SquishyMuffins RikuDrak Yes. Literacy makes the world go round (correctly, anyway). I like my punctuation and grammar. I may slip a few times but if I see it I correct myself. If I don't know the better grammar I blame the lame-a** american education system. I don't think I'm that bad, though. I may joke or mock l33tspeak or chatspeak but truly I never like to use it seriously. Who can take it seriously? There is only one think I hate more than chatspeak. wHeN pEoPLe tALk lIek tHiS~~~~~~~~~~~~~ gonk Apparently people on Gaia take that type of talk seriously. I was dared to make a topic about the Olsen twins and how I liked them (I used to, when they were in Full House) and I decided to put the post in chatspeak. People took it seriously. I had a good laugh. Also, people seemed to agree with me that they were awesome. I laughed more.
Anyway, I want to be an author so I try to at least have some resemblance of good grammar. I'm writing a book too, but I havent really showed it to anyone....

i try and be as litterate as possible. only if i am very rushed will i abbreviate (except for lols, atms and those).
i find it easier to read litterate things and you know youve gone too far when you look back on yourself a week later and think: 'what the ******** did i write?'
like now, i will often avoid caps, full stops and will favour lowers and commas... along with '...'
on msn i try and stay litterate but still abbreviate when on the X360/rushed/abbreviating lols, atms, lmaos and so on
i love my language, i use it as much as i can whilst keeping that cool sense about it

There are some instances when I do use chatspeak but it's just if I feel like being silly...like if me and a close friend are talking and they say something important, I'll be like "zOMGWTF?" or whatever, just for fun. sweatdrop And they do it too. ^_^ But I'd never use it as my main way of conversing over Gaia. It's just so immature looking (no offense to anyone sweatdrop ).

One of the mods for one of the other guilds I'm in warned me about my literacy. I have to use proper grammer or else I'm banned. So now I use my literacy. It wasn't that bad, but she said, "Well its the worst I've ever seen."
