Cool. I'm in Asheboro, dead center of the state. Though I go to school in Charlotte.

I'd love to meet some of you... but I'm only 14 and my mom would freak. If we're still on line in four years, I'll give you all a call! biggrin And then we can meet in a ridiculoudly generic place with lots of people. ^^

Asheboro? Hey, MaxDuo, do you know Robert Clyde Allen, by any chance? He lives over in Spencer & has a Yahoo Group Anime club that meets in Asheboro....

Haha. Sepik, just say yer meeting a bunch of 40 year olds or something and all willbe fine wink Wait...... no it won't.
Nope though. I've no clue who that is. I don't do a ton in Asheboro now though due to being in Charlotte most of the time for college crap.

LOL! Have to laugh at you, Max. Umm, you are Max, right? My memory's not what it used to be. Where did I leave my cane?
Just became some of us here at a bit more older, it doesn't mean we can relate with younger people. For instance, Sepik has much in common with me, Eirwyn and Anna as we enjoy watching Doctor Who as well as interests in art, movies and books (judging from various threads and posts). Plus I teach middle school.
I also have sons in college at this time and one of them has got to be your age. So believe it or not, I really may know what's going on your busy and stressful college life. Older people can be your friends.
Sepik, when you get older and we're all still here, I'll be glad to take you to lunch. We'll meet up with all the Carolina Gaias and have a great time! biggrin

Heck, if she brought her Mom along so she could see who we are & what we're like, I wouldn't care. We're (mostly) harmless! mrgreen Moms worry. That's their job. I'm in my 40's & my Mom still worries about me! Heck, a couple of years ago my parents & I were walking into a restaurant over at Hickory & while we were still out on the parking lot, & can you believe she actually pulled out a kleenex, moistened it with her tounge & gave my nose a spit-bath because she saw a smudge there? rolleyes Or that I automatically did just what we all did when our Moms did that to us when we were little--I squirmed, made a face & yelled, "MOOOOMMM!!!" rofl rofl rofl Some things will never ever change no matter how grown up you get.

Hm.. Not sure what part of my post you are talking about ^_^;; If it was me talking about her hanging out w/ older people I was just joking about it saying how it'd make her mom feel real uneasy if she knew the people were much older as well. Since they always have that fear of it being some sick guy or whatever.
And if it's to me saying something about college crap... um... Yes. I forgot what I said now and am too lazy to scroll down to find it haha.

I polled in for northern SC, though no one would call us that (even if we are on the SC/NC border). Really, I live in the Pee Dee region. You know, near Myrtle Beach?

Welcome to the forum, MissReese! We're friendly bunch here and always glad to have new members.
Invitation to Max... If and when we have a Carolina get-together... even though it will include old gals like myself... you and any other of the guys are welcome to join. LOL! Hey, us old people usually have a little bit of money and will buy you lunch.
Just kidding with you, Max. Really do like you; you know how to take a joke... biggrin

Surprisingly, my mom barely embrasses me. She's a middle school teacher, well now highschool, and she knows what not to do. For the most part.
But she would FREAK if I ever went to meet someone from online. But I'm not stupid about it... jeesh. She's all paranoid about the sexual predator stuff.
It was funny. My dad asked me if I went on myspace (I hate the site) and I'm like "No! I go on gaia." And he was just all "Guy...?" *SIGH* So then I explained to him it was gaia, not guy-a. That was a slightly akward conversation.
Lots of times I relate better to adults than kids my own age. I've always been more 'mature'. Eh. Sometimes. It always depends on my mood. I can be more hyper than a three year old if I feel like it, and more 'adult' than a college student. Always depends on the situation.
