rolleyes Not really. The thing about subtitles is that you have to read them
fast, a lot faster than simply how long the subs are on the screen. It's not as easy as you might think.
Personally, I prefer subs, because dubs have to be professional work almost by requirement, and there's a lot of factors in professional work that might change the original meanings of the show. But then that's my personal preference, since I've picked up a bit of Japanese (enough to watch a few shows raw, at least), and there's a world of difference between "Sakura", "Sakura-san", and "Sakura-chan" that the dubs may not pick up on... just as an example. For someone who doesn't know as much Japanese, they might not care that much.
(I'm still wondering how to translate "moshikashite" to capture the meaning and feel without having to retranslate everything on a case-by-case basis. No, I don't do any real translation work, but I do write fanfics.)
