Smiling and pausing in her bathing for a moment, Palesa just looked to her youngest and nodded with a warm glow in her eyes, "I am going to teach you about something that is very personal to me, something I would hope to pass down for you three to learn as well..." She paused a moment, deciding not to hold back at all, "I am going to teach you about my journies with the winds..."
Her voice trailed off as her youngest cut in, and glanced towards Vitashki when she interjected as well. Not seeing the cringe of Kikore at the comment, she looked up a moment too late with a confused look across her features.
"A fuss? Kikore, what happened?" She seemed to frown at that, though said no more as she caught a look that crossed through his amber eyes.
Kikore had enough, and as soon as his sister seemed to stab him, figuritivly of course, he felt tears pool in his amber eyes. For a moment, he could say nothing, as everything cloged in his throat in one big lump. After he swallowed, he just tried to grasp for words, and sputtered out random blurbs.
"I didn't do anything, Vitashki di-" He snapped out, before cutting himself off and lowering his head to his paws, hoping to glue his mouth shut the remainder of the lession in a selfinflicted time-out once more.

Ivie turned her head to face the others, head tilting as she tried to understand why they'd even brought this up. She'd practically forgotten it! "T'was nothing mother, they just got annoyed that I beat them in the race." She chuckled and stuck her tongue out, moving cautiously over to where Kikore was.
She noticed the tears brimming in his eyes but said nothing, suddenly wishing she could gather the courage to rub comfortingly against him.
She faltered and turned back to Palesa, mewing softly.
"Journey with the winds?" She gazed about as if expecting some sort of wind creation to come over to them and start talking.

Vit was not very perceptive of her brother's feelings and missed his hurt tone and appearance, too focused on her mother and the words she said. Besides, she had her back to Kikore and didn't bother to look round. She just grinned as the blame was returned to her.
Deciding to change the subject a bit, she raised a brow.
"A journey?"

"Yes, a journey...for I was never born in these lands, and only just came here a few months before you three were born. Instead...I followed the winds..." As if the prove her point, she lifted her maw a bit and let the breeze flutter through her pelt, a smile drifting serenly across her features and her mind forgetting the cleaning of her eldest.
"While the winds hold no words, they do have knowlage of the journey, or your fate if you wish to be really concerned. For since I was but a young cub, I always let the winds guide my paws, following the path they pushed me in," Opening her soft brown eyes, she smiled down to all three of her children, "I have seen all edges of the world, some more than others, but still the same. There are many things outside of the lands, such as a sand filled sea and a moist forest where it always rains. However, the true sea is something I wish you could all see..." Now, all that Palesa was doing was musing, and it became clear in her faded look that brushed her eyes.

The youngest cub remained quiet, listening to her mother's words with only half her understanding. "So...you're saying that the wind is alive?"
As if to prove her correct another playful wind tugged at her fur, whistling past her back before tugging sharply upwards.
(( edit: omg that has to be my shortest post in the history of SoA xD !! ))

Vit listened intently to the tales her mother wove, facinated by the strange and wonderful places of which she spoke. Perhaps out there the gods truly did exist, not just rolling green grass the colour of her siblings and sky the same colour as her. Her earlier maliciousness was left behind in favour of interest.
"Will we ever be able to follow the winds like you mother?" she asked, clearly having inherited some of her mother's wandering spirit.

Kikore kept his place behind his siblings, not really saying anything as he just watched and listened to his mother. Every time her eyes would brush over him, a small smile would cross his maw, and a nod of understanding filter from his body. Usually, he would be right there asking questions, but his voiced seemed gone. Now all he wanted to do was be content with listening to the story his mother wove, and slowly he closed his eyes. He could almost see the places she spoke of, almost smell the scents of the sands and feel the rain of the forest.
"Indeed, Ivie, the winds have a life of their own. Some say it is guided by the spirits of our ancestors, and others by the paws of a mysterious goddess who is a wind sprite herself. No one really knows, and they don't listen, but those that do...find fufillment in the deeds of their life." She let the tone trail off before glancing towards Vit, smiling at the intrest her usually anti-social daughter had. On the outside, she saw a stiff wall, but Palesa knew on the inside her daughter was just like anyone else.
"As long as you want to, Vitashki, and you hold the passion and the paitence, you can follow the winds. It is an art of listening more than going, for the winds love to play tricks as well, but as long as you listen and hear their laughter, you will understand," She smiled warmly, " You can also predict things with the wind, like if a storm is coming becuase the breeze is cold, or a heat wave is growing because of the gentle crasses that fail to get in your pelt..."

Her eyes flickered briefly to her siblings, first to her brother and then to her sister. They were all so very different frome one another that one might not even know they were related.
Her head snapped around as she heard her mother say her name. "Then I want to listen too mother!" She sounded defiant and her little brow furrowed as she glanced down from Pride rock to the lands around them.
"And I will listen cos I'm a smart girl." She nodded firmly, chuckling a little at the though of making friends with something so playful and mysterious as a wind sprite. It sounded fun and the wind didn't bring strange pictures with it when it touched her fur.

Vit liked the sound of these winds, powerful but mischevious, even to those who followed them. To be able to use them to predict and forsee things that were to come also sounded fascinating. Normally in most situations she'd be only too happy to be sarky and snappy but for now she'd rather learn of these things. Still, the playful winds didn't sing to her the way they seemed to sing to her mother, the element itself seemed whimsical, frivolous and changeable and for all it's fascination, didn't seem to suit her.
However, the mention of another god made her sit up and listen.
"A goddess?" she asked "Is she gentle and changeable like the wind?" would gods ever tolerate her or was their existance not meant to be, an abomination as her father had described his own? She wanted to meet this goddess and ask of her grandfather.
Maybe she would listen to the winds just a bit, to see if they spoke of War.

She smiled softly at all of her cubs, but soon a frown marred her features. Shaking her head, she looked out towards the distance and stood.
"It is time we go, I shall finish my teachings later, but for now, I must hunt and feed my family while the herd is still close..." Leaning down she whispered an additional comment, "The winds let me catch the scent."
Lifting again, she glanced to the side, before giving each cub a quick lick and walking off, a slow hum coming from her maw as she left the youths to ponder over the teachings for that day. Hopefully, they would want to hear more, and just the idea made her excitement speed up her steps. Next time she would say more. Next time they would know just who the goddess was that she dreamed of as a cub herself.
