Also... the reasons for getting to the Island really shouldn't be too "twisty". Something simple is likely to be a lot more believable.

But circumstances where someone is expected to be gone for a long time are definitely good, like the Mormons on their mission idea, or foreign study.

Anyways, Others can use the missionary/forign exchange student if they want. It can be a very flexable reason.

Nita was supposedly going for a sort of study abroad/independant study program.

If other quest characters are college students that might be interested in that kind of thing, I don't mind if they use a similar scenario. 3nodding

That would work pretty well, provided you actually know about the religious group in question. [Not "you" in particular, but anyone using that scenario. 3nodding ] Otherwise it would be kinda offensive >.>

Why are people posting in an idea innovation thread, then saying "don't steal my idea"? If you don't want your idea 'stolen', wouldn't it be more practical to not post your idea in a thread designed to help others come up with ideas on how to get to the island?

Anywhoo, got a few ideas.

To suit a criminal character - Somebody on death row who is commited for violent heinous crimes, and due to be put to the Electric Chair any day now. Somebody at Feral labs wants a test subject for say, a serum to test placidity (note: herbivore), and an insane murderous criminal is the best way to test this. So, Feral Labs bribes off Death Row guards for said prisoner (some police can be corrupted for large bribes. Obviously not all but some), and death row guards take criminal to awaiting van and write him off as dead. Death Row criminal thinks he is getting transferred to a different prison, but is actually being flown to Feral Labs to begin. =3 In the 1800s, science institutions used to regularly obtain hanged bodies for biological learning so this is not such a crazy idea. (Suggestion animals for this: suited to any herbivore or very timid easily frightened animal)

To suit a beauty contest afficionado - This gal is down on her luck. She's spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on makeup, dresses, and supplies trying to win beauty contests/pageants, but never has actually won anything. She came in second (or third) once, but never more than that. Finally, she receives a note in the mail about a Beauty Parlour where you can get a "complete makeover" and a tropical resort holiday in the Carribean to boot. So, she contacts the phone number on the flier and arranges travel there. X3 (Suggestion animals for this: Lyre bird, Peacock (w/tg serum), any brilliant coloured bird, lizard or fish really)

Important Politician - This dude/gal is really firm and right wing about one issue in paticular, and has enemies. Somebody sends them a note with an offering of help to "overcome our common enemy" at a meeting place high on a cliff overlooking a beach out of town, so said politician goes there that night. While there, a member from Feral Labs kidnaps them and throws them into the back of an unmarked white van. They then stage the politician's suicide and steal them away to the island. (Suggestion animals for this: Anything!)

Homeless person - A homeless loser (could be down on their luck, or some kind of issue that got them there) moves to a feeding facility for their nightly meal. This is also the place where addictive serum number 45 is handed out to addicts. The people who run the charitable facility notice the homeless person and offer them a better life where they will be housed permanently. They are then shipped to the island. (Animals suited to this: Anything!)

Entertainer - This person could do children's parties, stand up comedy, etc. In any case, they get a rather strange request. To entertain a very large group of people hard up for entertainment. They are skeptical at first, but it's an opportunity to travel, and an all expenses paid holiday, so they go to the island. (Animals suited to this: Anything, though I would suggest something bright coloured, flamboyant, or comical looking, such as an African Grey Parrot)

A Traitor in the Ranks - A member in a staff position of your choice is becoming unhappy with the immoral aspects of the island. So they seek to contact the outside world and tell everybody about the horrific things that take place on the island. Unfortunately for them... their plan backfires and Moreau finds out. So, he throws them into the test subjects for punishment. (Animals suited to this: Anything, but I'd suggest something really gross or ugly)
