Chailyn laughed, oh did she have brothers and sisters. "I have lots of brothers and sisters. There's Dully and Cilly, Cyrus and Miette, Linn and Kali, Rosa and Prem-" she stopped counting on her fingers. Was that all? She mumbled through the list again before nodding her head. Yes, she was pretty sure that was everyone. "I think that's all of them. My mommy likes to adopt children that are orphans."

She actually didn't know what the word orphan meant. She hadn't ever really thought of it before. Somehow she thought maybe it meant they were like her and popped out of books (or at least that's where her mother said she came from) or other things. "I like having a big family. I kind of wish I wasn't the baby though, even though Miette's younger than me, Mommy found me last," she sighed.

"Found?" Diae asked very interested now. Was Chailyn like him aswell? Did his Mu find him instead of just have him? The boy titled his head to the side as he thought about the day he woke up to Hikari curled up on the floor as if awaiting for some monster to pop into the room and maul them both.

Now that he thought about it, he was 'found' aswell.

"My Mu found me too..." Diae said slowly, "Does that make me an orphan?" He asked with fear tinging his words, acting as if the word was the plague of sorts.

After a few seconds ticked in Diae's mind the question finally hit him.

"What's an orphan?"

"No, we aren't orphans. I don't think..." she paused, taking hold of Diae's hand and walking him over to Ane. She smiled at her mother, "Mom, what's an orphan?"

Anemone peered at her daught, giving a warm smile to Diae. "An orphan is a child who lost thier parents, honey. They don't have any relatives and so they are adopted by people." She leaned over kissing the tale on the forehead, "That's why it's so important to love people."

Chailyn gave a nod and turned to Diae, "We're not orphans. We're...well, I'm a tale. That's what my book says anyways."

"I have a book too! My Mu is always looking strangely at it, like it will bite me...Am I a tale?" Diae asked, thoughts drifting to where he sat upon the study table, the tome behind him with it's ominous powers locked away for just a while more.

"Did you wake up in the big room with the big book too?"
Diae asked bouncing on the balls of his feet.

Chailyn looked at Diae, somewhat amazed. Usually she had a small sense of other tales. It was just something most tales seemed to know but somehow she hadn't even thought of it. She gave a nod of her head, "Mm-hmm. We're both tales." It took her moment but she finally giggled and hugged her new friend happily.

Anemone practically dropped her glass. Diae was a tale, too? She blinked a few times turning her head to look at Hikari. She was always interested in what other authors had experienced but never brave enough to say anything.

"Is Chai my sister too?" the naive boy asked, his mind befuddled for a short moment. It was perfectly possible wasn't it? The girl was a Tale as was he. It's like if Sie is a Corrigan and Diae was a Corrigan...Both were Corrigans...Thus they were brothers. So in the boy's shaky logic, he could see them being related by the big book.

Hikari who had been listening in choked on the lemonade she had been stirring. She was surprised that the pink clad child was a Tale as well, of course. But now Diae was being ridiculous. She glanced over to Anemone, justifying her as the guardian and shot her an apologetic look.

With a sigh and a boost of confidence, Hikari navigated her way over to Anemone, holding out her hand in a gesture of friendly means.

"Hello, I'm Hikari and it seems that Diae has taken to your daughter. I'm sorry if we are disturbing you in any way."

Anemone gave a laugh, not that he was positive he couldn't be her brother but she didn't think so. "I don't think, Diae. You did both come from the study though," she added.

She probably should've added more but her attention shifted to Hikari. "Of course you aren't bothering us. It's a pleasure to meet you Hikari. I'm Anemone." She smiled gently taking the woman's hand in her own.

Chailyn on the other hand was intrigued by this suggestion. A tale for a brother? Now that was a perfect and wonderful idea! She beamed throwing her arms around Diae. She didn't care that her mother said no, "It'd be fun to have a brother that came from the book like me! Can't we be brother and sister anyways?" she grinned looking up at their mothers.

Hikari could only laugh aloud as the beaming faces of both tales shined their way. In attempts to not hurt any ones feelings she covered her mouth until she could speak without too much interruption.

"You can be brother and sister at heart, how's that?"

Diae pondered this for a moment before giving Chailyn a squeeze in return of the near glomp. "O'au! Yay! I have a sister!"

The tale quickly calculated what having Chailyn as a sister would entail.
"That means; you mumu is my aunie and my mumu is your aunie and we- and we!" Caught up in the excitement coherent sentences left the boy as he paused and thought of how to end his statement. "An' we can be friends!"

Chailyn grinned, she was thrilled to have a new brother. And this wasn't an ordinary brother, no he was like her! She laughed in delight hugging her new found sibling. "We can be best friends!" she replied.

Her purple eyes looked at Hikari and she moved forward slightly. She curtsied, thank goodness for ballet, bowing her head to the woman. "Hi, Aunie Hikari! I'll be a good-" she paused wondering what she was to this woman.

She turned her head to look at her mother, tilting her head in plea.

"Niece. If Hikari is your aunt, you are her niece and that would make Diae my nephew," she explained giving a slight laugh. True, they had it a bit backwards but it was better than having them think Hikari and her were husband and wife.

Hikari chuckled and gave Chailyn a warming smile before kneeling with open arms towards the girl offering an embrace.

"You'll be the perfect Niece, and I promise I'll be the best Aunt I can." It wasn't everyday a new family memeber joined on a whim. Yet Hikari was lucky to be introduced to this faux-aunt job with her son, Sie and his friend Cheshire. It felt less awkward to just accept Chailyn as family, especially if Diae held so much trust in her.

Diae however was bent on showing just how good of a nephew he could be. He hugged Chailyn back with as much glee as possible before turning to look at his mother.

"My Mu is your Aunie now? Is your Mu my Aunie too?" Diae pondered aloud to Chailyn before following her example. He dragged his small form clad in clothing far to many sizes too large. Awkwardly the younger tale bent in a bow he had learned from Sie before tripping his way over to Anenome, gripping the nearest appendage.

"I'm Diae, and Diae 'n Eain will be goot nephoos, 'kay?"

He said making sure not to leave the trusty ragdoll out of the equation.

Chailyn easily made her way into Hikari's open arms and hugged her new aunt. She giggled, "Auntie!" She mentally made a note that she had to find a gift for her new aunt. She'd definately have to take her mother for a shopping trip, she has so many people to find gifts for. It was certain that sometime she'd end up making her mother go broke especially with Christmas coming.

Smiling gently down at Diae, Anemone lifted him into her lap making sure that Eain was carefully in his hold. She didn't want to drop the little rag doll, especially since the boy loved him so much. "I'm sure you both will be lovely nephews," she said. She smiled taking Eain's little hand and shaking it. She wanted to make sure to include him in this.

The tale grinned turning to face her mother. It was wonderful to see her mother smiling. Perhaps a nephew was just what she needed. Chailyn was sure that the five of them would be a wonderful family. "We'll be the best family ever!" she cried out in delight.

Hikari also pulled the other tale into her arms, letting Chailyn hug her bringing up a hand to tap her nose.

"And a great family we will be, indeed."

"We promise to be goot nephoo's for Aunie." Diae said grinning from ear to ear. He whipped his head about to face Chailyn and squirmed in excitement. "I go see Chai-chai now." He whispered to Anenome before sliding off of her lap to dash over to Chailyn and his own mother.

"Chai!" Diae chirped upon reaching them, standing stiffly as if a soldier at attention. "Jus' like my Mu, I protet you too! 'N we can be bestest friends like Eain 'n me!" He tacked the ending on with much enthusiasm.

He stopped in a stick of what to say next.

"Wha do we do now?" Diae brought his thumb to his bottom lip and tapped it. Looking from Chailyn to Eain. The Tale's eyes light up as an idea entered his spikey head. "Wanna play a game?"

"Diae, love." Hikari cautioned. "I'm quite sure that Chailyn and Auntie Anenome have stuff they need to do."

Diae looked at his new aunt with pleading written in his face.

"Does Aunie Ane 'n Chai-chai have stoof to do now?"

While it was true that Anemone should collect Chailyn, she couldn't find the heart to drag Diae's new sister away from him. She looked up at Hikari then back at the other tale, "I suppose one game would be all right." It really would be all right, they didn't have to get Chailyn's shopping list finished today.

"Yes the three of us can play a game!" Chailyn said excitedly. All the worry flooded from her eyes and she grinned rushing over to hug her mother in thanks. She took hold of Diae's hand and promised they wouldn't take too long.

Hikari nodded in agreement to Anenome's suggestion and watched with a completed feeling. It was nice knowing that Diae was capable of making friends opposed to the anti-social behavior he displayed not to long ago.
"Don't go far, you two." Hikari said, waving the two off.

Diae let out an excited chuckle and let Chailyn drag him off to wherever she was headed to.

"What're we gonna play Chai?" attempting to keep up to the other tale who had his hand captive.

If it hadn't been for the fact they were at a cafe, she would've suggested tag. In their current surroundings it just would've been a disaster though. She pondered thinking of just what game they could play. They couldn't played catch with Eain...whether she thought it would scare the ragdoll or Diae would object was hard to tell.

"What can we play?" she pondered. If only she had brought something with her. "I can't think of anything," she admitted solemnly after a few more minutes of pondering.

There weren't many things around them that could be used as toys. Her mind was having a terrible time trying to piece things together into a game. What she wouldn't give to be in the park where they could run around.
