:: RP Log :: "First Impressions"Dark Fire Angel "THAT'S IT! How in hell did I get stuck with you anyhow?!" the howl that drifted into the shop as a grey kyun practically stumbled in through the door and fell on the floor, quite in a heap of spikes and... metal, was no doubt loud enough for anyone in in the near proximity to hear. Not only that, but Pyry, whom just so happened to be clinging to said kyun's head, gripping the larger creature's horns, was quite sure that even the gods would've heard the cry. In fact, it was that notion which reassured the pala he should indeed answer for once.
"Because you lost at rock paper scissors with Fafnir?"
Of course, needless to say that the pala's claim was meet by a howl of rage from the kyun, whom picked himself off the ground and proceded to 'chase his tail', almost as if hoping he'd somehow reach behind his head to growl at the young pala, "He CHEATED! It was an UNFAIR MATCH!" with all the running around, and the squealing from Pyry whom seemed to be ... oddly enough, enjoying himself, neither really noticed the younger pala that sat off to the side...
That is, till it was too late and they practically tripped over her, sending them all three rolling about in a ball of grey metal spikes, blue and purple,. landing once they all hit the wall to the side. Happy Tofu The moment the voices-- one strange and one terrifyingly familiar-- reached her, the young Pala began inching away in the hope of leaving without ever being noticed. Unfortunately, this was not to be.
For Yin hadn't even the time to squeal in terror before she was literally rolled up in the middle of the worst thing that had ever happened to her! Still, the fact that she hadn't had prior warning didn't seem to keep her from squealing after the fact, which she was precisely doing now, and quite skillfully at that.
The loud, high-pitched noise of dismay rose in a steady crescendo until it stopped suddenly as the three smacked, hard, into the wall. The moment Yin recovered from the shock and the pain and the horrible truth of how much she had just suffered, she seemed to remember her ability to make pathetic noises, and promptly resumed doing so.
This time it was more of a whimper, though, accompanied by small beads of tears crowded into the corners of her eyes as she stared at the two, asking without asking just what she had done to deserve such a... a... a... castigation!
Dark Fire Angel Nevermind the fact he'd just been smacked into a wall, and nevermind the fact there was a young Pala sniffling her eyes out; none of this seemed to have bothered Pyry, whom slowly sat up, having landed on top of the grey hued kyun, rubbing his head slightly. In fact, the overly cheerful pala had decided it'd been quite fun indeed! To a point he felt the need to voice this, in the form of shrill giggles, marred by the obvious dizzyness he felt, for he blinked and swayed, then giggled... then blinked, swayed and giggled again, all in order, "Tha's fuuuun~~" the words were slurred as he grabbed ahold of Gabriel's horn in hopes the world would stop spinning around him.
After all, as fun as it'd been, enough was enough, and the fact he felt like falling over was not helping his mood; perhaps all he needed.... was to hug something, or someone, and of course, his first choice was to latch himself around the Kyunru's horn, murring softly.
"Mrrrrft..." a grey paw slowly curled from the odd position it'd been in and reached up to rub a grey hued temple. Unamused and utterly dizzy, not to mentioned pained, Gabriel felt he simply could not manage to pick himself off the floor, "Gonna go kill myself, ugh, the bloody room... spinning," instantly, he closed his eyes from the spinning picture in hopes he'd not double over and be sick right there.
In fact, so centered around his own pain was he that it actually took him several moments to notice that the giggling and the pathetic sniffles came from two diferent pala; he'd thought at first he'd been seeing double, "Please do stop crying..." the words thought meant to be harsh were slurred instead and came out softly, mostly a whisper. Tell truth, there was just one thing Gabriel knew he could not handle, and it was someone else crying. He could just.... not DO crying.
He was unsure what to do, after all, he could handle yells, curses and the lot, but crying... was beyond him, "Pleeeeease...." it was a pathetic whine on his end as he reached and lamely gavethe purple form a nuzzle as best as he could from his odd position, he eyes soon enough closing tight again as he groaned.
"FUN!"
"Ugh...." Happy Tofu These two fools didn't seem to be aware of just how utterly and incurably they'd marred her psyche, thus it was becoming clear she'd just have to explain it to them! Unfortunately, that meant not only talking to them, but having to stay around them for some period of time, and... well, that was just no good. At all.
She had to go off and heal, not stick around here and risk being damaged further! She had to recover and remind herself why life was beautiful, despite the fact that such horrible things kept happening.
Then again, they really were stupid, weren't they? It wasn't as though what had just occurred was anything to be giggling about or-- or to be calling FUN! Nor were tears something one could merely turn off! Her soul was possibly ruined forever, thanks to THEM, and the best they could do was to demand that she stop crying?!?!
In fact, such a heartless request only made her cry harder, the tears now flowing down her cheeks freely. With pathetically shining eyes and a quivering lower lip, Yin forced the words out, shaky as they were, "Do you... not realize what you have done to me!? Do you not care!?"
This was a sacrifice she'd make, for the future of others like her. For her OWN future!
Dark Fire Angel UGH!
The kyun groaned a second time as the female-ish pala (because seriously, such attitude could only be defined as female-ish within Gabriel's mind) snapped at him, making his head ache even further than it'd been doing so in the past few minutes. She was acting as if this were all his fault! It wasn't like he'd planned to pass his time stumbling, rolling and smacking into a wall, right? Why in hell's name was she barking and crying at him?!
"Ooooooh, shut up, will you?" again, the words were meant to be harsh, but due to the obvious dizzyness he still felt... they fell short of a whisper, the sound hissed through gritted teeth as he slowly managed to sit up, "It's not like it'll scarr you for EVER, now will it?" he on the other hand... WAS ruined for ever, both his reputation and ... well, his pride and ego, that was for sure.
It didn't help matters that Pyry had taken to hoping up and down atop his head, ruffling his spikes and increasing the force of his acheing ten fold, "Are ALL freakin' pala CRAZY?!"
Crazy.
Tee, he liked the sound of that word! However, he oddly enough did not know the meaning of it, and thus made mental note to check with Fafnir about the meaning once they both got home. But first! It was so obvious poor Yin needed a great big bear hug to rid those tears, and thus without further hesitation (not like he'd really hesistated in the first place), the blue hued pala swooped down from his perch and scooped up the purple, slightly younger pala into a nice warm hug.
"Awwwwwwwww! No worries!!" the words were chirped happily as he nuzzled the side of his face into her, much as if she were a plushie or ... something else all together. Needless to say it never crossed his mind that such actions were NOT going to help. At all. Happy Tofu She vaguely wondered if it was Pala-y possible to run out of tears, but soon concluded if it is, she'd be the one to discover it, and today would be the day.
"...you are crazy! And you're horribly mean, and YES IT WILL... I mean HAS... scarred me!"
As for Pyry's hug, well... there were simply no words in English or Kunkunese that could ever properly get across just how MICROSCOPIALLY she wanted to be hugged at that moment, and thus, she settled instead for the longest, loudest, highest pitch screech she'd ever uttered, coupled with tears galore.
Dark Fire Angel "Right, crazy.... says the shrill squeal spazzy THING," the words were snapped back as the kyun growled, lowered his head and placed his nose right against Yin's. Of course, it never ocurred to him either that this was simply... not the best way to go around things, nor did it occur to him that he was basicly going to make the situation ten times worse.
But then again, Gabriel was not known for his intellect or his patience for that matter, and fact was... he was dizzy, he had a headache and he was not in the best of moods by far, "And will you STOP crying and screaming and shrilling?!" of course, it was no doubt amusing that he too was allready screaming and shrilling right back at the female pala, so really, who was he to talk? "MY HEAD HURTSSSS~~!" and the fact was... this was probably not going to change any time soon by the looks of it.
Idly, the kyun wondered if turning to hit his head against the wall would do any good, really, because at this point, he was looking for any solution for his present problems, which happened to come in the form... of two Pala. As if Kuns weren't bad enough.
Pyry on the other hand simply did NOT seem to understand that his hug was making things worse, and thus as soon as her high pitched scream rang across them room, he opted for hugging her even more and further, going as far as giving her a very swee,t very good natured kiss on the forehead, "Awwwwwwww~~"
He'd seen it work in those movies his human watched, and since it worked wonders in that lil magical thing called TV, it was BOUND to work in real life, "It's okay! Here for you! Won't let go till you stop crying," he purred happily, still snuggling her as Gabe watched, looking just about ready to opt for the hitting his head on the wall technique; anything was better than THIS.

:: RP Log :: "???"Trelweny Oh! The unicorns are lovely! So many new (& old) faces around here! Keyna sniffs the air at all the air in curiosity. So many new scents! She is excited, & yet he brown eyes lower in sadness. She had rather hoped to see Fafnir today. Keyna had been working diligently on her speech & wanted to show the dragon-kin her progress. With a soft little mew, Keyna hid her face in her hair.Dark Fire Angel [image snip] Boredom. It was pure and utter boredom what he felt, laying down over the grass, one paw elegantly crossed over the other as his languid gaze stared off into the distance. Fact was, however, that the dragon disliked this sense of boredom about him; boredom was for Gabriel to feel, not him, and yet here he was, looking off grimly to the side because he felt restless.
Restless... that was the word, wasn't it?
His lip raised slightly into a silent snarl as he pondered the feeling over; he should be doing something, anything, really... and yet he had no idea what it was he should be doing. Reading? No, Fafnir had found earlier that morning he did not feel like reading. In fact, he felt restless because he wished to do something, yet... he lacked the ability to figure out exactly what that something was. Thus was why he'd slunk out of reach of his house mates so early, not wishing to deal with Gabriel's roars nor Pyry's enthusiastic squeals; both sides of a spectrum he must've lay between.
Life was simply not looking bright at the moment.
Slowly lowering his head over his paws, the dragon allowed his eyes to drift shut, his maw opening into a yawn which forced his long serpentine tongue to curl. In fact, he would've no doubt drifted off to sleep had a... soft mewl not reached him. An ear twitched slightly, one eye opening to glance around till a distinctly familiar figure became visible in the near proximity, "Good morning... why is it you feel the need to do that?" his head had not raised from his paws, however, it was obvious he was further more alert than he'd been mere seconds ago.
Okay, so he wasn't all that bored anymore.Trelweny [image snip] The fae lifted her head, the sadness slowly fading from her brown eyes until they glimmered with happiness.
"Fafnir!" She exclaimed softly. Now she was glad she had worked so hard on her teacher’s name. "I am glad to see you." Each word was spoken slowly & precisely, as if she wanted to make certain there were as few errors as possible. She blushed prettily before answering his question & looked at him sideways through her hair. "No need to do that... now."
Embarrassment struck her and Keyna inadvertently batted her eyes, trying to look down & yet wanting to keep her eyes on Fafnir's at the same time.((Sorry that took so long... dinner was more awkward than I expected. :sweat)) Dark Fire Angel It'd been a long while since he'd last seen her, and thus he'd never been present to watch her improve in her talking, however, the fact she'd spoken his name out loud was enough to get the dragon to lift his head from his paws; normally languid eyes opening completely to outright stare at her as an ear twitched.
She truly was talking... he could hear her.
Before he could help himself a smile came across his maw; an honest one, rather than the usual self confident better-than-thou one the dragon was used to sporting, "Very good..." this said, he slowly stood up, padding his way towards her, not truly feeling the need to use the elegant stride he usually sported his pacing in; after all, today was a special day. He'd been bored and restless, and this presented something to do other than mourn.
He was not Gabriel after all.
However... amusingly enough, her later actions confused him; Fafnir had not been around other kyuns bar... Gabriel and she whom had been his mate for a short time, and really, neither kyun had been a star when it came to social behavior. The poor Fae's hints feel upon deaf ears and blind eyes, or rather, best said, Fafnir was too socially inept to understand what she'd meant. Time and patience could work wonders though.
A soft frown creased his features as he lowered his head to come eye to eye with her, "Why don't you feel the need anymore?" a pause, a brow arching elegantly, "Are my eyes strange? You keep looking down to the ground... I do not bite, unlike others I know, rest assured," and this said, he bowed his head barely. Trelweny His praise felt good. Perhaps because he was the first of her kind she had met. Keyna really did not understand it. All she knew was that she enjoyed his company. He felt... safe. As Fafnir smiled so did she, her eyes lifting once more to his.
She blushed deeper at his further query. Why indeed? She thought. "I hoped to see you. Now you are here." That seemed to cover it. The use of contractions -that did not faze her in telepathy- escaped her yet in speech. Keyna startled at his next question though. "Yes! I mean no... I mean...." She floundered. "I like your eyes, though they are unusual. I know you would not bite."
Her smile wavered as she worried she had said something wrong. How much easier thought-speech was compared to this! Dark Fire Angel "That's better..." the words were murmured softly as he nodded to her, pleased that she had lifted her gaze back to his eyes; after all, it was basic instinct that lead him to believe eye contact was specially important. Something about the eyes being the windows to the soul, wasn't it? Fafnir was sure he'd read that somewhere about. Probably within one of those moldy tomes he liked to collect and reread so many times.
An ear flickered, the movement almost like a twitch as she spoke; it was odd hearing her out loud, but nonetheless pleasant, "Well, you're seeing me now, aren't you? Was my presence so important?" his head tilted the other way then, almost as if in silent question, "Would you have been sad if I'd not have been here?" A paw reached out to place itself upon her maw, silencing her stuttering, his eyes still wide open, "Don't worry, it's fine. Relax yourself. You can go little by little. I understand telepathy just as well, don't force yourself."
This said, he lowered the paw and smiled again, "You look nicer when you smile... don't worry." Trelweny "Yes. Yes. Yes." With each affirmation to his questions Keyna's smile grew brighter... even if she had to resist the urge to look demurely away as embarrassment again overcame her. It was her nature to glance aside, but the peacock hued kyun gleaned that Fafnir preferred eye contact. In truth, so did she. But why should the truth of her answers unnerve her thus? Her eyes glimmered over the paw at her mouth. Keyna felt her breathing calm, her stance relax.
She flushed at the compliment, even as she felt the strange coolness of air where his paw had been touching her before. Keyna managed to keep her eyes attuned on his, though hers blinked more. "I can speak.... if it pleases you." The truth in that struck her after the words were out. They were the right words, but had a possible double meaning Keyna had not searched for when choosing them.
"Thank you." The smile touched her eyes. "So do you."
"Do you not usually smile often?" Her head tilted as her eyes backed up the query.

:: RP Log :: "Pyry Grows"Dark Fire Angel Mouuuu.... no one was around... no one to play with and no one to hug! What was he to ever do if he was all alone?
Well, for Pyry the answer to the question seems horribly easy; he had to set out on the quest to find someone, of course! Because, after all, he knew others were around; they just seemed busy. For example, he'd passed by Fafnir and another kyunru on the way inside the Elderspark shop, timidly pushing the door open to peek inside. He'd found no one inside, or at least... he'd found no one on first glance.
"Nyu...?"
His voice was soft, barely audible, the sole word without a meaning; after all, Pyry had, amusingly enough, never learnt either english or kun-kunese. It made it quite hard for him to interact with others, however, that never seemed to stray him from his goal; in fact, quite the contrary! It only seemed to fuel his desire to keep on going and try harder.
Thus was why he pushed the door further and walked in, his hooves resounding upon the wooden floor as he lifted his nose in the air; a distinctly familiar scent reached him, making him giggle softly; he knew the scent well... it had to be her, "Yay!" he peeked around the leg of a chair to spot a certain yin yang pala, his tail coming up to poke her shoulder as he smile. She was.... the closest thing he had to a friend (at least where pala were concerned, because really, he'd befriended every bug, and every flower he'd encountered in his home back yard! He'd tried to befriend the rocks too, but they were usually quite boring and had little to say.) Happy Tofu Yin froze, muscles tensing the moment she heard the door open and... sensed, somehow, exactly who was approaching her. Although, oddly enough, she did not squeak or make a move to run this time; if anything, the fact that it was him made it much less scary to her. Likely-- though she hardly realized as much, focusing entirely too much on mourning her soon-to-be-gone solitude-- because she had "survived" multiple encounters with him, usually unharmed, whereas everyone else... perhaps were not as easy to endure. The unknown, after all, was often more scary than the known.
That hardly made this enjoyable, however. She suppressed a whine when she felt the tail poke, turning her head toward Pyry anyway. Unfortunately, it soon became clear that somehow she had miscalculated. Somehow... she had made an enormous misjudgment, one that could very likely cost her her... her very life!
Because the stranger behind her was NOT Pyry; it was some ENORMOUS, terrifying monster and probably a very, very hungry one at that! Belting out the most pathetic wail of despair in the history of the Elderspark shop, she shook uncontrollably as she scrabbled back against the wall, starring up -- way, way up -- at the monster, begging silently with her eyes for it to have mercy. Dark Fire Angel Well, that surely wasn't the reaction he'd have hoped, however, it was a well known one. Or at least, it was a reaction he'd seen her have multiple times; last time he had tried hugging her to comfort her, however, if memory served him correctly, that hadn't gone all too well, so this time he decided to go about thing a bit more.... softly, and carefully.
"Nyu?" he tilted his head slightly, placing his arms behind his back, tail swishing left and right behind him before he smiled widely and spread his arms wide, the post so remarkably similar to the one he'd worn when around the other Pala... that Pyry hoped he'd recognise. It would've been easier to say 'Hey! I'm Pyry! 'member me? I scared you shitless when I was trying to hug you! I grew up over night, ain't that funny? 8D I got this funny tail too, see?' But of course.... that required him to talk, and talking was beyond the question.
Pyry knew no words other than 'Oi' which he'd learnt from Gabriel, 'Yay!' which he'd learnt by himself, and 'Nyu' which he'd learnt from... well, truthfully, he couldn't remember. No other words were know to the grown pala, and thus communication was far beyond difficult.
Still standing whilst holding the pose, the larger male sweatdroped, then droped the pose, wrinkling his nose as he racked a hand through his hair; how was he going to do this? Should he draw her a picture? Gee... "Yay?" he said almost pitifully at her as he made a lame attempt at exposing the hug pose again. Happy Tofu Unfortunately, Yin had both paws clamped firmly over her eyes, having come to the decision that being eaten wasn't as bad if you couldn't see it happening, so she missed Pyry's first attempt of signing to her.
However, as the moments passed by and she felt no pain (wasn't getting eaten supposed to hurt? or maybe the monster was so big he'd swallowed her whole?), curiosity overcame her dread and she removed one hand ever-so-slightly from her eye, peeking out from behind it questioningly.
She noticed the odd position and immediately realized it reminded her of something... but fear was still monopolizing her brain processes in a way that prevented her from figuring it out exactly what that something was. Tilting her head to the side, Yin vaguely entertained the idea of moving closer, but-- no, this was clearly a trap, and she refused to fall for it.
The odd, awkward standstill continued for quite a long while... so long, in fact, that by the end of it, Yin had calmed down entirely and was now simply confused. This monster didn't really act very much like a monster, or at least fit any of the descriptions she'd heard. In fact, the monster almost reminded her of--
--oh! That was it!
".............................Pyry?" Dark Fire Angel "Yay!" he was finally able to drop the pose, his arms reaching out to clap for her as she called out his name, which he instantly recognised; it was odd, knowing what one's name was... but not being able to say it, really, but it'd never gotten him down at all. It was just the way... things were. It was almost like a game, actually, pointing at himself as he lifted a hand in the air, making a 'growing' motion, as if trying to indicate what had happened and why he looked different than she might have remembered.
The smile never left his features, and finally he walked nearer, plopping himself down on the floor; he had to show her his tail! It was odd, and he'd woken up one day with it too o_o it'd been so.... weird. Thus so, he arched his tail in the air, wiggling it before he pointed a finger to it, "Nyu?" did she even know what it was or how it had appeared? It looked remarkably like Fafnir's tail, only... smaller and thinner.
It was visible he'd calmed down slightly since his youth, however, it was also visible (by the way he had to keep on moving, even whilst seated) that the playful, open, almost hyperactive nature was still there. Another sweatdrop slid down the back of his head as he spread his arms, "Yay?" he said softly, though by now he'd come to learn not to expect random hugs. People seemed to *GASP* no like hugs as much as HE did.
He'd always found that odd. Happy Tofu Relief was an emotion she'd never really felt before, but it was certainly not a bad experience. There was something else, too, something that caused her to smile... but only a little. Still, it wasn't a bad one either.
Focusing on his awkward form of communication, Yin was able to figure out what he was saying with little effort. "You... grew large." She picked the tail up gently in her small hands, observing it carefully. Come to think of it... she'd seen a lot of monsters like Pyry around recently. Were they all Palas? Did all Palas grow into monsters?
Would she?
The smile had vanished during her musings, replaced once again by the look of confusion. Leaning in close, she whispered in a small voice, "Do all Pala grow into monsters?" She glanced around after asking this, as though making sure none of the aforementioned monsters got angry with her for speaking about them. She had previously come to the decision that being eaten wasn't really something she wanted to experience.
Then again, she had Pyry here now. Maybe he could just step on the monsters with his bigness!
This thought brought on the second smile of the day.
Well, life. Dark Fire Angel "Yay!" he clapped his hands hands again eagerly to express his happiness; it was such a relief to have someone around that seemed to understand what little he could voice out; normal others swiftly grew tired of him. Something about him having too much energy for his own good, or something like that. Whatever the case, Pyry was usually forced to sit and watch, rather than interact, mostly because others misunderstood him, such wasn't his nature. His nature practically forced him to be friendly to ..... big large scary spiders! He HAD to be friendly and clingy to everything (even rocks. They needed love too, except they scarcely managed to show love back. It was a pity, really.)
Her words made him stop, his hand reaching up to his mouth, tapping it in thought; he didn't think they grew into monsters, but rather, just bigger pala! Bigger pala had larger wings, and they could fly! It wasn't bad. However, getting that across to her might be hard, "Oi..." he shook his head from side to side eagerly and smiled, then flapped his larger wings, "Yay!" it was all, good, really it was! Things weren't as dark and gloomy and scary as she thought them to be!
Or so Pyry thought anyhow; he'd noticed no difference after growing, except that now the cookie Jar was easier to reach than it was before. That was a bonus. Standing up, the grown Pala spread his arms out, "NYU!" almost as if proclaiming that any monsters to try and hurt her .... would have to try him before; no monsters could do anything against him, after all... because he'd befriend them!
Yup.
Besides, if all else failed he could make Gabriel protect them! Gabbu was scary enough.

:: RP Log :: "???"Tortie Asta always had a happy glow about her; no matter where she went or how she was feeling, an aura seemed to follow. Her fushia mane and tail flowed with the breeze as it seperated each strand. Her translucent wings flittered with her mane as if synchronized.
For now, she was traveling aimlessly, padding ever-so-softly on the grass. She'd watch the way the blades of grass would bend when her forepaws sank into the soft ground. Then, she'd turn her head to observe the difference between that and the way the grass flattened when her hind hooves proceeded to follow. From another's point of view, watching the adult Fae would be somewhat funny. She almost looked as though she had no idea what grass was, even though from the day she hatched, she'd been in this same enviornment.
Her ears flicked this way and that, trying to pick up any slight sound. A sigh followed before she picked up her head and breathed in the scents of the air. Dark Fire Angel [image snip] Stupid, god damn Fafnir and his stupid god damned rules; STUPID pala that kept on waking him up before he could get his beauty, and stupid freakin' kun kun that did nothing but fly around the freakin' house shouting random words which had no meaning anyhow!
As the grey kyun padded about the sidewalk, passing store and houses, a distinctly dark aura seemed to radiate about him. Then again, it wasn't like this wasn't the normal; Gabriel was used to being in a bad mood. In fact, he couldn't remember a time when he'd not been in a bad mood, which was sad in it's own way; harsh, blunt and not exactly the happiest kyun in the world, usually able to find fault with everything around him, and thus... never truly enjoying anything all that much.
Today's grumpiness had been induced by the fact Fafnir had scowled him for yelling at both Pyry and Kousen; it wasn't like he'd WANTED to yell though! The two bugs had woken him up from his nap, inevitably placing him into a foul mood. Idly he'd an out of the house, hoping a walk.... would set him into swallower waters. However, the more he walked, the grumpier he felt; in fact, his ears were plainly flattened against his head, his gaze lowered onto the pavement he padded, watching small rocks, cracks and ants as he passed them.
Needless to say... he hadn't been looking where he was going, and inevitable was the collision that followed; he rammed himself head first into... something. The collision, sent Gabriel, a couple of paces back, his balance lost in such a way he ended up seated on the ground, head raising up as did a front paw to brush the spot that now throbbed, "Ow...." a hiss followed as his silver eyes looked up and around, almost confused till they lay on the object he'd collided with.
Or rather, the Kyun he'd collided into, "Oi!" his voice was harsh, however, it was clear he seemed slightly worried; had he hurt her?Tortie So set in whatever she was smelling, the trees, the ever-so-familiar scent of grass, Asta was abrubtly awakened from her day-dream. She tumbled onto her side since she had no time to change her stance to move or even absorb some of the shock. Her bi-colored teal and pink eyes opened wide as her tiny nose sniffed out for danger.
Who was this gray Kyunru that collided with her? she thought to herself. She wasn't at all mad, but very curious. Heh, he was probably day-dreaming, also she assumed. She hadn't ever seen this male or so she didn't remember. Instead of asking for a name, though, she wanted to make sure everything was alright.
"Are you okay?" she asked in a delightfully soft voice. She gathered herself to look like she had meant to lay down and cocked her head to the side as she awaited a reply.

:: RP Log :: "Yin Grows"Dark Fire Angel ((I CAN GOD MODE ;D ... *coughs* anyhow, post because I know tofu's dieing to rp ;O I'm magical like that. Yin won't die! Pyry will protect her! ;O Pyry: 8D *points at pretty butterflies and rainbows!!! Then hugs a random spider!!* ... he needs someone to protect him thu D; )) Looking about swiftly, the Pala took to fluttering around the shop (how he'd managed to come on, or what he was even doing there was a mystery we shall never solve because the narrator is lazy like that), keen eyes staring into dark corners here and there. Pyry was obviously looking for something amongst the gadgets sold within Elderspark.
Or rather, he was looking for someone he knew was prone to hiding between said gadgets; he'd just finished a LOVELY drawing a rainbow with these pretty little trees and clouds all around it. The pala was EVER so proud of his masterpiece and needless to say, he felt the need to show it off before his best friend, Yin. However..... he was having an extremely hard time finding the other pala; in fact, after a good whole *gasp* two minutes, Pyry had decided... he better change his strategy!
"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!" he called out fearlessly, and the moment a violet hued .... something moved slightly to the side, the male pala did what first passed through his mind; aka, tackle the form down, waving his lovely masterpiece, "OI! OI! OI!" how he fished he'd have learnt how to say 'lookit', alas, he hadn't.Happy Tofu Yin had been putting a great deal of effort into staying hidden, for although she had come to enjo-- well, not hate-- Pyry's company, she was having something of a low self esteem day. See, she'd woken up recently to find herself suddenly quite large, with long strings of stuff hanging from her head, and... well, the fact was, she was quite simply ashamed of what her frien-- of what Pyry would say, were he to see the horrible deformation she'd suffered.
Unfortunately, the Illunaan knew her a little too well; she was unable to resist the flinch that resulted from his sudden outburst, and for this ended up caught. As was likely his plan to begin with.
Clamping one hand firmly over her eyes, and pushing Pyry away with the other, Yin whined at the top of her lungs, "Noooooooooooooooo!" Although quite proficient in English, the Pala seemed, at the moment, to be incapable of explaining herself further. "Nooooooooooooooo!"
It never occurred to her that covering her own eyes wouldn't successfully keep him from being able to see her. Dark Fire Angel Amusingly enough, the Illunaan was far too happy to see his friend, not to mention having finally found her, to notice her transformation; in fact it wasn't till Yin's hair began to tickle his nose (what with the fact he was actually hugging her close), that he finally noticed something... was just not right.
Taking the time to retreat ever so slightly away from her so as to be able to see her face while masterfully avoiding her flailing hand, Pyry finally looked down upon his friend; wow, no wonder he'd thought he was being able to hug a.... much larger portion of her! It was because she'd grown, "YAY!" the squeal was all too happy, in fact, horribly so, and no more than a second went by before the male pala latched himself back against her, giving a greater hug in hopes of conveying how GLAD he was that she'd grown and that he was no longer the bigger one of the two!
Now they could both fly over the rainbow in search for stars!!
Except.... not.
"Yay?" he tilted his head, reaching up to pat her shoulder, idly wondering what had her so worked up anyhow; it was a happy day! His dragon tail swished behind him to accentuate the fact, resembling much that of an overjoyed puppy.

:: RP Log :: "Enter Elrics"Dark Fire Angel [image snip] Edward sat in a corner of the room, small chubby paws holding a book that seemed to be much too big for the pala to be handling, glaring, golden eyes looking over the pages to leer at the others that happened to be sharing the room with him.
They were making so much noise! How was he ever going to get any reading done at this rate? There was just no way! Specially taking into account he was slightly worried over the fact they'd come nearer to him and Al, whom happened to be sitting by his side, reading his own book and amusingly enough... managing to get some actual reading done.
Damn...
Thus so, instead of reading, the Pala merely glared. Intently. With as much hatred as he could muster in hopes they'd all get the message and leave him and Al alone. After all, they had much to study and much to learn.
Meanwhile, it was quite obvious that Pyry was not getting the silent message, for he continued on with his very important ordeal, which basically consisted in trying to balance a branch on his nose without letting it fall while balancing his weight only one leg. Quite difficult, and needless to say, he'd crashed several times into several piles of things that had been laying around the room; Mainly Yin, furniture and otherwise ... anything 'crash-able' per say, "Yaaaay!!" he squealed happily.
However, it was obviously a bad idea, for no sooner had the older pala squealed, that he crashed down on the floor, inches away from Yin, "Ow..." [image snip] Happy Tofu [image snip] Alphonse had actually been quite enjoying his book, "Aldehydes in Biological Systems", for the last hour or so, unlike his brother who seemed incapable of focusing without total silence. However, after a long time of reading-- interesting as it was-- he found himself growing a bit restless. The Pala snuck a few hopeful, sideways glances toward his older brother, but disappointingly, Edward seemed much too focused on his reading to notice... which of course meant he would be utterly unwilling to part from the book to do something as frivolous as play.
So, Al decided to take it upon himself-- after oh-so-gently marking his spot and laying the book down-- to find something much more exciting to occupy himself with. Thankfully, this "something" was only a few feet away from where he had been sitting the whole time, and while balancing sticks wasn't his particular hobby, the Palas involved seemed to be friendly enough and having a good time so... why not! It was always fun to try new things and meet new friends!
He initially moved toward them in a near-skip, but slowed to a shuffle toward the end. His paws were both folded shyly in front of him as he shot them with his most pathetic, hopeful look. "Could I maybe play with you?"[image snip] Yin was quickly learning that Pyry had an inexpicable ability to take any old thing and entertain himself with it... sometimes even for hours. In this particular case, he was trying to do crazy stunts with a branch he'd tripped over earlier... for reasons she couldn't quite wrap her mind around. Although he seemed to be enjoying himself greatly, she certainly had NO plans to join in-- if anything, she was only sticking around so he'd have a friend there to drag his corpse to the emergency room when he finally broke a bone or punctured an organ.
Not that she was merely watching him, of course. Rather, Yin was putting every molecule of effort into looking as disappointed and angry at him as possible. Earlier, she'd protested his antics as dangerous and tried to sell the idea of sitting and watching some grass grow instead-- but she'd lost that battle.
There were still priorities to consider, though, so when the strange new Pala began to head in their direction, the importance of cowering behind Pyry overcame the importance of guilting him into grass-watching. It wasn't as though she could even try to protect Pyry from his hobbies once trapped in the stomach of a GIANT MONSTER, after all. D:Dark Fire Angel Obviously his glares of doom were not working, for not only did the older pala not stop making noise and leave him and Al alone, but rather, something quite the opposite happened; Al got up and offered to join them in their trivial game of branch balancing. Somehow, the idea did not seem to please Edward, for his glare hardened, if possible, his paws clinging quite tightly to the book. In fact, had it not been a book, he would've been trying to sink his claws into it, trying to inflict damage.
Alas, he was beyond harming a book, and thus he settled for looking horribly bitter about his brother abandoning HIM for such a lot of obviously HORRIBLE pala whom couldn't even learn the meaning of a glare. Amusingly enough as the lithe pala sat and huffed, he looked bitter enough to turn milk sour; however, obviously not something Al had not seen countless times.
In the end, noticing his glaring technique was not working wonders, the pala neatly closed his unread book and stood up, joining his brother's side before glaring intently at both obnoxiously larger pala. It took only a few seconds for him to grab one of Al's arms and push him behind his... smaller frame, narrowing his eyes in a silent challenge.
Balancing branches was just dumb.Picking himself off the floor in order to sit cross-legged, Pyry finally allowed the branch to rest by his side, brushing his pelt off from any dust he'd managed to gather from his close meeting with the floor; falling was never fun, but everything before falling was fun, hence why he always ended up repeating the stunts. However, he was finally tired of this particular game, and thus, merely smiled up at Yin, almost as if silently willing her to know that he was obviously done with this particular game for a while.
However, he still refused to sit down long enough to watch grass grow. Far too boring, far too... well, yeah, boring. Had Yin never heard of excitement? Adventure! Romance! And-
His train of thought crashed forcefully as a small chubby pala pranced up to them, willing to play; despite Yin's natural fear, Pyry squealed and began to lean forward in order to grab Alphonse into a playful 'Sure-you-can-join-us' hug, only to be stopped as a second less friendly pala came up, pushed the first one behind it's own body and glaaaaaaaaared.
Now, Pyry could simply not make heads or tails of the glare, and merely blinked, tilting his head to one side before looking over his shoulder at Yin in hopes she'd be able to inform him what he'd done wrong. He'd not tried to hug a porcupine this time! Why was this pala mad? Happy Tofu Yin ever-so-slowly slipped her head out from behind Pyry and frowned notably at Edward, then turned to Pyry as her expression slanted. She poked him a couple times before pulling herself up so her mouth was parallel to his ear, "He's glaring; that means he's angry. Angry expressions tend to lead to yelling and violence, so you should just walk faaaaaaar away from him and be very very sure to avoid him in all future situations..."
Despite her advice, she did feel a pang of sympathy for the original stranger. She certainly wouldn't want to be stuck behind such a terrifying thing, small as it was.Al clapped his paws together happily upon the friendly welcome, but alas, a playful game was not to ensue. As nice as it was to know his brother was so akin to his movements and quick to be protective, it often became problematic as the smaller Pala had a habit of scaring away potential friends and sometimes just flat-out forbidding certain activities.
He whined, long and high, to portray just how unwanted Edward's intervention was. Wiggling free of his grasp and slipping back out from behind him, Al moved once again toward Pyry, this time focusing his pathetic look at Ed. If he played his cards right, he'd not only be able to befriend some Pala and play with them, he'd be able to guilt his brother into doing so with him! Dark Fire Angel ((Trewl XDD Yin thinks EVERYTHING is a gigantic monster, it's amusing)) It was quite a hard procedure; both glaring while holding brother behind him, and in the end, Edward failed to accomplish the feat, for his brother slipped away just as Yin whispered something up at Pyry. These words were met with a growl as the small pala bristle, successfully losing all grip he had on Al, "I am NOT small! STOP talking about how microscopic I am compared to an ant! I CAN CRUSH AN ANT WITH MY FOOT!!" a paw was held up at both adult accusingly, his fur puffed out almost as if trying to make him taller and further more threatening than he was.
However... it was not to be; it only made him look fatter and far more stupid.
It wasn't till his brother stepped up in front of him and gave him THE look that his hand slowly began to fall from it's raised position. THAT LOOK! It was THE LOOK! How could Alphonse be using such AWEFUL, horrible, evil technique?! It was cheating! Or at least Edward considered it to be at any rate, "No!" his eyes strayed away from his brother in hopes of eluding those eyes, "I said NO! They smell funny! You can't play with them!"
OoOOoooooh... okay.
Well, Pyry had already known THAT much, but still Yin's explanation was appreciated, and he patted her shoulder in hopes she'd understand so, however... he still kinda wanted to both hug and play with the cute chubby pala, even if the other cute smaller pala was being so.... angry about. Maybe it was a game too?
In that case, Pyry wanted to join in. Very much so.
If it WASN'T the case, then Pyry felt obliged to HELP the cute pala. Yup. Easier thought than done, for as he watched the display before them he found himself merely able to tilt his head to one side before frowning and smelling his hand. Did he really smell funny? Again, he turned to Yin for an answer, looking hopelessly lost.Happy Tofu The last thing she had wanted to do was to infuritate the yellow monster, but that didn't stop her from doing so anyway. Yelping in utter terror, Yin jumped straight up into the air and landed on Pyry's shoulders. She wrapped both of her arms around his neck and clung tight, whining lowly and eyeing Edward as though he would pounce at any moment.
Once again leaning her head down to whisper directly into Pyry's ear-- though this time being quieter about it-- she rambled in a panicked manner, "You don't smell funny at all and I don't either but that's probably because we're not monsters and he is and monsters can smell things better and don't like us and hopefully he won't want to eat us since we smell funny according to his monster nose but he might anyway if he gets mad enough so," at this point she was no longer whispering at all, "PLEASE DON'T MAKE HIM MAD!!"It took a rare skill to make one's eyes water on demand, but thankfully it was one Al possessed. While making use of this skill, he also pleaded in a quivering voice caked with sadness, "Nobody said anything about you being small; you're just assuming! And you're only doing that to scare away my new friends!" At this point a few quite convincing tears were leaking out, "Do you really hate me that much, that you want me to be lonely and sad for my whole life!?" Dark Fire Angel So THIS was how monsters looked like, huh?
Pyry blinked, seemingly unperturbed, even with a trembling, screaming Yin clinging to his head; he'd come to grow used to such antics, after all, he'd been her friend for a few weeks now, more than enough time to see such displays more than a million times.
For some reason however, Pyry was still confused though; this so called monster looked a LOT like Yin when SHE was a baby. And he would've bet it looked a lot like him too when HE was little. Maybe they were ALL monsters and they just didn't know it!! Though the idea was welcomed by the Illunaan, he voiced none of this to Yin, after all, the thought would terrify HER, no doubt, and god knew he didn't want THAT. Not like he COULD voice it out anyhow, at any rate.
The display continued before his eyes, the cuter chubby monster crying and squealing as if he were in pain; of course, at this point he could not help himself and he swiftly snatched up Al offering him a great big happy hug! Because EVERYONE needed to be happy!
Taking a step back as soon as his brother burst into screams and tears, Edward was forced to hold up an arm to his face, almost as if shielding himself from the display. OF COURSE he didn't hate him! What was it Al did not understand about him wanting to PROTECT him from such obviously mentally challenged baboons?!
In fact, he was ready to explain this when Pyry reached down to hug the crying pala, obviously offending Edward EXTREMELY by doing so. How DARE he grab Al? Whom had given him permission to so much as TOUCH his little brother anyhow?! Why was he hugging him? WhYyyYYyyy?!
And why was Al OKAY with this?!
Totally at a loss of words, Edward was merely capable of widening his eyes, gaping while holding his finger up, pointing at Pyry and Yin quite accusingly. In more than one way he quite resembled a fish out of water.
In fact, so drowned within his feelings of anger was he that he never noticed Pyry bending down to grab Ed too into a big hug, hugging him along with Al.
YAY! Now they were all one big family!! He made special note to lift them up for yin to see, squealing softly to emphasise that he thought the two monsters were EXTREMELY cute indeed. Even if they WERE loud.

:: RP Log :: "The Soap Drama"Dark Fire Angel It was starting to get hard to concentrate, what with this... this thing sniffing around him so intently, crawling over his lap and nudging his arms with it's nose. Frowning, Edward moved to glare at the thing which he'd already dubbed as 'annoying', rather than whatever stupid name his human owner had graced it with. Annoying was much more fitting anyhow.
Obnoxious would've been more fitting; frustrating, annoying, obnoxious.. it was clear someone had been reading the dictionary again out of boredom!
Still frowning at the ... fluffy thing, Edward attempted to shoo it away, shoving it to one side, however, the mini wabbit would have none of it, and came right back at him, taking the side of his trench coat in it's teeth, pulling and tugging at it till it was drench in drool. Ew. Drool. Edward grimaced at the small beast, finally setting his book aside, fearful it'd also get drenched in drool. Snarling, the Pala tugged at his coat, however, the Wabbit tugged right back, again and again till Edward could take no more, "AL! GET THIS THING AWAY FROM ME!!"
Drool was gross, no matter what chemical properties it possessed. It was still gross. Happy Tofu [image snip] Al had been slowly making his way back toward his brother, his pace hindered significantly by the mound of books clutched in his tiny little arms-- a mound that easily matched his overall height. Peering out from behind the tower with a curious expression and soft "hmm?", Al attempted to quicken his pace so as to figure out just what this "thing" was that needed removing. He certainly hoped Edward wasn't referring to Pyry again; he'd scolded his brother many many times over calling the Pala (and others) "it", as that just wasn't nice!
Thankfully, his mind was preoccupied, both with concern for the books (as, whatever happened, he could not let them fall and be damaged!) and premeditation of the likely-near-future lecture he'd have to be giving, because otherwise, he would have noticed the "thing" before having gently placed the books down. Had this happened, he surely would have dropped them out of sheer excitement... and well, that would have been nothing short of a crime.
But things worked out, and by the time Al's eyes met those of the fluffy little creature, the books had saftely arrived at their destination. This gave the younger Pala the freedom to leap forward toward Edward, snatch up the Wabbit, and cuddle it in his arms as though it was his own newborn child. "OHMYGOSH, Nii-san, where did you find him? Her?? She's so fluffy and sweet and kind and oh oh, can I keep her? Please? I'll take such good care of her... I'll feed her and play with her every day and pay for all of her expenses and and love her and feed her and play with her every day and feed her and love her and love her..." At this point he was clearly no longer paying any mind to the things he was saying; he was flat-out consumed by the bliss he felt as he rubbed his cheek against the fluffy creature's head, one arm holding her as the other scritched at her back and rump.Dark Fire Angel The frown deepened as soon as Al came up and 'removed' the thing, only to grab it and cuddle it tight, offering it the love Edward doubtlessly deserved, "I didn't find it. The human owner... thing brought it with her and WHY are you cuddling it?! It was DROOLING over my TRENCHCOAT!" at this point, Edward motioned pointedly towards his clothes, looking short from pissed; surely his trench-coat and his damaged person were more important than that thing!
Meanwhile, needless to say that the Wabbit had found heaven in the arms of the young pala; she rubbed her head against Al's cheek, quite happy to have found a playmate, because the other one had refused to play with her. The other one had merely kept on reading! Can you believe it? Choosing reading over playing! Emitting soft almost mewling sounds, Fluffy kept on rubbing her head, her short tail wagging rapidly from side to side as she finally turned to lick Al's face.
Edward was not happy.
Not in the least. His frown had turned sour and his eyes glared up at the small beast whom had taken up all of Al's attention; the sound he was producing deep down in his chest came nothing short of a growl, "No you can NOT keep her! It's the HUMAN'S pet, not yours, and stealing is bad, Mr. I'm-always-lecturing-you!" of course, Edward knew full well that DFA and Tofu would've graced Al with the Wabbit if he so asked, alas, he wasn't going to SAY that though, now was he? Happy Tofu Al barely made notice that he was listening; his lovestruck expression remained solely on Fluffy. Nonetheless, he still proved he was listening to his elder by smiling all the wider, lifting his own blue sleeve to wipe gently at the animal's jaw, "Awwww, is Fluffy a little drooler? It's okay, sweetie~ I'll just wipe that away for you~"
Upon his brother's... well, untrue, but convincing, words... Al found himself torn between the joy radiating from the fluffy bundle in his arms (awww, she licked him! That must mean she loves him back! <3 <3) and the disappointment of being unable to care for her on a day-to-day basis. Although he was putting obvious effort into NOT showing this disappointment, it was plenty obviously by the downcast expression that was slowly sinking in and the oh-so-subtle misting of his eyes.
Sitting down on the floor, Al rearranged his coat so as to turn his lap into a makeshift bed. Laying Fluffy down (and thus freeing both of his arms for double-time ear-scritching and belly-rubbing), he turned look (not-so) up at his brother, expression utterly heartbroken and voice catching, "...I wouldn't be stealing, though! I'd ask them first! ...You really don't think they'd let me?"
It was quite obvious that an answer of "no" would cause instant tears. Dark Fire Angel Edward was torn between saying that 'no' that would doubtlessly end in his brother's tears, and that 'fine, keep it' that would end in smiles. Problem here was that those smiles would not be aimed at him, but rather at the Wabbit; she was getting all of Al's attention and the the blond pala was not liking it.
Not one bit.
So thus, the pala merely managed to keep on debating with himself till he sneaked a glance at his brother; those eyes... those sparkly eyes that were slowly drowning in un-shed tears decided for him, "OH FINE! Ask them! Do as you LIKE! It's not like I care that you're ignoring me for that THING!" grumbling, he turned around, offering Al his back as he stuck his nose into his book. Ears flattened back, Edward was now contemplating several ways in which he could steal that stupid wabbit away and hide it. Preferably for ever.
The wabbit would have non of it, and almost as if she could understand what the conversation was about, she licked Al's cheek again, only to hop right out of the younger pala's arms. Swiftly, she bounded over the Edward, catching his trench coat in her maw, tugging at him; dude, why was this one so grumpy anyhow? She wanted to play with both of them!
"AL! It's doing it again! GET IT OFF ME!" placing his book aside, Edward once again began a tug-o-war, growling as much as the pup was, though obviously not enjoying himself as much. Happy Tofu While relieved to hear this news, Al did anything but happily return to his little world of smiles and fluffy animals. Instead, he sighed one long, exasperated sigh at his brother's back, placing both of his paws firmly on his hips.
"Come on now, Nii-san. You might be a genius about some things, but other times you're just... ...well, you're kind of dumb!"
Half-stomping the one-foot distance between himself and his brother, Al did not remove Fluffy, but instead stared his brother down reproachfully. "If you'd just play with her, we could all have fun together. What did she ever do to you, anyway?"
Hoping to avoid any permanent damage from befalling Ed's favorite (and only, really) coat, Al finally did scoop up the little Wabbit, once again cradling her in his arms. Making a blatant effort to annoy the elder Pala, he directed his eyes to her and to her alone, and cooed in a tone of utter sweetness, "It's okay sweet little Fluffy, my brother's just grumpy and anti-social... and it's not your fault he likes books more than he likes you or me. We'll just go play by ourselves over here and have a whole lot of fun together!" Dark Fire Angel A gasp was Al's immediate answer, hands dropping the trenchcoat that Fluffy was still playfully tugging at, "What?" a twitch, "WHAT? Did you call me DUMB?!" he was doing his hardest to hide it with rage, however, that simple word had managed to wound both Ed's pride and ... something else. He wasn't quite sure what that 'something else' was, but it didn't matter anyhow, "Well... well.... you're just STUPID then! Playing with this thing instead of studying these books with me!!" He pointed at the fluff ball with one hand while he glared up at Al, whom was towering over him, staring him down reproachfully.
As far was Edward was concerned, anyone whom picked playing with .... drooling things rather than studying must've been quite stupid, even if that 'anyone' happened to be Al. Growling, he once more crossed his arms over his chest, turning to look away, this time looking rightfully enraged, though deep down, he was actually more bothered and slightly unhappy than enraged.
Ears flattened back again as Al cooed at the creature, teeth grinding, his tail feathers bristling, "It's not my fault YOU prefer HER over me and the books!" of course, counter attack in an immature way; such was Edward's course of action. Fluffy on the other hand was trying quite desperately to understand what the hell was going on, and why everyone seemed to be angry. Was it because of her? Waaaaaaaahhhhh~~
A soft sniffle, almost a whimper racked through the wabbit's small frame, teary eyes looking into Al's. Happy Tofu (( [Hides the soap opera-y-ness from everyone's eyes.] Al: It's not a soap opera! MY SORROW IS REAL! emo Oh lordy. ._.;; )) It took a great deal of strength and courage for Al to say something negative about anything, from fellow Pala to the current weather, but that wasn't to say there weren't times when it'd be necessary to the point where... well, he would speak out. Unfortunately, this was always coupled with an obligatory guilt (what if feelings were hurt and it was all his fault?) and, worse, an uneasiness that the criticism might be taken much, much worse than it was intended. Perhaps even causing a fight.
As was the case here.
His brother was being dumb, though! He whined and sulked about being ignored, but it's not as though he weren't fully invited to play, too! He was the one who distanced himself! Even besides that, it was completely ridiculous for Edward to expect Al to never have any friends and never do anything remotely dangerous in light of just... studying all the time! He couldn't even exchange a "good morning" with Yin without receiving a leer from the blond Pala.
But, alas, none of this was voiced. Al had already clearly hurt Ed's feelings, made him feel left out and unwanted, and yelling (probably weak) excuses at him wouldn't solve anything. And so, he said nothing.
He merely stood there, eyes wobbling and overflowing with tears, and his lip quivering pathetically. He clung to Fluffy without really noticing he was doing it, though her fluffiness was clearly serving as comfort to his subconscious.
With a wailed, "Well I-I'm... I'm SORRY!" Al spun on his heels, turning and running off at top-speed.Dark Fire Angel Now, of course, it was true to say that Edward was doing his very best to ignore both Al and the Fluffy he was holding however, something was biting at the back of his mind. A feeling he'd since been able to pinpoint as 'guilt', but had also long dubbed as 'that nagging voice'.
Right now it was nagging at the top of it's lungs, telling him he was wrong, that he should turn back towards his brother, that he should apologise and actually play and let him play for once. However, since he'd begun experiencing this 'nagging voice' he'd always used the same method to quell it; swapping it with an imaginary hand and focusing extra hard on his book. Thus so, Edward did just that, only to find 'The voice' would not be quelled at all. In fact, it seemed to be further enraged after his imaginary hand swatted and began to scream at the top of it's lungs, rather than nag.
This went on for a full minute, the pala merely holding his head in one hand as he tried in vain to suppress the headache that was no doubt already on it's way.
"Well I-I'm... I'm SORRY!"
His brother's screech merely accomplished two things; one, it startled Edward horribly. So much that his hand, which had been holding his head, slipped, and thus, unbalanced, the pala fell over, nose in his book. Two, the nagging voice stopped screaming and mentally arched a brow, it's message? I told you so, I told you you'd lose him. The thought kicked the pala back into the world-of-the-living and he looked up just in time to see Al running away, still cling to the Fluffy.
Mouth agape, the blond pala swiftly stood up, forgetting all about the book that had been safely resting upon his lap and thus (GASP) fell, crashing on the floor in a messy heap of pages which bent in the wrong directions. This did not seem to catch Edward's attention, however, and instead he mentally decided that this Fluffy thing was his enemy. He was jealous. Oh-so-very jealous of for taking his brother away from him, and thus, he half stomped half ran after him, forgetting all about the book. 'The voice' however, had began laughing at him for taking out his anger upon what it had dubbed as an 'innocent creature', forcing Edward to growl as he ran. Obviously, he'd forgotten that his wings were perfectly capable of carrying him, what with his need to catch up to Al overpowering his mind. Some genius.
"WAIT UP!" The words were roared, and he waited no longer to tackle both Fluffy and Al to the ground. The wabbit, in the commotion, gasped, having crashed out of Al's arms, now watching the two pala with saddened eyes; had she really done all this? Was this her fault? Happy Tofu (( [Digs a very deep hole and jumps in.] I'm really not a dramatic person. I don't even know why my posts keep ending up this way. ;____;.;;; )) Sure, he'd heard the 'WAIT UP'... but that didn't stop him from pretending otherwise and ignoring it. Alphonse was torn-- utterly so-- over well, everything. He wanted to say horrible things to his brother, and yet at the same time, more than anything, he just wanted to shake off the all-consuming guilt that clung to him like wet tar... guilt he wouldn't have had if he'd never said anything to begin with. Even still, he couldn't just go crawling back to his brother because... well, because Ed had called him stupid, and and... anything was better than being with that... that... stupid, conceited Pala!
At least at the moment.
In Al's mind, the solution was clear: Run very far away. Then he could have time and peace to sit down and puzzle it all out, before coming back with a premeditated speech that would express his grievances without hurting any feelings, solve every problem under the rainbow, and make things perfect again.
All he needed was time alone to think of what to say!
Which he apparently wasn't going to be gifted, he realized as he felt himself being tackled to the ground. Lost in his own confusion, Al could only remember one thing-- he was stronger. While not a violent Pala by any means, he could beat his brother at any moment, and well--
--well what? He'd already begun to shove and swipe at his brother, long before his brain could catch up with the reasoning behind it. He knew he'd regret this later, he knew he was only adding to the guilt he hated so very, very much... but logic didn't often factor into arguments. If it did, surely there would never be such a thing as conflict.
Forgetting even Fluffy in his blind struggle for freedom enough to continue running, Al fought his brother, and fought hard, not even realizing that somewhere along the line he'd begin to whine and cry, making himself appear more like a pathetic, struggling prisoner than anything else.
Al was clearly not the type to win justice through violence.Dark Fire Angel ((It's your fault for making this into a SOAP OPERA!! Fafnir: oh, like you have nothing to do with it. Absolutely not! D: .... *hides*)) Needless to say Edward was expecting some sort of reaction from his brother however, never once did it occur to him that Al would start flailing and hitting him. It didn't even cross his mind... that is, till it happened. Soon enough, he found himself trying to avoid the other pala's fists and arms, and legs and WINGS and tail too, no less, while still trying to cling to him desperately.
It wasn't working however. Al was stranger than he was; he'd always been stronger, and 'the voice' was by now obviously having a bloody blast with the scene that was slowly unfolding before it. See, I told you so, now he hates you. There was nothing that Edward wanted to do more than metaphorically PUNCH this nagging voice, and yet, he was much too busy trying to avoid his brother's .... wrath. Which much resembled something else, along the lines of pitiful... pathetic attempt at anger. Edward would've claimed as much, had it actually NOT hurt, however, it did, and thus the pala was forced to bite his tongue.
"AL!" no answer came, except the whines and cries, making the situation look almost as if he were trying to torture the other pala, or perhaps something worse, "AL!!" at this point, Ed was no longer trying to avoid the inevitable, but rather, had taken to shaking his brother, "It's alright of you pummel me to death you know! Except that after you've done that I'll make sure to HAUNT your very existence, so STOP IT! I didn't HIT you! Why are hitting ME?!" of course, never once did it occur to him that perhaps, just perhaps Al needed some time alone. That perhaps he was going too far, and that perhaps he should bloody well let GO of his younger brother.
Of course it didn't occur to him, for it was probably known amongst those that had encountered him that though a genius for many things, Edward lacks that little something called 'common sense'. It was unknown for him, it seemed, as easily seen by the fact he still refused to let go of Al's form, "Why are you doing this? WHY are you ignoring me?! WHY would you rather play with IT instead of me?!"
Now, Fluffy was not one to get into a fight willingly, but this was very much ridiculous, and something told her that if she didn't do something fast, these two could keep on going at it for hours still to come. And tell truth, Fluffy had no wish to see them fight for hours to come still, and thus, she took a deep breath and released a howl; a long howl, that very much resembled a wail, piercing the air, and efficiently making Edward let go of Al, his hands instantly going to his ears, pinning them against his head in pain.
"AL! MAKE IT STOP!"
The howling increased in volume a notch, drowning the pala's voice as the wabbit closed it's eyes.Happy Tofu Al was desperate in his desire to instantaneously solve all of these problems, thus making peace with his brother... but in light of the situation, his desperation was coming out as fits of unending violence. He wanted to listen to Ed, really, and to stop, to sit down and talk... but he just couldn't bring himself to do so. The adrenaline in his veins insisted he continue on fighting, and so he did.
It takes Fluffy's howl to effectively wake Al from his... whatever it was forcing him to keep up the struggle... making him stop, immediately, and jump away from his brother. It dawns on him, then, that he probably should coerce Fluffy into silence, so he quickly crawls over to her, gathers her up in his arms, and begins to stroke and coo soothing things to her.
"It's okay, Fluffy... we're very, very sorry we startled and upset you... we won't fight anymore..." Upon this statement, Al looks sharply up at his brother with an eerily stern and unspoken, though clear, 'RIGHT!?'.
Fluffy had given him the chance he'd wanted-- one to solve this nonsense now-- so Imriel help him if he doesn't make use of it. Dark Fire Angel ((Waaaah I want my spell check ;^; miz, forgive the fact I can't spell check it. I'll do that later. I love you.))
Edward had in fact concidered a sardonic reply at this point, when his brother's stern glare (one of very few the other pala had ever given him) stopped him short. In fact, it even a elicited a clear 'erk'-like sound from the usually quite self-centered blond, "Okay! Okay!" what else was he to say anyhow? It wasn't like he could go against that glare, nor could he eternally battle his brother.
After all, Al was his only real friend and companion, per say, for Edward had always been much too rough for the other 'kiddies' to enjoy his company. Whatever. Not like he needed them when he had his books! And his brother! Except right now he didn't technically have his brother, which by the way, was quite a frustrating notion. Life was not good at the moment, that Fluffy thing was still taking up most of Al's attention. What did IT have that HE did not anyhow? He was fluffy too!
Ears flattened back as a harsh expression sketch itself across Edward's features; it was clear he was struggling between keeping his promise of 'behaving' and wanting to throw what Al had dubbed as 'childish trantrum'. Edward had always prefered calling it 'loud persuasion'. Not like it ever worked, but still, it relieved some stress, and right now, Edward was stressed. He wanted The Fluffy gone.
Fluffy meanwhile was torn between snuggling against Al (for afterall, The Yin was scared of her, The Pyry was not allowed to her due to the fact he almost strangled her in the process, and The Edward-monster seemed to be wishing her dismisal) and creeping away ever so silently. Pala were weird; that was the wabbit's conclusion as she frowned up at Al, concerned about her surroundings. Idly, she wished she could point out that perhaps they needed to talk this out. Some geniuses these two were, good god. Happy Tofu "Good."
Setting Fluffy down on the floor, Al marched over to his brother and in one final display of his greater strength, placed both paws on Ed's shoulders and pushed, forcing him down into a sitting position. Al then followed suit, sitting only a few inches away, directly facing his elder.
Outwardly, the next few, awkward moments were spent with Al leering at his brother, as if daring him to say that nasty remark he just knew was waiting on the tip of Ed's tongue. Inwardly, however, Al had decided on what he was going to say, well aware he'd have to be the one to speak first.
Because Edward never, ever apologized. Never in these situations, anyway; he'd have to do something blatantly wrong to apologize, and even then, the apology always came before Edward himself realized he'd said it. This type of situation was extremely rare, though, and had only occurred two or three times over the course of their combined lifetimes.
That aside, he never said sorry. He had ways of showing his guilt, of course, but being proud to a fault, he never used words to do it. At first, Al couldn't accept this, not as just one of those many odd "quirks" of his brother. He'd tried to change him, tried to bully, manipulate, beat, even plead the words out of him -- but eventually, he'd given up. It was just one of odd quirks, and being able to say the words certainly didn't prevent Edward from feeling them.
Hence why he knew, instinctively, that this wouldn't end well unless he submitted first, gave in and voiced the words with enough sincerity to count for the both of them. And so, with lowered eyes and a whisper-quite voice, he did,
"...I'm sorry." Dark Fire Angel ((I just noticed in my previous psot I called you miz, durr hur, old habits die hard)) Still debating whether he should voice his obvious concern or if he should merely turn around and stomp away, Edward was caught unprepared for Al sudden display of strength. Even if he'd been awaiting it, it was doubtful the older pala would've been able to counter it well anyhow, for he'd long since come to accept that it was Alphonse whom could boast (but never did) of having the greater physical strength of the two. He was pushed to a sitting position, albeit awkward, his brother placing himself directly in front, for some reason still unknown to Edward, leering him down. He'd said he'd behave! Why the leer?!
There was only one thing the shorter pala could do, and it was to leerglare back with extreme force. At the same time that Al was almost daring him to talk, Ed was quite similarly daring his brother to open his mouth and voice the wrong words; if he did, he was stomping away. He would not admit defeat to The Fluffy; stomping off was more along the lines of something in order. He was prepared for many things to come out of Al's mouth, and he awaited, fuming silently, arms crossed over his chest, his mouth a grim line of determination...
"...I'm sorry."
And yet, the words that slipped solemnly from his brother surprised him. They in fact surprised him enough to warrant for one of Ed's 'surprised' expression; his brows shoot up, his glare gone as his arms fell listless on his lap. Needless to say, these mere words were not amongst the many things he'd been expecting to hear. 'The voice' doubled in force, if possible, no longer nagging, but rather, by now almost seemingly stabbing his brain with a knife every second that passed; Al's downcast expression was not helping either and soon enough the pala threw his head back, "OKAY! OKAY! I'M SORRY!!" the words were out of his mouth before he could stop himself, and even before he knew what he was doing, however, they did him good, for as soon as they were released, 'The Voice' seemed to nod within his mind before vanishing.
A sigh of relief was released at this point, and Edward, quite glad he'd finally got rid of 'The nagging Voice' actually took the moment to reach forward, embracing his brother silently; the action merely lasted a few moments, but for someone like Ed, it was long enough.
Silently, he stood up, having released his brother, and slowly, his burning gaze landed on The Fluffy, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly. Even despite this, it was clear the message had actually change; 'You're not that bad...', the words though not voiced, echoed slightly before the older pala turned around and walked off towards where he'd left his book, pausing mid way. Without turning his head to look over his shoulder, his voice resounded behind him, "You coming? The Fluffy can come too, if it wants to," it was as much of an apology the Wabbit was getting, though subconsciously, Edward had already forgiven it, finally plopping himself down by his book in order to grab it and resume his reading.
This time hopefully in company.Happy Tofu (( Way to CORNER ME, DA!! Now I can't possibly finish this without some level of sappyness. D::: dhglsa odsg asljss gdsgsg sgsjskdljgklsdj ldjglsd Bloody evil a*****e is what you are. D:< )) If Al's apology surprised Ed, then Ed's nearly put Al in the hospital via heart attack. It was infinitely shocking to hear him say the words at all, let alone the fact that it was practically screamed at him... quite terrifyingly, indeed.
But his brother was a terrifying personality, he knew, and it was just one of those "things" he accepted and had come to love about him. Besides, unceremonious or not, the effect of the apology was clear: a large, bright smile quickly spread across the taller Pala's face, and when his brother leaned forward to hug him, Al was right there, hugging back with all the strength he could muster.
And when his elder brother turned to walk off, Al wasted no time in scooping Fluffy up and giving her a quick, reassuring nuzzle. He then followed, a slight bounce to his step as he rushed to catch up with Edward.
"Okay, but for the record, you offered... so don't think you can start blaming me when she drools on your coat again~~"
Once more, life had returned to normal.(( [Insert shot of the three slowly walking off into the sunset, complete with a cursive "The End" printed in the lower corner of the screen.] ;D ))

:: RP Log :: "Games, Songs & ...Doom"Myla Aflipta wobbles in, trying to lug around a lamp nearly as big as she is. "Opaa," she whimpers with each step until finally putting it down and giving it a good kick. "Fanyikashunishesamaliv--"
She finally stops cursing due to lack of oxygen and sits hard, crossing her arms stubbornly and glaring at her new sibling. Her new sibling that can't walk or talk and is made of metal. She can't seem to wrap her mind around it. At least Artemis slobbers a little every now and then and makes a fine napping cushion. Happy Tofu [image snip] [image snip] Yin had something of an epiphany the other day when she was introduced to one of her new siblings, an odd... well, who knew what it was. An Inky, she vaguely recalled. That alone wasn't strange, of course, as she'd been introduced to many strange and scary things over the months... but rather, the oddness came directly from the fact that the Inky didn't scare her. Quite the contrary, it... attracted her? Moreover, it actually made her want to hug it, a feeling she recognized as being Like Pyry. Thankfully her Like Pyryness ended here, because upon introduction to the other new sibling, the Fluffy, her fear instantly returned.
Though before she'd realized, she'd found herself clinging to the Inky for dear life. For protection from the Fluffy!
An epiphany indeed.
But alas, Yin was always one to accept change (haha), so she let things be and decided to obey nature and bond with the Inky. It was sweet and non-scary and anyway, there was certainly no harm in having extra defense against all the monsters wandering around!
With all of this in mind, Yin strolled down the shop with more confidence than she'd ever felt before, the odd little Blue Ringed Llama clinging happily all the way from her shoulder down to her right elbow. She was so consumed by her confidence, in fact, that she didn't even realize she'd been walking straight toward a monster. An angry, angry monster that was clearly in the process of stomping a poor little lamp.
Not until it was too late, anyway; there was no way she could turn and run now, not without bringing even more attention to herself.
What to do...?Myla Upon hearing the approaching footsteps, Flip quickly tucked in her ever-pouting lip. Her eyes darted to and fro, her tizzy completely forgotten once she spotted the looming purple gummy towering above her. Why, she wouldn’t have to beg for treats for a whole month if she could capture this beauty!
“Myuun,” she murmured, ignoring the faint alarm bell tinging in her mind, telling her that food neither talks nor walks. But then.. but then! She noticed a creature attached to her purple gummy. The creature was obviously sucking out the gummy’s insides with its odd, spotted tentacles. To Flip, this was an obvious challenge. A battle would have to ensue. She must defend the giant Yummy!
She glanced around the ground looking for something, anything. Every part of her seemed to perk upon the sighting of an abandoned sucker stick, her ice-cream-like hair even standing a bit straighter. She hurried to pick it up and weld it like the mighty giant-fighting kun she was.
“Erhi!” she claimed before swiping the ground with a hoofed foot--a bull ready to charge. Happy Tofu Utter, mind-numbing, incomprehensible terror. This is all the purple Pala felt as she was confronted with the, admittedly small, monster, its horrible eyes clearly filled with nothing but menace and hunger. Her wide, shaking gaze slowly lowered to the frightful weapon held in Flip's terrifying hands, and it was at that moment she snapped.
Letting out her trademark wail of, "NOOOOOOOOO~!" she spun on her heels and took off in the opposite direction, running for her very life as she knew it.Inky, for his part, merely clung along for the ride, rather oblivious to what was upsetting Yin so much. He was pretty used to this by now, though, and knew not to worry too much. Such was the daily routine of those who knew Yin. Myla Just as she was about to explode toward the tentacle monster and engage in a spectacular battle, her gummy just up and disappeared into the hypothetical sunset. Normally, Flip would be happy to tick it off as a well-fought battle but, heck, she wanted to at least lick that scrumptious gummy!
It was really too bad she’d never gotten the hang of her uncontrollable wings. She imagined herself flying, flying and landing on the gummy like the regular housefly would. Sighing dreamily, she looked around for something to ride. Speed was her weakness, not that she’d ever admit to it.
Her eyes landed on a squirrel but she shook her head hastily, remembering the last time she tried that. They may look cute, but their tails serve too wonderfully as a sling-shot. She looked around for a sleeping kyunru, a frog, or, rather desperately, a snail. Nothing. Only the immobile, horrid lamp and Artemis. Wait! Her head turned back to Artemis as a mischievous smile spread as easily across her face as a fresh tub of Jiffy across a sandwich. Yes, his crawl was definitely faster than her run! Dark Fire Angel ((oh god, thanks you, I needed some pyry after that CHEESY post with edward XD;;; )) Pyry had of course, been minding his own business, which right now consisted of watching a flower that his owner had put in a pot and given to him. He'd found something remarkable about this flower; it had a caterpillar. Yes, yes indeed! It was a very pretty caterpillar, at that, that Pyry had silently names Wishy, because... well, just because.
Squishy was already taken by the grey rock he'd already named; the one that inhabited his owner's lawn. The one that rarely talked and never moved. It was a good thing no one knew it's name was Squishy however, because they've no doubt ranted at poor Pyry like everyone always did; something about rocks not being squishy. Well it didn't matter! Because HE had a caterpillar. A very prettyful caterpillar which he would've been hugging had DFA not told him that sometimes, hugging things was not the best idea, mostly because he could accidentally harm little squishy things. Like this caterpillar!
All his attention was on Wishy, hence how he missed Yin's approach.... till it was too late; he suddenly found himself on the ground with... a Yin cling to him for dear life and another... thing also clinging to him. A tentacle-y thing, at that. Soon enough his mind made the connection and he remembered DFA introducing him to the Fluffy and the Inky.
Tentacle = Inky, his mind reasoned.
"Huh? Wrong?" his speech had evolved, if only slightly; he was now capable of saying certain words, though full sentences eluded him still. Alas, Fafnir was making progress. Pyry's eyes focused on yin, taking the time to sit up, curling his tail around her as he tried to pinpoint just where the 'monster' following her was this time. Last time it had been a humming bird, this time... he couldn't see anything however. Where was the notsoscary thing?Happy Tofu She hadn't noticed Pyry, either, at least not until she'd slammed into him at full speed. Thankfully she had enough working intelligence behind the blind fear to recognize him as a (rather, one of only two) friend, and upon this realization, opened her arms to CLING to him in what could hardly be seen as anything but a massive hug.
Pyry would be so, so very proud of her.
Wailing at the top of her high-pitched lungs, Yin squealed, "THEMONSTERISCHASINGME! IT'SGONNAEATME! SAVEMEFROMIT,PLEASE!!"
Noting that she was, in fact, clinging to the wrong side of him, she swiftly ninja'ed around to his back, where she promptly began to cower, save for the occasional subtle peering out to see just where her enemy had gone to.
"Nooooo......" Myla Flip was finally on her way, a regular cowkun, she was. Atop of Artemis, she had tied a string around his muzzle and looped it around the back of his head as makeshift reins (Myly would really kill her if she saw Artemis wrapped up in Flip’s “handicraft”).
She had him trained pretty well, really. With a little kick, Artemis would pick up speed and with a little tug here and there, she got him going in the right direction. She lured him forward with the remaining chunk of sucker on her stick weapon, holding it in front of his nose if he seemed a little distracted. Artemis, his sparkling eyes wide and innocent, would do anything to make his goofy sister happy. The whole string tied around his muzzle wasn’t exactly the most comfortable thing, but he saw no reason to bat it off and erupt the volcano also known as Flip. So he crawled forward silently, his fluffy ears perked forward and his many tails wagging behind him. Even young, he was a reasoning creature. Spotting a blue Pala, a familiar one, she urged Artemis forward. That gummy had to be around here somewhere! She brought her fluffy mount to a stop with a tug and a sharp “Sabat!”
She looked to the Pala, whom she’d met once before, with a question in her eyes and her mighty weapon pointed to the sky. “Seen Myuun?” she squeaked in her tiny Kun voice. Maybe she could create an army to defeat the evil tentacle monster that stole away the gummy. Dark Fire Angel Still no sign of the monster, and even as Yin clung to him, shifted and hid herself behind him with Inky, Pyry could not figure out what had her so worked up. In scale of the yin-fright-o-meter, Pyry was actually surprised to note that whatever it was that had her so worked up... was right around the 9.5 out of 10.
It wasn't till Flip's voice interrupted his thoughts that he looked up. Waaaaay up till he saw the Kun, perched atop the young mana spirit; what was she doing there anyhow? Now, of course, Pyry had the habit of ridding Fafnir, but ridding a baby? The idea made him blink several times before his hazy find suddenly made a connection between Yin's previous screams of 'It'sgonnaEATme!!' and Flip's question.
Oooooookay.
"Nope!" he put up his best I-didn't-do-it smile, which was lame all the same, and attempted at the same time to hide Yin's form even better behind him, for after all, it wouldn't be good if someone ate Yin. What would he do if there was no Yin to play with? Wishy and Squishy were not nearly as fun! Downfall was that... well, Pyry was not only not the best liar in the world, but you see, he was simply quite unable to hide things well, and the fact he was er... hiding something showed in his eyes, in his pose, even in the way he'd said 'nope'. Myla Flip slid down Artemis, hitting the ground with an “oomph!” She hummed and hawed. If not over here, where could have that gummy ran to? She sat at Pyry’s feet and sniffed pathetically, a fat tear rolling down her face. After all that work, her prize was gone. She chewed at the left over sucker on her weapon. Candy always made her feel a little better. The little kun was oblivious to any lie or deception—her mind didn’t work in that way. To her, the world was concrete. Artemis, once again ignored by his sister, shook off his reins and wandered behind the blue Pala to Yin. She was so obviously afraid and his heart went out to her. He nuzzled her hand and hummed in that low voice of his, trying to be a comfort. What was there to be afraid of? The sun was shining as the leaves turned to marvelous shades of orange. There was nothing to be afraid of and he tried to convey that to her through his young and baby-like actions. After sniffing for a bit longer, an idea flew into her mind. Maybe Pyry would help! Flip pulled on Pyry’s leg with a happy chirp. Oh, how she loved brilliant ideas! More creatures looking meant that she’d be a lot less tired in the end. “Dama helps!” she looked at him earnestly and marched off, hoping he would follow. She started looking under rocks and dirt clods, yelling for the purple gummy and then listening hard for a response. “Yentaza!” She grinned widely at Pyry. Happy Tofu Yin's world was without logic.
It was always difficult to tell just what she'd find terrifying, as opposed to what would only scare her a relatively small bit. Inky was proof enough of that; if anything, he was more of a "monster" than any Pala or Mana Spirit or Kyunru, and yet she was completely at ease with him. Certainly Inky was small, but... so was Aflipta, and yet the KunKun evoked more fear in Yin than anything else to date.
Likewise, Artemis was nothing short of gigantic, and true, he was quite frightening, but he still didn't quite match up to the level of terror Flip held. This information helped to leave Yin's head clear of all but a few thoughts:
She was doomed, no matter what happened. Pyry was going to die, and she was going to die. However, being chomped to death in one, swift motion was highly preferably to being slowly devoured by the monstrosity that was Flip.
Besides, while she held a chance of outrunning Flip, even if only to postpone her doom, she knew she had no chance escaping this monster. Trying to do so would likely just anger it.
With all of this considered, Yin made up her mind. She closed her tearful eyes quickly, her mouth tight and grim, her expression solemn. She placed both arms to her side in submission and whimpered up to the Mana Spirit, "Okay, Mr. Monster, you can eat me. But... could you please do it really, really fast, as my final wish?" Myla Artemis was as tuned in to the world as Flip was tuned out.
He could feel fear radiating from Yin just as he felt the moon even in the light of day. He blinked slowly at her; there was always a tired air about him. He preferred to sleep the day through and stare at the moon, the binding of his soul, throughout the night. Only his sister could rouse him in the middle of the day.
Touching his chilly nose to Yin’s hand once more, his ears swiveled slowly toward the ground as he crawled back to give her space. She seemed so rigid, not at all like the waves in the pond or the breeze through the night. He continued his deep hum, the only sound he could make at such a young age.
And there he sat, motionless except for the occasional twitch of one of his tails. He watched Yin intently, just as he would watch his wonderful golden orb. He liked to study the odd creatures of this world, not realizing that his unblinking stare could be taken as something a bit creepy. When she spoke, he concentrated hard on her words. Language was still a bit fuzzy. He picked up on the meaning of a few of her words, but couldn’t quite get an overall meaning. He gave her an inquisitive look, tilting his head to the side. Perhaps she was hungry, and afraid she was going to starve? Happy Tofu Yin remained stock-still, eyes closed and arms to her side for a long, long while. It was only when Artemis touched his nose to her hand that she moved, a jerky, frantic moment paired with a heart-wrenching wince and whimper. When she wasn't immediately eaten, though, and when she didn't feel any pain, she resumed her silent unmovingness.
More time passed, and finally she worked up the courage to lift one eyelid just the tiniest bit, assuming she'd find herself in the monster's stomach or something. When she instead saw the familiar store surroundings -- meaning, of course, nothing had happened -- her other eye followed suit, until both were wide open.
She looked up at Artemis, blatant confusion coming off her in waves. Why wasn't he eating her? Why was he... singing, instead? Why did he look confused?
This monster was like nothing she'd seen before.
Using her hands to gesture, she tried to sign the meaning of her initial words. She was still certain that, as a monster, he wanted to eat her... and well, she really did like to know in advance when she was going to die. Myla Watching Yin’s hands wave in some intricate sort of dance, his interests were further perked. Language through movement? Or perhaps it was a sort of cultural swaying. Although Artemis lacked a voice, he picked up his hands flicked them through the air, trying to make the movements as beautiful as hers. He did not have experience and lacked a great control over his limbs, but he more or less managed it.
He mostly liked the random flowing of her hands because it made her seem more at ease, less stiff. Hoping that his movements weren’t in any way offensive, he scooted toward her an almost unnoticeable amount and stretched one arm toward her to wrap a furry hand around her own.
Perhaps it was less words and more the actions that mattered most in this world. He didn’t have his own voice yet, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t feel his way into the world. His eyes shone as he looked up to Yin, a smile replacing his formerly blank features. Maybe this is what the world is all about. He would learn in time.

:: RP Log :: "An Imperfect Date"Happy Tofu [image snip] Al was intrigued.
Rather, he had moved past intrigued and onto pure, consummated fascination. Al'd thought he'd seen it all with the discoveries of kittens and the Periodic Table, but apparently, he was wrong.
There was still more out there.
This thought dominated Alphonse's head as he sat on the carpeted floor of his home's living room, wide eyes glued to the television like... well, like Ed to an alchemy book. The images flashing before him compelled, tantalized and captivated him until finally, the world was boiled down to just himself and the movie, a cheesy chick-flick entitled, "Un dia con mi Amado."
And finally, an hour and twenty-four minutes later, Al found himself staring dumbly at seemingly-endless credits scrolling to a soft piano tune. His emotions rollercoastered, then, from depressed acceptance of the movie's end... to jealous envy felt toward the couple whose story he'd just engrossed himself in... and finally, to determination.
Why couldn't he have what they had? It's not as though he was without access to fancy restaurants, popular picnic spots and romantic locations ripe for stargazing...! He even knew the perfect Pala for sharing such wondrous moments with!
"...Hey, NII-SAN~!!!"
It was only after this call that Al lifted himself from the carpet and raced into the next room where he just knew he'd find Edward, book and all. He wasn't about to waste time beating around the point, either-- the excitement was clearly written on his face, he knew, and anyway, that took too much time. This was too grand for patience!
"Take me out on a date!"Dark Fire Angel Edward was way too busy for Television; specially way too busy to watch that horribly ... sappy junk Al seemed to like so much. In fact, had Edward not been busy, he'd have made himself at least appear like he was busy, if only to escape having to sit through one of those horrible shows. Thankfully for him however, when Al had invited him to watch that stupid show (something about a date only in Spanish? ... whatever), Edward hadn't had to fake himself being busy; he had been sitting, much like now, on the floor, with a large encyclopedia resting partially on his leg and partially on the floor. Surrounding him were countless papers, stacks of them littering the ground here and there and, faithful companions to countless other books that remain nearby the inquisitive Pala.
Resting, mostly asleep upon Edward's lap, lay The Fluffy, which whom Edward had come to a 'truce' with; in fact, the pala had found that having the Wabbit around wasn't nearly all that bad. She was usually calm and content with laying on his lap and now that winter was fast approaching, Edward had gained a living 'heater', for the Wabbit's effect on his lap was almost like that of a fuzzy blanket.
It wasn't till Al's cry for his 'Nii-san' that both Fluffy and Edward perked an ear, simultaneously. Both knew that cry meant the younger pala wanted to share something with them; last time it had been about baking cookies, and somehow the plan hadn't gone all too well, for though Al had dragged Ed to the kitchen and had somehow won the 'battle', thus resulting in Ed joining him to bake them... the dough had ended everywhere and the product were... something other than 'cookies'; they were some sort of mutant dough monsters. Ever since, Edward had referred to it as the 'Dough incident'. The cry... very much resembled the one one Al had given out before 'the Dough incident'. As Al rushed in and flopped down, Edward noticed the expression upon his brother's face was ALSO the same he'd had before 'The Dough Incident'.
Instantly Edward winced.
The younger pala's words however, brought him out of his 'Oh-no-doom-awaits-me' state, and he arched a brow, looking rather confused, "What?" did 'dates' have anything to do with cookies? As much of a genius as he was, he was quite tempted to ask such a question, however, as inexperienced as he was on the whole 'date' thing, he knew such a question would upset Al. Last thing he wanted to do, was that, thus the pala did the only thing he could do;
He grimaced slightly, hiding the expression from his brother's sight before looking straight at him, "Uhm.... alright?" Fluffy, still on Edward's lap, was already sniffing trouble nearby; she idly decided she'd come along too, if only but to keep both pala out of trouble. Happy Tofu Clapping his hands together excitedly, the younger Pala lunged forward and, with only borderline gentleness, grabbed Ed's arm, tugging him up off the floor and toward the door with as much hast as possible.
"Don't worry, this'll be sooo much fun! You'll enjoy it, I promise; baking wasn't your thing, but this will be! We'll even go to the restaurant first, because I know you love food~~" A pause, and a quick glance down at Fluffy (whom was already following along anyway), "You're invited too, of course!"
The three were out the door and heading off at top-speed even as Alphonse mentally puzzled together a to-do list for the excursion. He knew he wanted to go to a restaurant and have a picnic, but that required something placed in between, yet he was at a loss of what. Furthermore, he knew he couldn't ask Ed without getting a reply of "library!" which... well, not that he'd ever admit it, but... he did think there were better places out there for two Palas to visit.
Frowning slightly, Al found himself so engrossed in his own thoughts that by the time he'd reached a solution -- they could take a walk in the park! -- the three had already arrived in Durem. He knew from "Un dia con mi Amado" that it was important to let the real male other Pala make all of the important decisions, and following this turned to his brother to ask, "Ne, Nii-san, where should we have lunch?"
As much as Al could hint and coerce, the simple fact remained that the very success (or failure) of this day was going to ride purely on Edward.
In other words, Al had nothing to worry about! Dark Fire Angel Of course, Edward had already predicted what would happen and had taken the precaution of settling his book neatly on the floor; and not all too hastily either, for no soon had he done this that his brother clapped his hands and lunged forward, dragging him off the floor. Fluffy whom had also predicted this, had settled herself on the older pala's shoulder, hanging on as she stared curiously, following the scene that displayed itself in front of her; this, she had decided long ago, was much better than television. And much more entertaining.
Half dragged, half walking along, Edward followed his younger brother, mentally sighing and kicking himself for agreeing to this in the first place; he'd left his studies all over the floor. The humans would not be pleased... and oh god! What if they touched his studies?! Growing paler by the minute, and completely oblivious of what seemed to be haunting Alphonse at the moment, the older pala half pondered turning back and telling his brother he in fact, had a stomach ache.
Last time he'd used that excuse however, Alphonse had settled him into a bed and had refused to allow him to get up in two days. So thus, Edward swiftly discarded it; by the time he'd come up with a better excuse, (Something about his human owner calling him), they'd already reached Durem, and thus, said excuse was probably no longer valid; idly he came to the conclusion that perhaps he should merely enjoy himself and worry about the human's tantrum when they got back home.
"Ne, Nii-san, where should we have lunch?"
The words woke him up from his pondering, and golden eyes focused on Al before his stomach decided to let it be known that it was in fact craving food. Any food. WHATEVER food. Now, "Uuuuuhhh..." swiftly, Edward scanned the location, opting for the nearest restaurant, which happened to be a meat grill, "That one," he said as he pointed a finger at the place. He had a good reason for picking it; it was the nearest one. And Edward was sure even a toddler knew that the smallest distance between him and food was a straight line. However, the fact Al seemed so intent on this date thing was enough for the older pala to look over his shoulder at his younger brother, searching for confirmation; it was brief however, for he awaited no response, and finally looking enthusiastic, the pala grabbed his brother's hand this time and ran towards the restaurant, fluffy clinging onto him fearlessly.
Then came the first problem; Fluffy was not allowed in. The waiter scowled at both palas, shaking his head seriously as he pointed at the fluff ball that hung from Edward's shoulder, causing the older pala to scowl, fist tightening at his sides as eyes narrowed; it was clear that if Al didn't do something, the Date was going to end before it even begun. Happy Tofu Al inflated indignantly, cheeks puffed and eyes angry, at the sheer audacity of the host to dare even imply Fluffy wasn't civilized enough for a restaurant! Well fine, if there was one important lesson he'd picked up from his brother, it was that stupid rules were made to be broken!
"Oh, okay... sorry about that, sir, I'll go take her outside." Lifting Fluffy from her comfortable perch on Edward, Alphonse shuffled outside, loitered for a minute or so to make it look legitimate, and then returned with empty hands. The waiter couldn't see that Fluffy was clinging to his leg from behind the cover of his long coat, which was precisely the idea.
The two were sat without too much trouble, although they did wind up with a rather lousy seat, back in a far corner near the loud, smoky bar-end of the Grille. Not only that, but a poorly placed palm tree decoration hung right over Al's head, making it so if he moved too much in any one direction, his hair would get caught on the plastic leaves. Occasionally a leaf would fall in front of his face, too, obscuring his vision, but he simply pushed it away... though it always eventually fell right back.
By this point Al's enthusiasm was draining, but only ever-so-slightly; his determination to make the rest of this day perfect remained, and whenever he felt the vague feeling of oncoming tears or a melancholy thought, he simply thought back to his show and allowed those picture-perfect visions to chase the sadness away. Dark Fire Angel Had Al not taken action almost as immediately as he had, it's probably Edward would've taken matters into his own hands. Judging by the deep scowling and the fact his fists were practically tightening so hard that were he to have claws he'd be bleeding... needless to say the outcome would've been quite horrible.
Thus so, when Al took Fluffy away from him, Edward blinked, half confused, half surprised before returning to his glare session till his brother returned; he too was fooled by the act, never knowing that the Wabbit was in fact safely tucked under Al's coat. The idea his 'pet' (even if the blond pala would never admit to it being his pet), was taken away from him, had instantly put him into a bad mood.
He'd always been a dog person. And Fluffy was a 'dog' of sorts. She'd grown on him.
The idea of the Wabbit being placed outside all alone waiting for them to finish their dinner was off-putting and forced the pala to grumble and murmur under his breath as he was led to their table. The location wasn't putting Edward in a better mood; he idly thought that had HE been a waiter, he could've done it ten times better, alas, the fact remain he was doing this for his brother and thus refrained from performing one of his so called 'scenes'. Instead he did something else he was quite good at; he sat and glowered at anyone that dare pass by, not to mention at the horribly LOUD customers that surrounded them here and there.
The time to order food came, and though Ed merely glanced at the menu before order some ribs, the Pala was still too out of it to care; He wondered what Fluffy was eating, without knowing the Wabbit was still clinging to Al's leg, having quite the horrible time too, for you see, the scent of the meat around her was reaching her overly sensitive nose and though she wiggled it and finally placed a paw over it, there was little she could do to hide the smell. She ended up whining.
The sound was heard by the waiter as he brought their foods, and though he frowned, he did little more than leave soon after; it was by this point that Edwad discovered his meat was raw. Very raw. And he did not like this one bit. Disappointed by the food, he did something Al had rarely see him do; push the plate away, looking off slightly. It was then that fluffy decided that if Edward did NOT want that food, she'd gladly take it and thus swiftly jumped up on Al's lap and from there to the table, yipping loudly as she sunk her head into the meat.
That was when a few customers stood and screamed something about a Rat, or Dog, or wolf EATTING everything up, and the chaos ensued. Happy Tofu Considering all the effort Al had been putting into keeping himself from just simply bursting out into tears all along, it was reasonable that Ed's horrible, constant scowling could have easily pushed him over that proverbial edge. Not only was the scowling disheartening on the grounds that it meant Edward was miserable (the whole point was for them both to have a good time, after all, and anyway, Alphonse would rather drown a kitten and knowingly, voluntarily force misery upon his brother!), but on the grounds that it meant Edward didn't trust that Alphonse would safely and defiantly care for Fluffy, as opposed to just dumping her outside, alone and sad.
...Though, in Hindsight, that may have just been the less cruel option. As things were, the waiter, eager to protect his paying customers (and business) from the "wild animal" threating them, dashed over and grabbed Fluffy with no trace of gentleness, ran over to the door, and threw the poor animal right outside. Alphonse had already jumped out of his chair and begun to chase after the man, but no Pala can run quite that fast; he had to settle for simply sinking down onto the pavement where his little pet landed, scooping her up into his lap, and doing everything in his limited abilities to apologize to and sooth her.
Al also made a very special effort to keep eyes trained on Fluffy, because there was little in the world Alphonse wouldn't take over having to face Edward's inevitable anger when he finally did catch up to them. Dark Fire Angel At first, as Fluffy simply ate away all the meat, Edward's scowl vanished, replaced by surprise; not only was he shocked to see his pet there, but he was socked at all the commotion she was causing. It was only a Fluffy, for god's sake! Had these people never seen one (needless to say that he never made note to recall he himself had never seen one before he'd been introduced to this particular one, alas)?
He had no time to dwell, for things happened fast; first, the waiter rushed up and took Fluffy away, then Alphonse got up and rushed after them both; needless to say that since Edward had found the food to be completely unsatisfactory anyhow, and seeing as how both his brother and pet were leaving, there was nothing for the older pala to do. So thus he rushed jumped from his chair and rushed after both Wabbit and other pala if only just to check that they were both okay and unhurt.
Upon finally stumbling out the door, somewhat 'helped' by the waiter, whom pushed him out, Edward found his brother hugging and clinging to the Fluffy so tightly he was afraid they'd actually been hurt in the commotion! Settling beside them both, he frowned in concern, "They didn't hurt you, did they?" waiting for no response, he set about to lifting his brother's arm's, looking for broken bones; Al feeling so sad and down obviously could NOT have anything to do with him after all!! He'd done everything he could to remain civilised and hadn't even YELLED any yet! So it certainly couldn't be his fault!
Fluffy had been slightly sore she'd been thrown out so harshly, but she'd not even whimpered once before she'd been comforted so lovingly, and thus... she merely remain clinging to the pala. Somehow, she felt Al needed the comforting more than she did.
Somehow, Edward, in all his lack of common sense, seemed to note this too and racked his mind for a solution, "Maybe... we can just go to the park and buy some food from one of the carts there? An ice cream?" anything to make his brother stop looking like he was about to fall into tears; it'd solve the problem of the Fluffy not being allowed into a restaurant, after all!

:: RP Log :: "Of Word & Deed"Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The peacock kyunru looked almost normal again. That is to say, her coat was groomed, her hair combed, her tails not encased in dirt as they had been on her last visit to the shop. Trelweny had severely chastised her, saying sadness was no reason to neglect herself and that when she had more cause to be happy Keyna would be pleased that she was presentable. It was hard to ignore her bond's advice, for the widowed human spoke from her own experience. Trelweny was always clean, her hair daily braided -and Keyna knew more than most in their family the human's deep sadness through the mental link they shared.
So her appearance was lovely as ever... but her expressive brown eyes were sad & her tails drooped as if it was an effort merely to keep them from dragging on the ground. Finding a random book she curled into a ball where a sunbeam warmed the ground from a window & attempted to read. Dark Fire Angel [Img snip] Life was full of choices, and it just so happened that that day Fafnir had chosen to take a quiet, pleasant stroll down the road instead of burying himself head first into a book. Yes, the feat was quite impressive in his mind; him choosing the outside over a book, but Christmas only came around once a year, and specially due to his disposition and perhaps partly due to his heritage, the dragon found he was slightly religious. Enough to care what time of year it was and smile, if ever so slightly anyhow.
Despite how much he usually grumped and fought back whenever his owner forced him to get some of this 'proverbial air' as she called it, Fafnir found he rather much enjoyed being outside. Specially while it was cold, for some odd reason. He'd known Pyry felt attracted to the cold too, something about him having perhaps something of an affinity with 'ice dragons' as his markings showed and his tail voiced out, however, Fafnir was no ice dragon, at least that he was aware of.
As he padded on, blue hued eyes stopped on a particular building, his brow furrowing as he looked around; he'd somehow, unawares, come to stop himself right in front of Elderspark. Again. What was it with this place? it was like... it had some sort of allure to it; it called to him, even when he wasn't paying attention to where he was going! Truth be told, the dragon kyun had merely been walking quite aimlessly, and thus finding himself upon such familiar terrain, had suddenly startled him.
He didn't question further; being a creature that strongly believed in fate, he merely allowed his features to slip into their normal indifference before padding towards the shop, nosing the door open with his maw. Slowly padding in, he closed the door awkwardly, pushing it with one of his hind feet, taking care his claws would not harm the wooden structure. His eyes soon enough lay upon the sole figure that lay beneath the ray of sunlight a window offered; though her gaze was upon a book, her frame, her body language told the dragon that she wasn't doing so much reading as she was mourning.
The sight bothered him, for reasons unknown, and slowly, the dragon made his way towards Keyna, his features bearing concern before he allowed himself to lay down beside her, curling his tail slightly around her body, "What's wrong?" it was a direct question, for Fafnir was never known for beating around the bush, however, no matter how blunt the question had been, his features showed he was worried; the fact he had allowed himself to lay so near her, almost as if pondering that perhaps she needed a hint of affection, even if it was his own, showing through, "No one would ever look this sad just from reading a story... no matter how terribly saddening the plot maybe..."
