marysservant Ehhh, you were expecting this, YOU KNOW IT! I don't like it that much... sweatdrop You must understand, I don't like the Crucifixion (or any other religious scene for that matter) displayed in some abstract surreal manner, it seems to undermine the whole essence of it, makes it less serious. Now as art, it's perfectly fine (I actually like it, good job) but I don't think art of that nature should be used for devotions or veneration, simply because it sort of distorts the reality of it all, you know what I mean?* * otherwise I think it's quite fantasticYou're awesome marysservant, you know that? Definently the moral conscience of this guild. 3nodding You're right to be cautious when dealing with devotion. I don't think fargocraft's abstract cross undermines the essence of the Crucifixion. The essence - that's all the senses we have plus everything going on in all of Heaven and earth contributing to those moments of salvation! Who knows what it looked like from God's point of view! I think perhaps fargo's crucifix allows one more glimpse into that mystery. Reality is not only what we know with our five senses. We mortals cannot possibly guess the brilliance and utter magnificence of that Act - when all we saw was a poor criminal hanging in the hot sun in the throws of death. cry

No offence meant Fargokraft, but I just don't like it. Its too blood/gore + abstract for me. I like some abstract stuff, but I'm really picky about it.
Also, I'm going to move this thread to the art subforum, I'll leave it in the main forum for a little while longer.

One can never understand something, if one does not try to understand...

O.o; for some reason I tried to undelete this thread (for some odd reason I had thought it was deleted, misread something in the moderater panel xD so for my fellow tyran--err, mods, if you are wondering why I moved the Crucifix thread right after Pandali did--just know that I can be quite retarded sometimes). Hehehe... sweatdrop Sorry if I make no sense.

I thought it was a really interesting and personal interpertation. I agree that I wouldn't be happy with it in a church, but that's only because I prefer really traditional things. I like it as art. smile its nice.
