my mom used to buy them and she read mars....HOW WAS I SUPOSE TO KNOW ABOUT THE SEX SCENE? xd 3nodding she stopped buying them for me after my collection hit 100 3nodding ( its now at 405 )
solution for you: try keeping your manga at friends houses 3nodding

Interesting. If a parent disaproves of something you're doing, as long as it's harmless, I'd reccomend a good middle finger. But then again that could have consiquences...

Well yeah id say so the middle finger is probably going to cause coonsiquences. i have like 140 mangas and i have to buy them all myself, unless my sister wants the next volume of a collection i have. Anyways my mom know i like anime and manga and she really doesnt care. she just likes the fact that i read! >_<

You see they don't understand I learn from manga! lol Like opium for example, I learned it was a bad narcotic due to Roruoni Kenshin. lol My health teacher wasn't too excited that I knew that one lol

my mom doesnt get why i like it so much, but she doesnt really have anything against it
my dad is sort of amused by it i think, he hasnt read any of my manga but he went to see two anime movies with me back when i was too young to go to the theater at night by myself...spirited away and cowboy bebop movie...he actually liked them
he says i should open up an anime/manga shop since i'm so into it ^_^;

I have a more, err... serious reason why my parents hate it.
My parents hate/dislike manga/anime/anything or anyone Japanese because of the genocidal attacks on the Chinese by the Japanese before WWII... Highlight below to see examples of what they did.
Forced children to kill their parents, tore out babies from pregnant women's wombs, raped, skinned, everything!
I don't hold a grudge against them, but my parents (and almost everyone else who is a first-generation Chinese) do, so I have to keep my manga-reading a secret.

im not as worse out as some of you but my parents really dont like Japanese stuff.
I like the music but my mom doesn't really like it even though she says she sortof does.
my dad is a whole other story...he doesn't seem to care about any of the things i like at all and doesn't even bother to hide it.
but then there's my bro. when i'm with the evil overlord (aka the president) of the anime club at Northern Michigan University i can talk about manga/anime all i want

inuyasha3896 my parents don't like it when i read manga. mainly because they judge books by the cover and they can't read it without getting a headache. blaugh xd My parents took a look at Eyeshield 21 and said it looked A.D.D... Too much going on in such a short amount of time.
