Actually, I'm going to have to disagree with the notion of thick-rimmed glasses not going well with lolita.
While very thick, black-rimmed glasses may not look good, some other thick-rimmed glasses do.
I just got a new pair of glasses with a dark red rim. It is thick, but it isn't thick enough to be classified as "emo glasses" or look bulky. They actually would go very nicely with a country or classic lolita look. (unfortunately, I don't have a picture, but I will try to post one if I can get a digital camera any time soon).
Anyways, I will agree that rimless glasses would also be a good idea. I was going to get those instead of my new ones, but I couldn't find any ones I liked.

It's all a matter of opinion and taste too. I do have to disagrre with the notion of thick framed glasses are bad for lolita, I currently have a pair of thick black framed glasses that are shaped in a thin ovular lense. I think they'd look very cute with the right outfit. The only problem I have with them is the fact that they have zebra pint on the inside of the frames >.<;;;;

I think glasses with Lolita clothes is adorable. Specifically the kind specified by Emy-Lou-chan. Or thin rimmed glasses. Not thick-rimmed, I don't think that fits with Lolita, but do whatever you feel looks nicer, I say :3 I'm actually jealous >_> I wish wore glasses. It would look so cute with my outfits.

I wear glasses as well, I have an "emo" pair and some wire glasses (second pair I don't like personally). For glasses, however, I think glasses with a circle frame would be rather cute, and a little old fashioned. The bad part is they might be called "granny glasses" by some, reguardless... there is a really nice more traditional gothic style guy at my school who has a pair of glasses like that, and it is rather nice.

I'd have to agree with the frameless glasses concept, although certain framed ones would look okay with lolita as well. I think for framed, a neutral colour would be best. Also, be sure the frames fit your face. Don't get a pair too big, and make sure they don't fall off easily.

i've had glasses since i was 2 years old. i think that round glasses look horrible on everyone, never seen them pulled off. i tried ot go with the thin frames but they looked so horrible and geeky on me. but now the ones i have look amazing. they are quite thick. though i have always had to get thick glasses because i'm farsighted thus the lens are much thicker. heres a link http://pupe.ameba.jp/item/tKksizG5EyT7/YAIHeM859bCr/not the best or clearest picture, there is also a side view(can't really see much) in my siggy pic.
