I'm not sure about anything the actors do at my school... except for initiation at the cast party where you are blindfolded then led around and made to think you are jumping over holes or something.. then you are unblindfolded and everyone either stares at you really weirdly, or you get to the end of the line, and everyone starts kissing the next person's cheek... then when they get to you, they psyhe you out and slap you in the face. It hurts..
The techies, however, have Techcersizes. We go through each postion of crew... starting with Set Crew, Spots, Sound, Lights, then we have our inside jokes like The Student Tech Director, The Tom (our Tech Director), or The Nikki, which makes fun of me.. it started when I was stage manager... and I was always getting off headset, so the Nikki was, "Headset on, head set off." and you do the hand motions for it. Then of course there are the 10 Iriquois Thrusts.. which are hilarious and I feel sorry for the people who see us... haha.

Oh the memories! At my school before every show we had a tradition of doing what we called Energy Check, where we got our energy up for the show by playing theatre games and stuff. All the games were written in a book, which is kept by the two seniors who lead it. The book gets passed down to two new people at the end of the year. (I was one of the Bookkeepers.) We'd all stand in a circle holding hands. It would start by doing the chants, for lack of a better term. The leaders would shout the words, and everyone else would shout them back. They were, um, I guess you could call them toung twisters of sorts. Some of them were fun. "I am not a fig plucker nor a fig plucker's son, but I'll pluck those figs till the fig plucking's done." A lot of the time the immature freshmen would say them wrong on purpose. I added a chant to the book that I stole from a hockey chant. "Gimme an O! Gimme an R! Gimme a G! Gimme a Y! What does that spell? Orgy! What does that mean? Teamwork Teamwork Teamwork!". And we'd do some of the games. I dont' know if I can even remember all of them. Um, Ride the Pony's kind of hard to explain. Oh, the pulse! Everyone holds hands and closes their eyes. The leader squeezes the hand of one of the people standing next to them. The pulse goes around the circle and you have to try to see how fast you can get it. Sometimes they send out two. Another game is the counting game. You start at 10 and count down as fast as you can, but when you get to 1, you don't say one. You hold up 1 finger. If anyone says 1, you have to start over. I can't remember any more. But at the end we would do The Word. We'd pick a word, ususally it had some kind of meaning behind it, and everyone gets down near the floor and you chant the word, starting really softly, and jump a little. Gradually you get louder and louder till you're shouting and jumping as high as you can. It's great fun, and a great way to get psyched up for the show. I'd try to remember more, but this is already a huge post.

Jaar Human Machine is another good one.Someone stands there and just does a random motion and makesson walks up and touches them somehow. They join the Machine but they are a new part of the machine. And so and and so on... Its really funny when you get like 10 people all up there making idiots of themselves... xd I've tried that! It's too much fun. ^__^ The first time I attempted it, I made the mistake of making a fast beep-type sound. I had trouble breathing. xd

We do ones like 'Kiddie Want A Corner', 'Yes, let's!', just plain old 'Yes!!', a few stress relievers, 'Elbow to Elbow', and one what a guy made up and named after himself: The Greggor. It's one of our favorites because it's really fun to do just before a show! We do a few more but I'm too lazy to list them.
