Meetings - 06/10/05

After leaving Hatters home for a while to wander around in the forest around the Center I ended up wandering into a brightly colored, overlyhappy creature. His name was.....Ara...Aara....A something, i dont really remember. Either way it is irrelevent unless i run into the thing again.

He seemed to like playing games, though he failed to win in a simple game of mimic. It seems that forien languages are beyond his abality to mimic. It wasent even a hard language.

I believe i should go to the Center more, there might be creatures there who could entertain me more than these books

Gathering of Others - date unknown

Aara seems to have himself attached to one of Hatter's friends. A woman named Skye. This Skye Creature has children that Hatter seems to have something to do with, i do not understand it but it makes Hatter happy so i will not Question.

Aara follows her around so when she comes he usually comes too. I believe he still hates me but at least he hasent called me anything nasty.

He left with Skye to go somwhere and Hatter said i would be comming with her to look after the children, something about babies liking puppies.

nasty spawn....why do i have to help?

Why do i Bother? - 11/13/05

Aara seems to have vanished, or something. Skye comes over more now, last time she and Hatter made alot of noise it woke me up and they better not do it again while i am sleeping or someone is getting teeth in their a**. There is also this other woman living with us for now, she dosent like me. Says i am 'creepy' so i cant sleep under the kitchen table when she is there.

I think Aara must hate me. And i dont know why i care? Maybe cause he was the only one who talked to me, but he is too happy, and loud, and scared. Must be that he hates me. Hatter said he dosent hate me, but he hasent been around or come with Skye like he used to, so i think she is lieing and he hates me.

I dont care, really. Promise.

"I dont even think i want to know what you think you were doing." Hatter hissed as it sat down beside Kuro and picked up his bleeding ear. "I told you to not go out in public when you were pissy"

Kuro would have hung his head had the demon not had ahold of his ear. He respected the demon and felt horrible getting scolded by it. He knew he should have stayed inside but he didnt want to. He had wanted to go outside and rant to the air, but no, his luck ment he had to run into the happy blue ball of sunshine...which had sharp teeth. In the back of his mind he hoped that Aara hurt as much as he did.

Yelping he stared at Hatter. "That. Hurts."

"No s**t." The demon glared right back at him as it patted a cloth drenched in peroxide on his ear. "Its supose to, its how you know it is working."

The demon spent a few minuets cleaning the wound before it wrapped a clean bandage around the jivvin's ear. "Now, as long as you dont pull at it the bandage should stay. I will have to change it every few days until the wound heals."

Kuro grumbled at that idea. He knew that pulling the bandage off would end up pulling bits of him off too. Even if that was supose to make it heal better it was going to hurt more that he wanted to hurt.

"Hand over the paw, your getting blood all over the floor." Hatter held out a hand for Kuro's paw.

Reluctant to give over his foot Kuro stared at Hatter for a bit before holding out the paw as he saw the demon going for the book, probably to hit him with. Resting his head on his other leg he watched as Hatter cleaned that would and wrapped it lightly.

"No going outside without me. I dont want that comming off and you ending up with a nasty infection, your hearts bad enough and i dont want you getting sick." Hatter rested its hand on his head.

"Now you want to tell me what posessed you to get into a fight with Aara?"

"No..."

"Are you going to anyway?"

"....yes...." He sighed and crawled over until his head was in the demon's lap. "He called me names."

Hatter raised a brow and looked down at Kuro. "So? I call you things all the time."

"It hurt..."

"Cause you like him."

"Maybe...."

Out of the Woods - 1/13/06

The demon was suprised to see me home, i do not blame her. I dont think i would have returned had Scion and ....what is that things...Ze...Zelda? yes her, had they not warned me away from the woods. There is something going on and i have no desire to get in the middle of it.

They have told me i do not know who, or what i really am. This i do not understand fully. I am a jivvin, i am Kuro.. but they say somethign is missing. It must be something with why, with why we all look different. Why some have wings and others ... well there is something there i a missing. They spoke of a village, but i believe this village is part of this problem going on. If they can help me learn what i do not know then i shall wait until whatever is going on happens.

From what i have learned from Hatter Aaralyn has not returned. I believe it was mentioned in passing that he liked it at the home of the dragon woman so he has probably gone there. I do not believe he will speak to me again. Not after, not after what happened. Though now i have a permenate reminder in the missing chunk of my flesh.

There is another of my kind running around the house now. She has proved to be a annoyance and if she tries to eat my tail ONE more time i will bite her nose off. Her name is Jhadia and Hatter has said she belongs to the twins. She sleeps under their crib, so she must have taken to them. I do not like her, this is why i have taken up staying in teh gardens. Hatter will not let her out there because she wants to eat the flowers.

Hatter wants me to teach her to read....i saw the demon can choak on its own tail

__//Does forgiveness ever happen?

He followed the trail of Kuro and Jhadia through the woods. Normally, tracking Kuro would have been a task, but since he was carrying a wriggling Jivvin who, in turn, was carrying an egg? It was easier... There were signs everywhere, not to mention the scent. He knew Kuro's scent well, even if the times were few and far between when he caught whiff of it.

He paused for a moment, quickly shaking his head to clear his mind. He needn't be spending this time thinking about Kuro. He needed to get his egg back from Jhadia before she did something horrible like break it... Or, gods forbid, it hatched while she was carrying it and thought of her as a parent.

He was rather pissed that he had to carry Jhadia back home since she seemed determined to do everything that he didn't want her to do. Was his luck really that bad? Growling as she put up a particularly vicious struggle he tightened his grip and she stilled.

He knew now she was carrying something, and it was probably Aara's egg, but he wasnt going to put her down to look for fear that, given the chance, she would somehow break it just to spite him.

"You know if you hadn't picked me up I would have been fine and could have figured out what this is." She huffed as she dangled from her brother's jaw. "But nooooo you just HAD to go and get in the middle of stuff and ruin my fun."

His ears flickered towards the sound of voices or, rather, one voice. Jhadia's. She was such a little loudmouth and, as he'd told her, as long as she continued to cling tightly to her ways, she would never successfully sneak up on anyone... Or away from anyone.

He picked his way carefully through bramble and bush, keeping his tail close to his body as he moved. If he tripped over it now he'd give himself away and, if anything, he knew that Kuro was cautious. Should he hear something he might drop Jhadia to defend her... No, not to defend her... To feed her to whatever might be lurking behind.

'If ou ont ut up..." He couldn't really talk with her in his mouth, but he didn't want to drop her. One, it would probably break the egg, and Aara already hated him enough, and, two, she could get away from him if he let her go.

"You shouldn't talk with your mouth full, you know." She giggled. Not that she thought he would let her go, but people told Lyra that enough that she figured she could say it to Kuro.

Gods I hate you Why couldn't somethinng hungry show up so he could offer her as a sacrafice?

He looked up from the trail he followed, scenting the air for a moment. They were getting closer to the demon's house. Along with the distinct scents given off by both Kuro and Jhadia, he could smell the strange plants... The plants so different than the ones blooming in the dragon's back yard.

He picked up his pace, hoping to catch up with the two ahead of them before the reached the demon's or, better yet, just as they reached the demon's. Then he could take his egg back and go home before any more damage was done.

Kuro knew he was almost home. He could smell the plants and hear a few of the strange things that had taken residence there. Picking up his pace he tightened his grip on Jhadia and headed for home. He could toss her somewhere and give the egg to Hatter so the demon could take it back to Skye and Aara.

"Yea, I so don't need my spine." She griped as Kuro's teeth sank further into her. She was joking. He wasn't really hurting her, though it was uncomfortable. She simply felt like griping because that meant she could piss him off more.

As he drew closer to Kuro and Jhadia he allowed himself to slip out of his silence, causing a few leaves to rustle here and a small twig to snap here. It was out of respect for the crimson Jivvin that he did this, wanting to give him a small alert now that they had entered his territory... If he picked up on it, that is.

His torn ear twitched back as he heard a branch snap behind him. Stopping he turned, Jhadia still in his mouth, and looked at the forest behind him.

"Look, intruders... Put me down and go be macho."

He snarled around her neck. He wasn't going to put her down unless it was something that would eat her and save him the trouble.

He could see Kuro clearly from where he was and, as he flickered his tail slightly, he hoped that Kuro would see him as well... And that Jhadia would miss him due to the way she was dangling, her head down against his egg. For some reason, he wanted Kuro to know that he was there...

He could see Aara clearly. Something that blue didn't blend into forest well. He would have said something but, as it was, his mouth was occupied. Meeting the others eyes so he would know he saw him, he turned back toward the house. There was no way he was dropping Jhadia out here.

"Why'd we stop? Quite stopping. I wanna get home and play with my new purple toy."

A strange feeling moved through him as Kuro's eyes met his but he brushed it aside easily enough, ears flattening against his head. He waited until the other Jivvin was on the move once more before following him onwards in silence. For the moment, he knew that his egg was safe... Despite Jhadia's words.

"You know if you just put me...ouch!" She was finally hushed for a moment as Kuro bit down enough to actually make it painful for a moment.

He was tired of hearing her and that was the best way to shut her up.

Entring the Demon's gardens though a small door made for him in the wall he looked for somewhere near by that he could set Jhadia down and retrieve the egg from her.

He winced as he heard Jhadia's cry, knowing how fangs could sting when the pressure was just right. It wasn't a feeling that he looked forward to ever knowing firsthand again, just as it wasn't one he ever hoped to bring to anyone, no matter how many times he threatened the young female.

He paused outside the doorway for a moment, biding his time in hopes that Kuro would deal with Jhadia so that he wouldn't have to. Despite how much he disliked her, he didn't really want to hurt her... And, with the way she was currently trying his patience, he was almost afraid that he would.

"That hurt you ...OHHH! Freedooo.... Crap..." She almost leapt for joy when Kuro set her down but, the moment she was on the ground, Kuro's rather large paw was on her tail. "You suck, you know that." She glared at him from around the egg, which she was still currently attached to.

"No, I just prefer making your life miserable." He kept his paw on her and rested another on the egg. "Now, let it go and I promise I won't do any more damge to you today."

When he was convinced that he'd waited long enough he slipped through the doorway, following the sounds of the two voices through the gardens. He lingered back far enough that he wouldn't be seen though. He wouldn't risk Jhadia seeing him and attempting to take off with what was rightfully his.

"Yes you will. You'll bat me around for the hell of it later." She rolled around, taking the egg with her, and glared at him. "Besides, I found it, it's mine."

"If you dont let it go I am going to pry you off of it with my teeth." He really would pry her off it she didn't let go. He didn't really want to hurt her, even if she was the biggest annoyance he had ever met, but he would if she didn't let the egg go.

As he sat there listening to the conversation between the two he began to think; wondering why Kuro was helping him. Of course, maybe it wasn't that the crimson canine was helping him. Perhaps his care was more for the Jivvin within the egg... Or perhaps he simply wished to keep Jhadia miserable by taking her 'prize' from her.

Either way it wasn't something that he should be questioning. No, he should simply sit there content that Kuro was going to get his egg for him before Jhadia did something stupid.

"No, you just want it so you can take it back to Aara and be the hero." She giggled and tried to pull her tail out from under Kuro's leg. She knew better than to bite him. He didnt take well to being bitten and she had learned that the hard way.

"Will you stop with that," he snapped. He hadn't heard Aara follow them into the yard so he was unaware someone was listening. "Bringing his egg back wouldn't make him like me again. He dosen't even speak to me anymore unless forced."

"You aren't going to start being all broody again are you?" She tugged at her tail again. "Cause you know it will be really to get away if you do."

His brow furrowed slightly while the rest of him remained still. He didn't dislike Kuro... He just hadn't had anything to say to him. What exactly could one say to the person that they'd attacked... Knowing that they weren't truthfully sorry for having done so? He had tried to speak to Kuro on several occassions but it hadn't been the same. Everything felt... Strained. Friendship wasn't supposed to be like that, was it?

"I can brood if I want, for ******** sake." Yea, he so took that rule not to curse in front of the 'children' to heart. He knew that he deserved what Aara did do him but he didn't know why they couldn't get past it.

"You know. If you just jumped on him I bet it would solve everything." She sat up slightly, sitting around the egg. "But nooooo you are just going to hide under the table"

He'd heard more than enough things that he probably shouldn't have. Clearing his throat softly he stepped out into the open, "Jhadia, pouncing on others isn't always the best way to get their attention... Perhaps one day you'll learn that and, maybe, if you leave right now I'll bring my hatchling to visit you once he or she has emerged from its egg. Even ugly little Jivvins, such as yourself, need friends."

She looked up as Aara walked out. "I'm not letting it go! Its my egg now. I took it fair and square" She huffed and stood up, amazingly letting go of the egg.

As soon as Jhadia had let go of the egg Kuro used his head and butted her out of the way. She was easy to toss and he could easily get at the egg now. Sitting back on his hauches his ears flattened slightly. Aara had followed them, which meant he had heard.

Pulling the egg to him he wrapped his tail, and an arm, around it as Jhadia got up and huffed at him

He would pretend that he hadn't heard anything before that if it was what Kuro wished. Afterall, there had been many things that Jhadia had said up to this point that he had ignored... And would continue to ignore until Kuro felt the need to speak straight to him about whatever it was that the young female rambled on and on about.

"Jhadia, I meant what I said... If you go away now I'll bring the hatchling over to see you as soon as it emerges from its egg."

"You guys both suck!" She yipped before hopping off to the house. Hatter had taken the twins out shopping eariler, before they left, and that meant that Lyra was bound to have another plushie. That would be fun! Egg forgotten, she dissaeared into the house

He sighed as Jhadia left and uncurled his tail from around the egg. Carefully he pushed it away from him. "Here....She didn't do any damage to it."

He sighed as Jhadia left them alone, taking a few steps towards Kuro and his egg. "Thank you." He murmured softly as he tilted his head down, touching the colorful shell with the tip of his nose so as to see for himself that all was well. His eyes raised to Kuro, fixed on the crimson Jivvin's face. "... I owe you."

He was almost tempted to say that Aara owed him alot. Afterall, he had attacked him, took a rather large chunk out of his ear, and not spoken to him in forever. "I wouldn't have let her hurt your egg..." It was Aara's. He wouldn't have let anything hurt something belonging to the blue jivvin.

His tail flickered out, wrapping around the egg in order to pull it back towards him. Yes, the egg was safely back in his posession now, even if it had been safe with Kuro despite Jhadia. "Thank you just the same, Kuro..." Was that a slight trace of smile threatening to curve the corners of his muzzle? It might have been but, knowing Aara and how he'd been as of late, it just as easily might not have been.

He shook his head slowly before raising his gaze to meet that of the crimson canine. "I should probably take the egg home, shouldn't I? Before the brattling returns and says something else... I don't want to hear your words from her, Kuro... If they are your words."

"She won't come back out. Lyra got new toys." He got up and walked around in a circle before he started to pace. He hadn't really wanted to have this conversation with Aara; at least not this soon.

"They are...."He sighed and looked back at Aara. "Even... Even after the fight I missed you. You were, are, the only friend I have."

"I've never ceased being your friend." He spoke softly after pausing, feeling the unease lingering about in the air due to their current conversation. Carefully he nudged his egg towards an oversized leaf that had fallen from one of the nearby plants. The leaf seemed strong enough to hold the weight of the egg until he got it back to the dragon's if he were to carry it slowly and carefully. "Friendship, as I've been told, is stronger than actions and words.. And some words, are better said later... When one is more comfortable with them."

He walked over toward Aara and stood there for a few moments. "Words shouldn't mean so much." He touched his muzzle to the others before he turned and headed for the house. He couldn't say anything yet. He hadn't thought it all out. He needed more time without Jhadia around bugging him so that he could think.

He stood there unmoving for a good long moment, pondering everything that had been said right along with everything that had been left unsaid. Actions speak louder than words.

He shook his head quickly, leaning down to take the edges of the leaf between his teeth, forming a little satchel around the egg. "C'mon 're g'in 'ome." And home they went... Home to get safely away from Jhadia. Home to get away from Kuro an his thoughts. Home to get away from everything save for one another; 'parent' and egg.

__//A New Start?

The smirk from the look he'd put on Jhadia's face was still across his muzzle. He had left the demon's home once he had assured her that he was indeed well, better than he had been, and that she needent comcern herself. Jhadia had for once been silenced, if only for a moment, and he was still pleased he had managed it. Now that the tan pup was growing she would be harder to silence. While she was still a loudmouth b***h she was starting to learn how to use that talent correctly. It would not bode well for anyone who got in her way.

He had returned to the center to see what he could do with this newfound abality he had gained. As he had strolled through the forest he figured out how he could turn it on, as it were, and off. He noticed if he looked at plants it seemed as if they were covered in a soft green glow, animals were a different story. Different species seemed to have the same base colors but different animals had different colors sliding though the main ones. He had asked Hatter about it while at home and she said it seemed like he was seeing something called an 'aura'

Laying out on the porch in a path of sunlight after looking around for anyone he shook his head and watched his surroundings go back to their normal look. No one else was about and looking at all that green got old. He would wait for others to show up and observe what they looked like though his new eyes.

A race. A grand race. To the Center... Before Maeve could beat her there and before Aaralyn could catch up with them. She bounded along the path with great excitement; forgetting momentarily that she was a dignified lady for the romping freedom of childusthood. "Can't catch me!"

"Can too!" She called after Beryl, tail streaming behind her as awkward paws padded along the ground. She had to beat her. It was bad enough that Beryl was always speaking for them (alright, so maybe she didn't mind... If Beryl was speaking she didn't have to talk to anyone and worry about getting frightened) but she was the fastest that there ever was and ever would be!

She managed to pull ahead as the Center came into view, running just a nose ahead of the pale blue Jivvin only to skid to an immediate halt as she caught sight of something on the porch.

She ran on even after the other had stopped, prancing around in front of the porch without taking notice of the creature on it. "I won! Told you I would!"

He had watched the little ones come skidding though the forest and across the grass but for once had not moved away from the porch. They were no harm to him, he was bigger than them, and if he played his cards right he could observe them.

"You only one because you were not smart enough to see what you were running toward." His voice was low as he spoke to the light blue little one who was bouncing around before him.

As he looked over to the other one, the one who had stopped upon noticing him, he let his eyes cloud over. He wanted to see what he could see on the two.

Since he was not fond of pups in the first place he had nothing against useing them as lab rats, and from the looks of things one at least was frightened, to an extent, of him and it would be intresting to see if he could tell that from her colors.

Kuro might possibly be blinded by the brilliant blaze of sapphire that flared up from the pale blue ust as she turned about to face him. Her eyes narrowed and she stood proudly between the creature who had just insulted her and Maeve, who was slowly sneaking closer. "I was running towards the Center. I knew it was here." The sapphire began to fade slightly as she spoke to the same calm color as her coat with the occassional flicker of the brighter hue. There was something about her... Something that wouldn't have easily been placed.

Her own aura was, much like Beryl's, the same color as her coat. It was a soft, hazey purple that seemed to cling close to her coat as she moved to stand behind the blue Jivvin. Every now and then a flash of crimson 'lightning' would streak away from her like static... Her nervousness, perhaps? A threat? No, she was no threat. She was a child... A frightened child who wanted her guardian who was settling for the Jivvin before her.

The little purple one was alright, quiet and frightened like a good little girl. The blue one was another story. He didnt like it. Whatever was there reminded him of Eleos and the lack of anything on the winged one.

He streched and sat up slightly and continued to look at the two before ne spoke again. "Yes, but i believe she," He nodded his head toward the blue one. "had the better idea in stopping." He grinned slightly, ivory teeth glinting, "I could have been one of thoes who startles easily and snapped your leg off"

He wouldnt really have snapped her leg off. Jhadia he might take a leg off, but not some silly little pup. He didnt have a taste for his own kind, not after getting his teeth on one.

"Kuro?" His voice traveled along the path as he stood there, eyeing the two usts and the llar that he knew... Or, at least, thought he knew. "Are you threatening my hatchlings?" His brow raised slightly as he padded towards the trio, giving Maeve a gentle nudge before taking a seat beside Beryl.

"Lady Maeve, Lady Beryl... May I introduce you to Kuro; Lord of all things that go bump in the night." His voice was teasing and the light that danced around his coat had a soft, pleasant glow... Almost comforting.

It was comforting. Very much so. She moved towards Aaralyn, taking a seat between his front paws. In unison she spoke with Beryl, creating a strange chime of child-like voices. "Hello, Lord Kuro."

His head turned as he heard his name in a familier voice. So the little ones were Aara's. That would mean that one of them was the egg that Jhadia had tried to steal. That was intresting.

"No ...only giving them a friendly warning." His eyes, which were usually bright, were almost completely covered in black as he looked at Aara. He had not noticed it before, being too preoccupied with things, to see and feel that Aara was indeed comforting.

"Hallow little ones." He nodded his head to them. It was not something he would have done before. It was something he would have done before he met the blue one and his world was turned but after? No. But the winged ones had give him his perspective back. He no longer had to fear that other's would hate him.

"Why don't the two of you go around to the back of the house and see what you can find there? Hm?" He dipped his head down to n** at the scruff of Maeve's neck before giving Beryl a gentle nudge. "I'll be right here if you need me."

The two glanced up, one with acceptance and the other with a bit of worry until she was nipped... It was the playfulness of her Guardian Beast that somehow let her know that things would be alright. "Race you to the back!" She scrambled over Aara's paws, nearly tripping over the larger Jivvin as Beryl took off and she bolted after.

Once the young ones had gone he turned his attentions back towards Kuro. "You've returned." Obviously. He tilted his head slightly in disappointment of his knack for stating that which was clearly seen, 'aura' flickering with flashes of grey before softening once more. "And... You've changed, haven't you?"

"Yes, i have returned." He had come back though he hadnt truely changed. He had always been like this, he had just hidden in for fear that the blue Jivvin before him would run from him. "Though i would not say i have changed."

He continued to watch the blue Jivvin's colors as he sat up and back on his haunches. "I was always like this. I just hid things, rather poorly as i am comming to understand."

"No... There is something else that I can't quite place my fing-- Paw on." He sighed. Some phrases, it seemed, were not universal. "No matter, you've returned. I'm glad." His words were true. His smile was true. The soft light licking at his coat was proof to that. Afterall, he was a horrible liar.

"So i see..." And he could. Though as he though about it he wondered if it was right to be staring at people like that. It probably wasnt, but no one could really stop him could they. It wasnt like he knew how to interpret the changes completely anyway.

"I have learned how to use the gifts i was born with, nothing more."

"Oh." He wasn't quite sure how else to respond to that. Flickers of that doubtful grey appeared in his 'aura's' coloration once more, fading only as he forced thought aside for idle conversation.

"Have you been home yet? If you have, I'm assuming you've seen Jhadia..." He ignored the dislike he had for the way the female had mistreated his hatcling momentarily.

His head tilted slightly, ears flickering, as he watched the gray appear and fade. He wondered which of his words had prompted the color change but decided not to ask.

"Yes. I have seen her." He sighed. "She is still the same brat she was although she is getting more talented at it." His tail swished lazily behind him on the porch. "You're little ones seem to be growing well. I am glad that the royal pain in the a** didnt hurt the egg"

At that the fluffy clouds that served as Aara's aura darkened once more, dimming to that just-before-the-storm grey. "She didn't harm the egg, but she harmed the hatchling." He sighed, shaking his head slowly. "Jhadia has aged physically, but she is still a child mentally. Only a child would egg an ust on only to send it fleeing into the woods." Lightening flashed... And then the skies cleared. "Maeve and Beryl get along well enough though. For that I am glad."

He chuckled slightly as he watched the storm build and die in the other's aura. That was amusing if only because he could actually see the emotions now rather than having to guess.

"She is starting to grow into her mind. Its not a comforting thought." He shook his head. If she ever learned how to use her mind like she could the world was in trouble, It was good the two pups got along. That ment they would at least have a friend as they grew

Jhadia growing into her body was not a comforting thought, nevermind her mind itself... But the pale blue Jivvin kept that to himself suprisingly well. "I don't look forward to seeing her again..." His head dropped slightly. "There are things that should never be said between those that, in some ways, could be viewed is family... And 'stay away from me and mine' is one of them."

"I doubt anyone will ever look forward to seeing her more than once." He got up and streched. Family? Well the demon and the dragon were rather close so they were in some ways family. Though, was that all there was to that?

"While you have to love family you do not have to like them. It is easy enough to tell her to stay away from your little ones"

"Seeing her more than once might not be all that bad... 'Tis when she opens her mouth that the trouble begins." He nodded slowly as he resisted the urge to stretch in the same way that Kuro had. It looked as if it would feel wonderful.

He did stand up though, giving a slight shake from shoulders right down to the tip of his tail. "Speaking of young ones... I should probably go check on Beryl and Maeve... Would you like to join me?"

"Considering glue wouldnt be able to keep her jaws shut?" He had been about to sit back down but decided against it when the blue one suggested going and looking for the little ones.

"It would be a pleasure to join you" He really didnt care about finding the little ones but walking with Aara would be nice.

He couldn't help but laugh as he padded away from the porch, heading towards the back of the Center. "For some reason, I don't believe you."

The 'little ones' had run themselves rampant. After racing to the back of the Center they'd played a bit of tag before collapsing in the shade of a tree. Maeve's head was resting on Beryl's paws and Beryl's head rested on Maeve's shoulder.

"You doubt that i would want to spend time with you?" He tilted his head as he followed after the blue one. The little ones were of no importance to him other than they were there and he could expierement with his powers on him so he paid them no mind

He padded towards the two, checking to make sure that all was well before turning back to Kuro. "You seemed to be perfectly content on your porch alone. I'm sure that the Princesses interrupted your silence in one way or another... And I merely added to it."

"I was actually waiting on someone to appear, i wanted to ...try things" He nodded as Aara turned to look at him again. "You appearing is far better than someone i do not know."

His ears flattened slightly and the air around him, should Kuro still be watching, went grey. The hatchlings had appeared first... What if something had happened to them? He had to pause to remind himself that, despite their argument and his threats to Jhadia, he truly didn't think Kuro would hurt tiny usts. Frighten? Yes. Hurt? He hoped not. The air remained 'stormy' as he thought.

With this new 'power' he could guess the other's thoughts. "I would not have hurt them." His ears flicked slightly as he was reminded of the chunk taken out of one of his. "I may have scared them but i would not hurt them, they are innocents"

"Sometimes frightening a child can be the same as harming them." He shifted golden eyes from the forms of the sleeping hatchlings to Kuro's face. "Jhadia chased Maeve off into the woods and, from there, something terrified her. She is not the ust she was when she hatched... Which may or may not be a bad thing, but..." He shook his head slowly before padding away from the two, moving off towards another tree to seek solace in its shade.

"I am not Jhadia." He shook his head and followed Aara. He wasnt just going to let things go this time, he was going to actually talk to the other.

"I would not have let a pup run off by its self into the woods."

After flopping down onto the cool grasses he looked up to the other llar, letting golden eyes focus on Kuro for a moment. "No... You certainly aren't Jhadia. The coloration is all wrong and her body lacks the build that yours has due to gender differences." He managed to speak that with a straight face, suprisingly enough. A straight face and dancing eyes.

He sat beside, well almost beside, the other. "And i have certian brain functions that she lacks." He smirked, which all in all wasnt that comforting of an expression. "I have the better looking body." He turned his head to look at Aara

The pale blue Jivvin laughed. Laughter. It was a sound that, sadly enough, he had become unfamiliar with. Had so much changed since they'd first met? He knew that he himself had changed... But Kuro had as well, hadn't he?

His eyes locked on the crimson Jivvin's face for a moment. Yes, Kuro had changed, even if he had said that he hadn't. His eyes closed and he smirked, flickers of white 'dancing' through his blue 'aura'... Was the 'aura' laughing? "Mm... Are you sure about that, Kuro?" Yes, it was laughing.

His tail swished around behind him as he listend to the other's words and watched his colors change. So white was laughter, or perhaps just a 'extreme' form of happyness, but laughter worked for this time. Eventually his tail settled for curling around his legs.

He tilted his head. Sadly though the black film his eyes couldnt be seen but there was a dark glint in the silver. "Wouldnt you agree?" Shifting his legs he did something almost out of character for him, he posed.

He blinked... And then he blinked once more, head tilting to the side. Had Kuro truly...? Another blink... A soft snort... And more laughter. "Could it be? Kuro? Making a joke? Tell me, friend, are you feeling well? You don't need to lie down again, do you?"

Settling back into his usual sitting pose he laughed himself slightly. "Yes, i feel fine. Wonderful in fact."

In all actuality he felt better than he ever had. Which was an accomplishment since usually he didnt even notice how he felt

He took a deep breath before letting his head fall to rest on his paws, a smile curving on his muzzle. "Making jokes... Laughing..." He glanced up for a moment before closing his eyes once more. "Are you certain that you are Kuro and not some doppleganger here in his place?"

He shifted back and streched out across the grass. "I am certian that if there were another of me running around someone would be dead by now." Mostly because usually dopplegangers were usualy, from what he had read, evil and if he was any worse he'd have killed someone by now

"No... The world is definately not prepaired to have two of you running about." His smile faded as a yawn parted his mouth. "Perhaps the young ones had a good idea..."

More of him running around was probably why Hatter had told him if he ever breed she would kill the kids. It made him smirk to think about now.

"They did intrupt my almost nap..."

"Then perhaps a nap in the company of friends isn't all that..." Another yawn as he stretched out before settling with his head on his paws once more. "... That bad of an idea."

"perhaps not" He settled his head on his paws and closed his eyes.

__//A little interlude

There were many things Kuro would like to be looking at, Jhadia was not one of them. The female had come to the center to tell him that Hatter wanted him home that evening so she could talk to him. Now, this conversation should have lasted all of two minuets but Jhadia had to take the time to tell him that he was being useless and he ws annoying Hatter and that he should go crawl back to her and appolpgize.

He would have worried once in his life, but not anymore. Hatter had no problem with him and she would no more worry about him being out than she would her son Cian. The demon knew her family well enough to know who woudl be find on their own.

"God. If you are going to ignore me at least have the decenty to do it well." She sat back on her hauches and looked at the red jivvin. He had gotten more annoying since he'd come back. Mostly this was because her usuall jabs didnt seem to affect him anymore but she wasnt going to tell him this. She would just have to find more intresting ways to mess with her 'elder'

He should have turned back the moment he heard that voice but he had talked to Maeve about facing her fears, and although he wasn't afraid of Jhadia, it would do him well to show the two usts that fears were not the only things that could not be avoided for the sake of simplicity. No, there was also annoyingly obnoxious beauties in the world who were known for making lives miserable. Jhadia just so happened to be one of them.

For once, rather than scampering off ahead, Maeve lingered back behind Aaralyn with Beryl. Today had been a lazy day. A wonderfully lazy day. She had rolled around in the soft grasses out in the dragon's garden listening to Callista tell Beryl stories. Sometimes she envied the bond that the girl and her pale blue companion shared.

Just as sometimes she envied the 'freedom' that Maeve had. Nevermind the fact that she cared deeply for Callista, for she did. It was just one of those child-like things. Those desires for freedom... Because, of all people, she should have been free. But maybe there was a lesson to be learned... A lesson in... What was that word? Humility?

Kuro eventually looked at Jhadia, his eyes filled in black, and grinned. She was so easy to read. Her colors flashed bright and often so the red one had no trouble baiting her right back as she tried to get at him. It was becomming more and more amusing as the time wore on.

"If it wasnt for the fact that i have to live with you i'd just ...." She huffed as her tail snapped around behind her. She realy couldnt think of a threat for Kuro but she'd do something. He got on her nerves simply because he didnt do what she wished nor did he even try to pretend.

As they came within range of the center Maeve broke away from Aaralyn and Beryl, making a blurring bee-line of brilliant color towards Kuro... Completely ignoring Jhadia. Or was it that she just hadn't seen the older Jivviness? That was quite possible.

"Kuro!" She pounced at the llar, landing just short of him because Aara had told her not to pounce on anyone unless they said that it was alright. At least she remembered this time.

"Mae! Wait for me!" She bounded off after her companion ust, not wanting to be left behind even if she didn't mind Aara. Her pace was a bit slower though and she did notice Jhadia, coming to a halt soon after to wait for Aaralyn. It never hurt to approach new creatures with caution.

He caught up eventually, standing guard beside Beryl. Kuro would keep Maeve safe. He had faith in that.

He was startled as Maeve almost appeared infront of him and his concentration broke. His eye shifted back to their usual gray as he looked at the pup. "Well, if it isnt the little princess."

Normaly he would have snarled at a pup but, well, Maeve wasnt all that bad. She was cute, in a way, and at least she hadnt jumped on him. He looked up at Aara as the other moved closer. "Taking the little ones out ot play."

Her eyes widened then narrowed as the pup streeked past her and completely ignored her. How dare she. Turning her head she glared at Aara.

"Forget how to teach the brats how to be polite?" They at least should have said something to her. Even if she didnt like them.

"Maeve, Beryl, a lesson in being polite..." He bowed as best he could on four legs, lowering his head in Jhadia's direction while keeping his eyes locked upon her. "When addressing one who is older than you, one should say 'Good Day', 'Good Afternoon' or 'Good Evening' before attempting to toss insults."

His nose wrinkled slightly as he straightened himself out, turning his gaze towards Kuro. "Oh, you know how I enjoy my games. All work and no play makes Aaralyn a dull Jivvin."

"Good evening, Kuro." She grinned, letting her long, fluffy tail swish back and forth behind her as she stretched her neck to touch her nose to Kuro's cheek before curling up between his front paws... Sneaking in a quick 'haha' glance at Jhadia before appearing innocent once more.

"I am not a brat. I am a lady." Her nose tilted upwards as she took a seat beside Aaralyn, prepairing herself to ignore Jhadia from here on out. Ladies did not respond to such creatures... Even if they were lovely. Would she be that lovely some day?

He just managed to choak back a laugh at Aara's words to Jhadia. That was a good one, much better that what he'd been about to say. He'd have to remember that one and prod Jhadia with it later. "Yes, and we wouldnt want a dull Aaralyn"

As Maeve curled up between his arms he raised a brow. He wasnt supose to be good with kids was he? Shaking his head he looked down at her. "Comfortable?"

Her cheeks turned pink under her fur as Aara spoke to her. She really didnt like Aara. Really. He needed to stop pretending he was better than her and just get over it.

Lookingn down at Beryl she scoffed. "You are not a lady, you're a brat."

He glanced down at Beryl, watching the tiny ust bristle at Jhadia's words. Somehow he'd have to convince the pale blue princess that words spewing forth from a mouth such as that meant nothing. "Beryl, another lesson: When one such as Jhadia continues to parrot the same silly insult time and time again... You become a parrot as well. Turn to her and say 'I know you are, but what am I?'."

Her eyes went wide as she looked up at Aaralyn. Had he really just...? She giggled, sounding more like a small child than she had since the last time she and Maeve had run around the back yard of the Center. "Aara. That's not niiice." Another giggle. It wasn't nice... But it was funny."

She glanced up at Kuro giving him her best 'aren't I cute?' smile before shifting so that she could rest her head against one of his paws. "Yes. Your fur is soft... And it's a pretty color. I like red." She liked purple better... But red was a close second.

It probably wouldnt be a good idea to piss off Jhadia but as long as neither of the pups tried it without either Aara or Kuro around he doubted there would be a problem. He would certinally stop the nasty female before she hurt either of the pups. "Aara's got a good point. Jhadia's probably turn funny colors if you said it enough."

He turned his attention to Maeve again. "Blue's prettier than purple or red. But i am rather hansom arent i." His tone was joking as he nudged her hip with his nose.

"Really now Aaralyn. That is probably the most useless comeback. It dosent even take half a braincell to come up with that." She curled her tail around her legs.

"That's good. If it doesn't take half of a braincell to come up with a comeback such as that it means I haven't wasted my time or energy in responding to you and neither has Beryl." He grinned as he tilted his head, making sure to give Beryl and overexaggerated wink.

"Aara!" Her eyes went wide once more as she found herself torn between childlike laughter and the lady-like knowledge that egging someone on wasn't generally the proper thing to do.

She huffed softly as she wriggled away from Kuro's nose. Her attentions then turned towards Aaralyn and Jhadia, voice as soft as a whisper as she spoke to Kuro. "... Jhadia's scary, but she can't scare Aara away."

"Jhadia isnt scary. She just bigger than you." He smirked. "And she thinks she can keep a step ahead of thoes who are already ten steps ahead of her."

Someone would knock Jhadia into her place, or someone would find her and teach her how to do it properly. Either way it would be long before she became a real threat to anyone.

"That insult isnt worth the time it takes to say it. So you've wasted air saying it." She huffed. "And i am wasting air on this argument. So find a better way to try to insult me if you're going to try"

"Then hold your breath and waste it not, Jhadia. I will say no more." He grinned as, once more, he bowed deeply to her. "Good day to you, Miss." He then turned away, casting his gaze upon Beryl. "And that is how you deal with a true brat, Lady Beryl."

The giggle that she had been holding back fell from her lips as she stepped forward to gently butt her head against Aaralyn's foreleg. "You're silly Aaralyn."

"When I'm that big I'll still be pretty, right? Aara said that... No matter how pretty Jhadia is she'll always be ugly on the inside." Her brow furrowed slightly at her childlike concerns as she curled up against Kuro's leg once more.

"Yes. When you grow up you will be far prettier than her." He nodded. "As long as you listen to Aara you'll be pretty on the inside and outside."

She huffed and fumed silently. She really didnt like Aaralyn and he was going to make sure that little brat got on her nerves too. At lest she could still scare them when they were alone.

That thought brought a smirk to her lips.

"... I always listen to Aaralyn." She nodded slowly as she tried to fight back a yawn only to fail miserably, letting her head rest on Kuro's leg once more.

His brow raised slightly as he heard Maeve's words, shaking his head slowly. There were some times when she truly was lucky that she was so damned adorable. His little princess...

He leaned down, nudging Beryl playfully with his nose. "Silly, am I? Well, Lady, what say you to going inside to find something to drink? Being Silly instead of Aaralyn has made my mouth parched."

She toppled over as the nudge caught her off-balance, paws batting at Aara to shoo him away as she tried to stand once more. "But I'm not thirsty, Aaralyn."

He chuckled as she lay on him. I'm not a pillow you know he wanted to tell her to get off but it wasnt that bad and at least if she was sleeping she wasnt going to end up being annoying.

He picked his head up and looked at Aara and Beryl.

She sat watching the others for a moment before she got up. Stalking off toward the center she decided she would find something in there to do. Something that didnt involve idiots.

"Hmm, y'know..." He spoke as he watched Jhadia head inside. "Maybe I don't want to go in their afterall. It just became a lot brighter out here." A teasing grin spread over his maw. "Kuro, would you like to pick Maeve up... I should probably be getting these two home. They've had enough excitement for today."

"But, Aara..." She was about to protest until she remembered that whining would get her nowhere and it wasn't at all becoming. She straightened herself out, managing to keep back a yawn of her own. Maybe heading home wouldn't be all that bad of an idea...

He looked down at Maeve again and poked at his teeth with his tongue. He suposed he could pick her up and not hurt her if he was careful.

"If she whines about being wet later i am not going to listen to it." Carefully he scooped the pup up by the back of her neck and stood. It wasnt all that hard if he got his jaw just the right way, but he wouldnt be able to speak like this.

"She won't complain... She's been carried like that before." When I found her alone in the woods. He nodded slowly as he dipped down to capture Beryl in the same way. The soft scruffs around their neck were easy to carry them by and if they were both carrying a pup there would be no need for conversation... Not that there was every truly a need for talk between them.

He streched his legs and headed off in the direction of the dragon's home. He still remembered where it was vagely and if he forgot he could just follow Aara and pretend he hadnt gotten lost.
