Temari is three years older than Shikamaru, which makes her 18 now right? If they dated, isn't that illegal since Shika is still a minor. eek Anyway, I've always liked this pairing and I'm not going to stop now. eeww I don't want to even think abot that. Not those two.

Remedi animegoddess49 I am a huge ShikaIno fan. They are perfect for each other. Shikamaru's lazy attitude is lifted up by Ino's spunk and enthusiasm and Ino's 'anger management' is brought down by Shikamaru's calm nature. They are both perfectly compatible for each other in my opinion. They are also good on the battlefeild together. Shikamaru's jutsu can hold the enemy in place while Ino does her mind transfer and holds the enemy captive. If they got together then they'd probably be even more successful!
Of course unless Ino gives up on Sasuke I think Temari is gonna get Shikamaru first. =( Shikamaru will probably consent too because I think he's beginning to have feelings towards Temari.
One thing that makes me mad at the ShikaTema fans though is how they always say 'Shikamaru only see's ino as a teammate and nothing more'. They're wrong though because right after Ino finished lecturing Chouji about his weight and Shikamaru came out of the bathroom to talk to him he told Chouji that Ino would be really pretty if she put on a few pounds. This proves that Shikamaru see's Ino as a girl and not just a training partner.
Unfortunately, Kishimoto has stated that he himself is a ShikaTema fan. .__. I like ShikaTema a bit more, so I'm not complaining, but...

Temari's cool and all, but there's just too much Ino and Skika have in common to be denied a good possible couple. They're both so loud, so annoying to each other, it would be too cute if they ever got together. heart plus, Ino is always teasing Shika cause he does'nt have a girlfrien. Just think if his girlfriend would be her!

Shikamaru is better with Ino because she caters to his fun, youthful side that his deep analyzing often leads him to neglect. Temari can't do that. Then look at what Shika kept saying during the Chuunin exams, he didn't like fighting girls. He prefers relationships with traditional roles. He can't have that with Temari when she's all pissed at the world, coldly self-independent and ready to kick his a**. Ino on the otherhand though brash and fun still needs Shika for his wisdom and patience. See, they just work better.
She's not "pissed of at the world." She just has a tough attitude. Y'know, that 'I don't take bull from anyone.' And that's what makes her stand out.
I wouldn't say she's "coldly self-indepenent," either. Yes, she is an independent girl, but she's not cold. If she was, she wouldn't show concern and care for both her brothers, village, and Shikamaru (and she DOES show a hint of concern for Shika after the Sasuke Retrieval Ark in the hospital.) Her personality just doesn't match to others, and she's bluntly honest. In she's talking to Hinata, she won't go into little miss princess mode because it seems nice. She's keep her tough attitude, and I wouldn't be surprised if she told Hinata straight of the bat that she was too shy. >> She's her own person, and she's not gonna change that for anybody.
And sorry, but Temari kicking Shikamaru's a** is what makes that pairing even more likeable. The ShikaTema fans support ShikaTema mainly because it differs from tradition pairings. You won't see Temari the damsel in distress get caught up in some situation where she's too weak to fight, and here comes Shikamaru in all his brainy glory to save her. Temari's rough and tough, and she can save herself. Plus, a lot of fans like how it isn't Shikamaru who saves Temari, but TEMARI who saves Shikamaru. It's different than your average "cute" pairing.
And I'm not saying that I hate ShikaIno...you ALL know that I don't. >___> <3 So don't kill me, please. I just HAVE to stand up for Temari and ShikaTema. TwT

The most shallow reasonings I have in my preference to ShikaIno to ShikaTem are that... Well, I don't like Temari and ShikaIno is infinitely cuter. xD Ino's cuter, so that's not a surprise.
Fanwork wise, they have a lot more going for them. You can display them as childhood friends growing up together, which is the probably the most beloved and common device used in the fandom. And it works. People love the whole "childhood friend" scenario because it gives the pairing a feeling that they know each other and have for some time. So in one way or other, Shikamaru and Ino are much closer than Shikamaru is with Temari, or, possibly, for anyone else for that matter. It's so easy and so fun to portray them as casual friends/almost brother/sister-like because of their family ties, then escalating that to a more romantic level.
And their personalities give us good chemistry. Ino is probably more childish and, of course, bossy and extroverted, and Shikamaru is laid back and lazy. He'd probably just cater to her just to shut her up (x'D). It's easy to see this evolving into romantic interest as well. Ino could get Shikamaru mixed up into all sorts of things, and Shikamaru can't help but follow because he doesn't want her to create a scene or get his butt kicked.
Either way... it's definitely cute. I just don't see any personality in Temari that would allow similar possibilities.

When I joined the Guild I was a hardcare ShikaIno fan. But after alot of reasoning, and alot of fanfics, and AMV's, and the Manga, Ive become a ShikaTema fan. Not saying that I dont like ShikaIno. Its cute. Really. But I like Ino with Sai...A lot. Ino has grown up ALOT post Time skip. You can just tell, she isnt a little girl. But I dont have any problem with ShikaIno, I just dont see it becoming Canon. But I still think if she ends up with Sai it would be just as cute [[crosses fingures]]
And as for the she hates the world kind of thing. I find that funny. She shows deep concent for Gaara's safty. And Shikamaru's. I think that since Kishi said that Shikamaru ended up just like his father, Id say he's falling for troublesome girls [[not saying Ino isnt]] but Id say Temari mostly fits his oposite and its perfect. She wont put herself in a situation to where she cant defend herself, which is perfect for Shikamaru seeing as it would be too "troublesome".
But as I said, either way it would be cute, but I see ShikaTema going Canon.
