MCRlvr98 Lol dose it say thank you for the venom on the fornt and have a spider and a web on the front. No, it's got a bloody heart and a gun on the front and on the back it says "Fire at Will".

i am muslim/islamic.umm well MCR is not what you call religious arabic music but w/e.i dont care for arabic music because i dunno what they're saying & i cant relate.MCR is not exactly the music im "expected"to like because i am a (like my grandma says) "a young arabic girl___you have to behave & be more religious & learn arabic.....etc" MUSIC IS NOT ABOUT RELIGION, ITS ABOUT CONNECTING TO YOUR LIFE & ENJOYMENT.well it is to me....

Exactly!
There is such a difference between the two that I get sick of it when people think they have to listen to certain music 'cuz of their religion! They have no idea what they're missing out on!

i for one... am not sure wat i am... i go to ur chruch ghostmelody... but im not relly a big member... i guess technically im christian, but im not that into it. i think the bible is interesting tho, havnt read it all, but i wanna kno more about da angels and stuff... lik the devil used to be an angel or somthin??? idk, i just heard that somwhere. ^_^

I'm a devoted Christian, but I love rock, punk and heavy metal. As long as the group doesn't come right out and down my religion, I don't care. It's everybody's own choice what they believe in.
And yes, the Devil, Lucifer, was at one time a very high-ranking angel. He was the most divine and beautiful, but he rebeled against God, and, in doing so, was banished to hell where he lost every trace of beauty he once had(sorry, it's off-topic, but I wanted to answer the question!)

Oh, I could rant for HOURS about biblical lore. The angels, what they stood for, how Lucifer was the Prince of Lights, Cherubim, Seraphim, Thones, blah, blah--I'm obsessed with it, but I don't really worship. I sleep to late for church... sweatdrop plus, Sundays depress me becuase NOTHING HAPPENS. I suppose it does not do to be depressed on Sundays.

I'm a Wiccan. I'm un-initiated because my parents don't like the religion (they are both raised as Christians). I don't like the idea of music-genres being stuck to certain religions. Music is about expressing yourself. It dosn't matter what your religion is you can listen to what ever you want to listen to.

I have this cousin who's Christian. And when I say Christian, I mean pious-preachy-Christian.
She LOVES MCR, but sometimes she says how she feels "guilty" because they are "satanic."
......
and not "satanic" as in "worshiping the devil" but as a synonym for "evil" or "unholy".
But she still listens to them because she understands that MCR is a good band that is anti-suicide. It's the dark image they portray, i guess, that leaves her feeling guilty.
My opinion: I'm a lethargic Catholic. I haven't been to church in over a year, but that doesn't mean I don't believe in God. But here's my opinion: If your God keeps you from listening to certain kinds of music, then what kind of a God is that? it's not like you're gonna run around and sin all over the place, you're just gonna headbang in your room with the volume turned up.
I don't know about you, but I kinda want to believe in a God that values freedom of speech.

Wow. This is a really interesting topic.
I've kind of decided for myself that I don't know what the hell anything to do with god means... so I just don't think about it and I don't care.
But I totally agree;
What kind of a god would think of you as 'unholy' and ban you or whatever because of the music you listen to?

ghostmelody It has come to my attention that the TOMCRG community is, how should I put this, not exactly a popular Christian hangout. Now don't take that the wrong way; I don't have any problem with people who aren't religious. But I was just curious as to how many My Chemical Romance fans are also devote Christians (or even Jewish or Islamic) like me.
Now, I know the poll is kind of personal, which is why I'm not demanding you vote on it. But I would honestly like to know what the breakdown of MCR fans believe in. I don't know why, but if for some reason I get in trouble for posting this, I can honestly say I have no idea why. I don't believe there is any problem with discussing religion outside of church. I actually believe it should be more common. Religion shouldn't have to be a touchy subject.
P.S: I'm truly sorry about the option of 'other'. In all honesty, I would love to be able to list every religion on Earth, but I know I would fail if I tried. Please don't take it as an offense if your religion is not one of the named categories. Some offense taken! nvm jk, lol, but still look at that the most percentge of fans are christian!!

I love Thank You For the Venom because hardcore christians piss me off.
It 's like, if you're really into being christian, then good for you. But I don't wanna hear about how you're better than me because you believe in Jebus.

Wow! This is great! Im a true Christian and I enjoy MCR with all my heart! I thought I was like one of the few. But I see that a lot of you Chrstian MCR fans think the same as I do. I'm feeling pretty good about now. LOL. Though my mom think's Gerard is one wierdo. I laugh. Mom's... rolleyes

ferris_wheel_ablaze Ha, I'm presbyterian ((a cool form of christianity)) and I keep my music tastes away from my religion. I wore an MCR shirt to church once and this one woman nearly had a heart attack. sweatdrop Oddly enough, it had lyrics from "Thank you for the venom" on the back. Smooth.
