"That kinds of makes you a princess then, especially if you're such a special animal" He was right that she wasn't a very common bird atleast. He took a longer sip of the tea now that it was cooler. She seemed to have gotten embarassed again, girls confused Lian so much sometimes. "Oh Keanu, I met him once. He was searching for ledgendary animals and mosnters i think, its been awhile since I've talked to him."

She turned red to her ears, looking down at the table. Maybe if she stared at it long enough something interesting would happen with it. But then again maybe not. "Well, I guess if you put it like that, sure. I'm Princess Liang," she chimed, lifting her cup up for a mock toast, "The one and only eternal bird." She'd never really read up on her species, but she did remember seeing once that the Feng-Huang was the Chinese immortal bird.

"Oh you're like a Pheonix, those are very beautiful." He taosted back. It never really occured to Lian it was what he was saying that was making her blush. He took a long sip from his tea again. He waited a bit before murmring. "i think you make a great princess."

Relaxing a bit, she nodded, "You'd make a great one." It took her a moment, but soon she realized what she had said and blushed again, "Not a good princess I mean, a prince. You're very courteous, and handsome." Wait, did she just tell him he was handsome? Oh well, he would take it as he took it. Normally she would have been worried, even mortified that he might think she was weird, but she was a bit more comfortable around him than most boys. If anyone asked her, he'd call her a friend. Yeah, she'd never really had a true friend, so this was what it was like.

"Ah well..." Now that was something that made Lian blush. Him a prince? Now that was unthinkable. His tail swished to curled around to his left and his ears flatend a bit. He was embarassed though, not angry. Why did girls say random things like that sometimes, how confusing. "T-thank you. I don't know if I really would though." he said rather quietly. Lian regained his composure quickly, he mustn't be ruffled by something like that. Think of a different topic. "Is this your favorite tea?" he asked after taking another sip.

She nodded, "It's one of them, it's my favorite day time tea at least. I like Dragon Well tea too, but more for dinner since it's a green tea." Teas and the customs around them were one of the few things she knew a lot about, mainly because it was considered good knowledge for a girl like her. Eventually she would learn less proper things, things like math, fighting, and magic, but for now she liked the things she did know. "Do you like it?" She asked, perking her crest feathers up.

"Yes, its very different from what I normaly drink." He paused to take another sip. "You know so much about teas. I don't know much about my favorite drinks really." he looked at the feathers on her head fpr a moment. They moved just lke his ears did, which amused him abit. Oh the simple things sometimes.

"I read once that in ancient China girls weren't allowed to go to school, they learned at home. But some of the noble girls learned things like teas, calligraphy, dance, and makeup, so they must be important." She explained, hoping she wasn't boring him to death. Her brother Teagan never really paid much attention when she talked about things like that, but they were important to her. "I still don't know much about makeup though, or dancing," she admitted.

"Why do they make girls and bys learn different things? i know we don't always like the same things, but that seems alittle odd." Well it was odd for today society but perfectly normal not to long ago, not that he knew that. " Dancing's kind of intersting, you'd have to be very fit to do alot of what I've seen." Lian didn't mention though that it also often bored him to tears when he was made to watch it.

"I think it was because girls and boys became different things," she explained, "Boys sometimes went into politics, so they needed to be able to read and write and know a lot about the world. But girls usually stayed at home, so they needed to know pretty things, and stuff like finances, so they could manage a family." She shrugged, "I just like a lot of the old things. I'll never be fit enough to do regular dance, my wings are too big and heavy, but I'd love to learn to fan dance someday." Her eyes were a bit starry at the thought, seeing herself up on stage in a beautiful dress, mesmerizing her audience.

"Chinese history is very intersting. That makes it fun to learn. Maybe I should get some books from the library on my way home.." He listened to her explain it quietly. "I'm sure you could do regular dance if you tried really hard at it." What was this fan dancing? Probably dancing with a fan, but he'd ask anyways. " How different is fan dancing from regular dancing?"

"You can never learn too much. Fan dancing is usually a lot slower that normal dancing, and the movements are really smooth," She explained, reaching to the side of the table, lifting up her light wood fan, "It's with fans like this one, lightweight, but they've usually got cloth on them and are really pretty." Figuring he might want to look at it, she held it out over the table, smiling pleasantly, "You can hold it if you want, it was the first fan I ever got. One of the techs in the lab gave it to me."

"I've heard you never stop learning." He smiled softly, while listeing carefully to Liang explain the different dance. "I'll be very careful then." Ge took it carefully na dslid it open slowly to look at the design on the inside. After flipping it over to look at the other side, he closed it slowly and handed it back to her carefully. "Its very nice, much more detailed then the regular old fans you see in the stores usually. Do you have any others?"

She nodded, taking it back gently before setting it back down by her side, "I have a bunch, seven last time I counted. I usually only carry this one or this pretty purple one my brother got me when I learned the alphabet." Sitting here and talking with him was nice. She wasn't expected to run around and play games or anything, so she could just relax.
