There was a slash of water, the lion's paw plunging in the liquid once again, pulling out another of the creatures before the lioness could even finish her question. He paused, puzzling over her question for a moment.
"Huh? I always thought they were pretty cool."
He looked at the creature, then back to the lioness and shrugged. Didn't really matter what they looked like, they tasted good enough. With a flick of his paw, he tossed the creature to the lioness.
"Here, try one."

"Erk!"
Scrambling to catch the many-legged animal before it hit her, of scuttled off, Tiaca let out a startled noise. Holding the wriggling, pale shrimp-like thing delicately between two toes, she glanced nervously back to Ali.
"You sure...?" she looked deeply suspicious of it. It had so many LEGS! Many more than it needed, surely...and those little feathery looking feelers, eurgh! Gulping, the lioness steeled herself.
"Well...here goes, anyway..." She shut her eyes and lowered the critter into her jaws, biting down with a CRUNCH. She chewed a few times, then swallowed, and opened her eyes again. "S...S'not bad," she admitted. Pleasantly crunchy! Though...the legs felt a bit odd going down.

A broad grin spread across the lion's paw who had already caught another of the creatures and was munching it happily and now speaking with his mouth full.
"Pretty good, huh?
It seemed Ali was a good fisherman, which was fitting of his name, king of the sea. Or maybe it was just that the creatures were blind and there wasn't many places for them to run. Either way he had already scooped out another, dropping it on the rocks for the lioness should she want it and was after another.

Tiaca wrinkled her nose again, using a claw to pick one of the critter's many legs from between her teeth.
"They're..." she watched the one Ali had set down as it scuttled blindly towards her. "Interesting," she managed weakly, a little bit distracted by his mouthful of wriggley, pointy shrimp-animals.
She crouched and batted the water-dwelling thing experimentally before crunching it in her teeth. They weren't bad. The flavor was actually... well..rather nice. Really it was the legs that put her off.
"An aquired taste, perhaps?" the lioness offered, looking back at Ali and wondering how he FIT all those things in his mouth. o.o

Ali happily crunched his mouthful of crustaceans before swallowing them, his expression very satisfied as he licked the remaining flavor from his paws, purring quietly at his contented stomach.
"I suppose so, I've always liked them though."
His paw plunging into the depths of the water once more, he caught another of the creatures and dropped it into his mouth for good measure. Tastey they were, he could sit here and eat them all day.

Tiacapan shook her head slightly, looking vaguely amused. Well, if he liked them so, he could have them. Their little legs and feelers were a bit too alien for her.
Hunkering down next to him and peering into the shimmering waters, the lioness narrowed her eyes as a pale fish flashed by. Dipping her paw in slowly, she waited, frozen, then quick as a flash, swept the struggling fish up with one swoop, scooping it out of the water and onto the rock, where it lay flopping for a moment. Looking proud, Tiaca dug her claws into it, and it went still. She grinned at Ali.
"You want a bit of this, or are you too full of wiggly critters?" she asked, curling her tail around her forepaws and smiling. The other lion was indeed good company.

Ali sat for a moment, licking his paws clean, giving the contents of his stomach a chance to settle before fishing for more of the tastey crustaceans. Watching the lioness his eyes widened slightly, a mildly impressed look on his maw.
"Niiiice, sweet catch, dude."
He admired the fish, but decided he was more in the mood for his crustaceans and he turned back to the water and proceeded to catch several more, dropping them in his mouth as he did.
"Nah, I'll just eat these for now."

Tiacapan looked rather pleased with her catch, and groomed a paw in a preening sort of manner. She was rather awful at above-ground hunting, but fishing she could do!
"Thanks," she responded with a grin, dragging a blunt claw along the fish, splitting it open.
"Alright then, suit yourself," the lioness said with a laugh, lowering her head and beginning to eat the fish.

At least a dozen crustaceans later, the blue lion decided he'd had enough, his head lowered to the water's surface this time to take a long drink to quench the thirst brought on by his meal. After licking his paws clean, savoring every last taste, Ali yawned then flopped over on the earth floor, rolling onto his back with a very contented purr.
"That was good."
His stomach full, the lion was happy, not that he was ever unhappy. He wriggled on his back, making himself comformtable, his tail flicking lazy over a rear paw. Hmmmm..a nap sounded like a good idea after such a good meal.

Lifting her face from the fish, the lioness ran a rough tongue across her muzzle and smiled at Ali. He was a bit odd, but then, all of the Anansi seemed to have their quirks. It was one of the reasons she felt so comfortable with them, deep underground.
Cleaning her paws off rather daintily, Tiaca laughed as the other lion flopped over with a purr. She batted a paw at him playfully.
"Sleepy?" As soon as the words left her mouth the lioness felt herself yawn widely. Perhaps Ali had the right idea. She stretched out beside him, paws crossed over one another and dangling just above the surface of the rock pool. Laying her head on her paws, Tiaca gazed out at the surface sleepily.

The lion opened his maw to answer, but all that came out was a wide yawn, pink tounge curling past his lips, paws stretching as pale eyes fell closed to the world.
It didn't take long before the lioness' answer was definitively answered by the low rythmic breathing of the blue lion and the peaceful rise and fall of his chest. Were that not enough, an occational snore revealed without a shadow of a doubt that he had fallen asleep, his mind slipping into a peaceful dream, perhaps one about an all you can eat buffet of shellfish.

{Lmao xD}
Tiaca waited for an answer, and then, realizing that she'd sort of gotten one, rolled her eyes and laughed softly, bapping Ali lightly with the flat of her forepaws before nestling her own head down onto her paws and closing her eyes peacefully.
The lioness let out a contended sort of sigh and slowly fell asleep, the soft smile on her face indicating that she, at least, was NOT dreaming of many-legged crustaceans.
