Aww yes, nothing like getting stuck sitting between a piccolo and someone who screams really loud at a football game. Or better yet, a high C on picc. Oh yes, reminded me of a fire alarm if it was twice as high and twice as loud. But I like picc. anyway. Go picc./fluties!!

Keltzy oggywoggy222 *dashes through, changing the thread topic to conform to accepted BNG standards* Did I do something wrong? Sorry!! Hmm, must repress erge to kill section leader. Grrr. Last year I was section leader in my band, and considering 3/4 of the flutes in wind ensemble came from my band last year, I should be second chair. Miss prissy 'though is buddy buddy with one of the other flutes, so she stuck me as temporary 3rd chair. I moved to this band to escape easy parts, not to be stuck with more of them. But I managed to actually play in tune for the first time in my life. Yay!! No, Oggy just does that. 3nodding Anyway, one of me other friends has poofy hair and plays the piccolo. My trombonist friend, a saxophonist, and I are his official hair-slash-piccolo fangirls. XD It's fun. We get to poke his hair and play his instrument whenever we want!! surprised Sorta gets annoying though. Meh.

Our flute wars could very possibly be deadly by tuesday. That's when our chair placements are, and as I told one of my friends, 'if you see random heads rolling down the halls, you know what happened.' Yeah. Like that....
I would love to be one of 20 flutes, not one of 14 but not the only good one.....competition is good.....

Most of the flutes in my band are pretty cool, I mean there are two girls that pretty much everyone in the band hates with a passion (I mean who /does/ like snooty girls who wear too-tight-pants) but a few of the Freshie flutes were dubbed "The cool Freshmen" (by my upperclassmen friend Tuba-playing guy) and the flute section is the heart of the band, we own every other section. Our director said we were the best as well today during band practice (since we did our marching bit where we walk through a line of color guard-ees chucking flags. xp )

most of the time i'm the only flute in band sad to say our school's a performing arts college we have a pathetic band.

How, sad. Hmm, I suppose it's better to have few good flutes than many bad flutes (with a few good ones too.) Augh, last year there were nine of us, and no one could hear any of us at all. Then one day, I went to an orchestra concert at the college, and they had about 25 violins, and three flutes, plus a slew of other instruments. The sad thing was, even when one flute was playing, I could hear them perfectly fine over the rest of the orchestra.

I'd definitely rather have only a few good flutes Out of the nine we have in wind ensemble (not including me), four are sophomores, and none of them are good. I'm constantly wanting to take their flutes from them and show them how to play, but I can't, 'cause I'm on sax for pep band. >.< I want to beat them repeatedly over the head with their instruments and send them back to concert band. I may be slightly hypocritical because I was in wind ensemble as a sophomore, but I was GOOD... I worked hard and I was better than all the other flute players. I doubt the sophomore girls even practice more than once a week, and they're not very good. >.< When I said I wanted more people in Wind Ensemble, I didn't mean more flutes. x_x

Miangel I play flute! I've been playing for six years. I haven't played it recently though because we've been doing pep band stuff, and I switched to sax for pep/jazz band. I'll still be on flute for concert band though - I could never abandon my flute! *hugs it* I want to go professional on it, so.... ^^ i've been playing for seven, i prefer piano more though.

Our flutes in mb are really cool except one of the freshmen. She's loud obnoxious you name it she is, in fact she's so bad most of our band can't stand her. But otherwise our section is great... We dance a lotof the time so it's really really fun lol.

Aside from the sophomores, the flute section is okay (the WE flute section, anyway, I don't know anything about the CB flute section). Most of them I know from last year anyway, so... yeah. But I like the WE tenor section better. There's two people - me, and the guy I've liked for a good two years. XDDD And, if you want to extend my current section to not just include tenors, but all saxes, then most of my band friends are in my section. ^^;;
But don't take any of that to mean I like flutes less! ^^;; Flute is my baby and always will be. I'm just not largely pleased with about half my section at the moment. -_-;;

Our Wind Ensemble is two sophmores two juniors (I'm a sophmore) I can play, and I can play in tune now. Yay! But I'm used to listening to other flutes on my part if I'm not sure of something. Now I'm the only second flute (though I rightfully shouldn't be there, yet) The other 2nd plays picc. half of the time. Apparantly our symphonic band has at least 12 flutes. Scary. And now I'm being bugged by annoying freshmen. We were at a football game, and the cool flutes were just being themselves. Then cowbell boy turns around and says "shut up, you're annoying." He probably said it at least 8 times and made threats too. We were just singing christmas carols and songs from movies. Stupid freshman, threatening the sophmores, juniors, and seniors of the flute section.

I think we did... for a day... but I don't think there's a cowbell part in our show... ^^;; We're having a flute ensemble start pretty soon. I don't play piccolo in band, but I've played one before. It was fun xd
There aren't that many annoying people in flute this year, but last year this one girl complained all year that she hated it, and I can't count how many times she said she was gonna quit. Finally she did. stare Thank God.

FLUTES ARE AWESOME!!!!! LOL! Imma freshmen in the band...
I've been practicing my scales alot SO I can make SYMPHONIC BAND! For 2 reasons! So I'll be in there.. lol.. and so I can see my CRUSH every time I have band surprised
That's why band is awesome.. cause the guy I like plays the trombone... yay! naw... Band is awesome.. cause it's fun, and my friends are in it.. and yea..lol..
What do you guys do in ur band? what do you think of it?
