit, eyeing the spirit that loomed over his shoulder in his mind, before shaking his head.
"So I must be off if I wish to catch anything."

Umo understood where Yua was coming from. He sighed, but with a smile on his maw. Looking out into the rain, he nodded his head in understanding. "Alright, you are true in word. The rain has stopped and now perhaps I can finally bring something to my family other than a frog. Which I cannot even catch." He said with a small laugh, He stood up, shaking off the dirt that had clung to his dark fur during his small stay in the cavern. He stepped into the light; blinking his crimson eyes. He turned and looked over his shoulder at Yua. "But... just keep in mind. I am not far away if you need some one to talk too. I understand alot of what you speak of (spirits)..."
He streatched his limps wiht a small yawn. feeling the wetness of hte ground reminded him of being at the swamps. He cleared his throat, turning his body to look and the young male. "Not to mention... at my pride... one of them... Spirits are welcomed and spoken too greatly."
"I will be at the Kusini Mwenzi or the Swamplands. Just ask for Umo. If you like." He offered, walking back towards the swamplands, which was still a few miles away... but might as well get a move on and catch something on the way. He stopped his pace, looking over at Yua. "Glad to have met you Yua." He said, turning away and heading towards his own spirits. His mate and child were waiting.

Yua bowed his head solemnly to Umo, a slight chuckle catching him at the mention of catching frogs. Not something he'd done his life, however, so he'd not ridicule him with more of his laughter.
"I shall remember that, and hope that my appearence doesn't start any lynch mobs, ne~?" he added with a slightly amused overtone, before he rose up, turning to head off towards the north, turning his entire body to the side when Umo called back to him his location and his gladness in having met him.
The lion smiled a bit, before nodding.
"I hope your search treats you well!" he called back, before turning, and bounding off in his own direction.
