o.O;; Do you have lots of time on your hands or has this thing been nagging at you forever and you finally gave in? Or are you being paid for this?

Well, it's obvious that Vulpix and Ninetales are based on japanese kitsune...
Gyardos is based on Chinese dragons, along with...er, how do you spell the name of the one from Emerald/Sapphire/Ruby? sweatdrop though, he seems to be more based on Mayan and Aztec beliefs.
And Golduck is compared to Kappas from Japanese myths.
Drozees and Hypnos are based on dream tapirs, I think... they were supposed to give/eat good dreams of children...
Ho-oh and Moltres are phoenixs... Dragonite is based on Western dragons, along with Charizard...
More to come when I think of it.

Edit: And to elaborate more on Ho-Oh being based off a phoenix, it's actually based off the Chinese myth of Suzaku.

Well at least you don't have a bajillion different things you HAVE to get a degree in, like me.
And why is it that all my friends were born one place, but now live somewhere else?
Am I the only one who lives in their birthtown and has never moved before? gonk
